I am affectionate towards emperumAn who is very affectionate towards me\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>meyyil vAzhkkaiyai meyyenak koLLum<\/em><br \/><em>ivvaiyandhannodum kUduvadhiilai yAn<\/em><br \/><em>aiyanE! arangA! enRu azhaikkinREn<\/em><br \/><em>maiyal koNdozhindhEN endhan mALukkE<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Word-by-Word Meanings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>meyyil vAzhkkaiyai<\/em> \u2013 life on this earth which is unstable<br \/><em>meyyanak koLLum<\/em> \u2013 considering it as stable<br \/><em>ivvaiyam thannodum<\/em> \u2013 with the people of this world<br \/><em>yAn kUduvadhu illai<\/em> \u2013 I do not mingle<br \/><em>aiyanE<\/em> \u2013 Oh my relative (without any reason)!<br \/><em>arangA<\/em> \u2013 Oh SrI ranganAtha!<br \/><em>enRu azhaikkinREn<\/em> \u2013 I am calling out, like this.<br \/><em>en than mAlukkE<\/em> \u2013 towards emperumAn who is affectionate with me<br \/><em>maiyal koNdu ozhindhEn<\/em> \u2013 I remain affectionate<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Simple Translation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I do not unite with those people who consider this unstable life on earth as a stable one. I am deeply affectionate towards SrI ranganAthan, my lord and who is my relative without there being any reason for that relationship; he is affectionate towards me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>meyyil vAzhkkaiyai meyyenak koLLum<\/strong> \u2013 the term <em>ivvaiyam<\/em> is a distinguished term for this world. This world considers that life, which is unstable, is very much stable. The meaning for the term <em>meyyil vAzhkkai<\/em> is not the falseness which is the belief of baudhdhas [those who do not believe in vEdhams] and <em>mAyAvAdhis<\/em> [those who think that life is illusory; those who interpret vEdhas wrongly]; this is so because other pAsurams of this AzhwAr are completely different from those philosophies. Thus, the term <em>mey<\/em> here refers to stable entity and the term <em>meyyil vAzhkkai<\/em> refers to unstable life on earth. This world believes in holding on to <em>achEthana<\/em> entities (those which do not have knowledge) while entities such as <em>AthmA<\/em> (souls) and <em>paramAthmA<\/em> (supreme entity; emperumAn) are stable. \u00a0Alternatively, the term <em>mey<\/em> could be taken as referring to physical body.
