In this pAsuram, he longs to praise emperumAn with his tongue.<\/p>\n<p><em>vAyOr IraingyURu thudhangaL Arndha<br \/><\/em><em>\u00a0\u00a0 vaLai udambil azhal nAgam umizhndha sendhI<br \/><\/em><em>vIyAdha malarchchenni vidhAnamE pOl<br \/><\/em><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 mEnmElum miga engum parandhu adhankIzh<br \/><\/em><em>kAyAm pU malarp piRangal anna mAlai<br \/><\/em><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 kadi arangaththu aravaNaiyil paLLi koLLum<br \/><\/em><em>mAyOnai maNaththUNE paRRi ninRu<br \/><\/em><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 vAyAra enRu kolO vAzhththu(m) nALE<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Word-by- meanings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>thudhangaL Arndha<\/em> \u2013 full of praises [for emperumAn]<br \/><em>vAy Or IraingyURu<\/em> \u2013 with the thousand mouths, which have no match<br \/><em>vaLai udambil<\/em> \u2013 having a divine form with white complexion<br \/><em>azhal<\/em> \u2013 spitting fire (such that enemies cannot approach)<br \/><em>nAgam<\/em> \u2013 ananthAzhwAn (AdhiSEshan)<br \/><em>umizhndha<\/em> \u2013 spitting without any break<br \/><em>sem thI<\/em> \u2013 reddish fire<br \/><em>vIyAdha malar senni<\/em> \u2013 for emperumAn\u2019s divine crown which is always fresh<br \/><em>vidhAnamE pOl<\/em> \u2013 like a canopy<br \/><em>engum<\/em> \u2013 everywhere<br \/><em>mEnmElum<\/em> \u2013 over and above that<br \/><em>parandhu miga <\/em>\u2013 well spread-out<br \/><em>adhan kIzh<\/em> \u2013 below that fire<br \/><em>kAyA pU piRangalanna<\/em> \u2013 one who is a like a garland strung with purple flowers<br \/><em>mAlai<\/em> \u2013 being the supreme entity<br \/><em>kadi arangaththu<\/em> \u2013 inside the temple fortified with protective walls<br \/><em>aravaNaiyil<\/em> \u2013 on the mattress of thiruvananthAzhwAn<br \/><em>paLLi koLLum<\/em> \u2013 one who has reclined<br \/><em>mAyOnai<\/em> \u2013 one who has wondrous activities<br \/><em>maNaththUNE paRRi ninRu<\/em> \u2013 holding on to the two huge [fragrant] pillars in front of periya perumAL<br \/><em>en vAyAra vAzhththum nAL<\/em> \u2013 that time when I can praise to the satiation of my tongue<br \/><em>enRu kolO<\/em> \u2013 when will it occur?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Simple Translation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>emperumAn is lying on the white mattress of AdhiSEshan, like a garland strung with purple flowers. AdhiSEshan has a thousand tongues with which he is praising emperumAn. He is also spitting fire so that enemies will not dare approach anywhere near emperumAn. When will I get to worship and praise that emperumAn who is inside SrI rangam, fortified with protective walls?<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>vAyOr IraingyURu thudhangaL Arndha<\/strong> \u2013 when yaSOdhaip pirAtti kept infant krishNa on her lap, as an outlet for her extreme happiness, she praised him with her sweet words. In a similar manner, thiruvananthAzhwAn (AdhiSEshan) gave his lap to emperumAn to recline. As an outlet for the extreme happiness, he took a thousand heads in order to praise emperumAn. The thamizh word <em>thudham<\/em> is a modification of the samaskrutham word <em>sthutham<\/em>, which refers to praising with one\u2019s mouth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vaLai udambil azhal nAgam<\/strong> &#8211; AzhwAr says that thiruvananthAzhwAn has a white complexion and emits poison in order to prevent enemies from approaching emperumAn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>umizhndha sendhI vIyAdha malarchchenni vidhanamE pOl mEnmElum miga engum parandhu adhan kIzh<\/strong> \u2013 under the canopy of engulfing fire, emitted continuously by AdhiSEshan through his thousand mouths.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vIyAdha malarchchenni<\/strong> \u2013 this refers to emperumAn decorating his crown with flower garlands which will never wither.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vidhAnamE pOl<\/strong> \u2013 the fire emitted by AdhiSEshan is like a canopy for emperumAn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>kAyAm pU malarppiRangal anna mAlai<\/strong> \u2013 emperumAn appears like a garland strung with beautiful, purple-coloured flowers. <em>mAl<\/em> \u2013 a great person<\/p>\n<p><strong>kadi arangaththu aravaNaiyuil paLLi koLLum<\/strong> \u2013 inside the huge temple in SrI rangam, which has been fortified with walls which lend protection to the town, emperumAn is reclining on AdhiSEshan who has deep affection towards emperumAn. The term <em>kadi<\/em> refers to blocks; here it refers to the huge compound walls which protect the town.<\/p>\n<p><strong>mAyOnai<\/strong> \u2013 one who has amazing activities. Just as it has been said in SrI rAmAyaNam sundhara kANdam SlOkam 88-25<br \/><em>vAyasEna thathas thEna balavathkliSayamAnayA<\/em> I <em>sa mayA bhOdhitha: SrImAn sukhaSuptha: paranthapa<\/em>:<br \/>(Subsequently, SrI rAma, who was sleeping comfortably and who looked handsome because of that, and who burns enemies, was awakened by me who was troubled by that demon crow). emperumAn has an amazing quality about himself due to his reclining posture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>maNaththUNE paRRi ninRu<\/strong> \u2013 Here, the term <em>maNam<\/em> refers to <em>naRumaNam<\/em> which means fragrance. Holding on to the two pillars which are fragrant, and which are present just before the sanctum sanctorum of periya perumAL. Based on this, parASara Bhattar too, in his SrI rangarAjasthavam pUravaSathakam 59<sup>th<\/sup> SlOkam mercifully says <em>AmOdha sthambhadhvayam<\/em> \u2013 the two fragrant pillars. The opinion here is that one has to hold on to the two pillars in order to prevent from being carried away by the flood which emanates from emperumAn\u2019s beauty of excessive happiness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vAyAra enRukoLo vAzhththum nALE<\/strong> \u2013 upon having dharSan (vision) of emperumAn, the immediate kainkaryam (service) that one indulges in, is to praise him.
