previous (manniya pEr iruL)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>pAsuram 11<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Introduction (given by <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amudhanAr<\/a>) says that it is not possible for him to complete talking about the distinguished practicing (of sAsthra and sampradhAya) of those who have surrendered to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> who holds in his head the divine feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/21\/thiruppanazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppANAzhvAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Introduction (given by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/08\/pillai-lokam-jiyar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">piLLai lOkam jIyar<\/a>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Till now with the three pAsurams celebrated the relationship of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/10\/22\/mudhalazhwargal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mudhal AzhvArs<\/a>; in this pAsuram \u2013 for self to have this much of ability\/qualification (to sing) as enabled in the initial stage by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">periya perumAL<\/a> \u2013 in whose divine feet <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/21\/thiruppanazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppANAzhvar<\/a> right from him birth was in love, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/21\/thiruppanazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppANAzhvAr<\/a> who was celebrated as \u2018isaikArar [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/08\/thiruvaimozhi-1-5-11-male-maya\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi 1.5.11<\/a>]\u2019 (poet\/having sweet tunes) by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nammAzhvAr<\/a>; such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/21\/thiruppanazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppANAzhvAr<\/a>\u2019s divine feet is always sought by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>; those who have surrendered to such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> \u2013 their practices (of following sAsthra and sampradhAya) cannot be completely talked about by me in this big world (says <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amudhanAr<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><em>sIriya nAn maRaich chemporuL senthamizhAl aLiththa<\/em><br \/>\n<em> pAriyalum pugazh pAN perumAL charaNAm padhumath<\/em><br \/>\n<em> thAriyal chenni irAmAnusan thannaich chArndhavar tham<\/em><br \/>\n<em> kAriya vaNmai ennAl solloNadhu ikkadalidaththE\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 11<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/yourlisten.com\/sarathy.thothathri\/ramanusa-nurranthadhi-11\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pAsuram <\/a><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%;\" src=\"\/\/yourlisten.com\/embed\/html5?17500751\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong> Word by word meaning (given by <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>sIriya<\/em> \u2013 (vEdhas) having the greatness due to showing the nature, qualities, and ownership of perumAn<br \/>\n<em>nAl<\/em> \u2013 four types consisting of rig etc.,<br \/>\n<em>maRai<\/em> \u2013 such vEdhAs<br \/>\n<em>semporuL<\/em> \u2013 having a smooth run of words<br \/>\n<em>senthamizhAl aLiththa<\/em> \u2013 helped (get such meanings) through the beautiful poems of thamizh<br \/>\n<em>pugazh<\/em> \u2013 having the fame<br \/>\n<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">pAr iyalum<\/span><\/em> \u2013 being in this world<br \/>\n<em>pAN perumAL<\/em> \u2013 such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/21\/thiruppanazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppANAzhvAr<\/a><br \/>\n<em>charaNAm padhumaththAr<\/em> \u2013 the lotus that is the divine feet (of the <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/21\/thiruppanazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a>)<br \/>\n(thAr)<em>iyal senni<\/em> \u2013 (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) having a divine head that holds (such divine feet) as decoration<br \/>\n<em>sArndhavan tham<\/em> \u2013 those who have completely surrendered as their refuge<br \/>\n<em>irAmAnusan thannai<\/em> \u2013 to such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a><br \/>\n<em>kAriya vaNmai<\/em> \u2013 their distinguished practicing<br \/>\n<em>ikkadal idaththu<\/em> \u2013 in this world that is surrounded by sea<br \/>\n<em>ennAl solloNAdhu<\/em> \u2013 it is not possible for me to complete talking about that.<\/p>\n<p>Connecting the words differently, <em>\u2018ikkadal idaththE irAmAnusan thannaich chArndhavar\u2019<\/em> to mean that in this world where there is not too many people who would do bhagavath samAsrayaNam (surrender to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>), these people have reached the pinnacle of it and have surrendered to His devotee that is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> as their refuge.<\/p>\n<p><em>pAriyal<\/em> \u2013 \u2018iyal\u2019 here means being so \/ happenings.<br \/>\n<em>(charNAm padhumath) thAriyal<\/em> \u2013 \u2018iyal\u2019 here means decorating, with,\u00a0 thAr -&gt; flower.<\/p>\n<p>When considering the words as <em>\u2018kAriya<strong>l<\/strong> vaNmai\u2019<\/em>, having the generosity of the dark cloud (kAr); like the clouds that would equally pour in the land and the sea, the devotees of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> pour about all of his auspicious qualities to everyone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> sIriya nAn maraich chemporuL<\/strong><\/span><\/em> \u2013 As said in \u201c<em>sAhi srIramruthAsathAm<\/em>\u201d, vEdhas are the wealth for the learned (sath); and it is in the form of four types rig, yajur, sAma, and athrvaNa. Out of this, as said in \u201c<em>asAram alpa sAramscha sAram sAratharam thyajEth! \u2013 bhajEth sAratharam sAsthram rathnAkara evAmrutham \u2013 aNubhyascha mahadhbhyascha sAsthrEbya:mathimAnnara: &#8211; sarvathassAramAdhadhyAth pushpEbya iva shat padha:<\/em>\u201d (rid of useless and mediocre ones, and take only the best meanings from vEdhas), and in, \u201c<em>sruthi padha viparItham kshavEkalpam sruthowcha prakruthi purusha yOga prApakAmsOnapathya: &#8211; thadhi havibdhaguptham mruthyubIthAvichinvanynthupanishadhamruthAbdhEr uththamam sAramArya:\u201d,<\/em><\/p>\n<p>(~take the best one from the vEdhas, that is the ashtAksharam and the like);<\/p>\n<p>(prabandham amalanAdhipirAn) considers the auspicious meanings of the components a, u, ma of the praNavam which is the essence from the ashtAksharam; (\u2018a\u2019malanAdhipirAn, \u2018u\u2019vandha uLLaththanAi, and \u2018m\u2019andhi pAi; and rest of thirumanthram in the remaining pAsurams; for more experience see: <a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/2012\/10\/archavathara-anubhavam-thiruppanazhwar.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/2012\/10\/archavathara-anubhavam-thiruppanazhwar.html<\/a> )<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/21\/thiruppanazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a> gave such great meanings using beautiful thamizh:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>senthamizhAl<\/strong> <\/em>\u2013 As \u201c<em>amalanAdhipirAn<\/em> [amalanAdhipirAn-1]\u201d, and as \u201c<em>uvandha uLLaththanAi<\/em> [amalanAdhipirAn &#8211; 2]\u201d, and as \u201c<em>mandhipAi vada vEnkata mAmalai <\/em>[amalanAdhipirAn &#8211; 3]\u201d that are the first words of the first three pAsurams of his prabandham amalanAdhipirAn, where he added the essence\/root of vedhAs that is praNavam (aum), and adding other letters to those first letter (a,u,m) (through first words of pAsuram meaning);<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>aLiththa<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 gave (the prabandham) and protected everyone<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>pAriyalum pugazh<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 glory and auspicious qualities that have spread in all the worlds; that are in the happening;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>pAN perumAL<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 As called as \u201c<em>isaikArar<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/08\/thiruvaimozhi-1-5-11-male-maya\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi 1.5.11<\/a>]\u201d (poet\/having sweet tunes), <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/21\/thiruppanazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppANAzhvAr <\/a>was born in the lineage (pANar \/ nampAduvAn of kaisika purANam) of those who create divine songs, deeply learned the ways of music, and as said in \u2018<em>Ethath sAma gAyan nAsthE<\/em>\u2019, he sang sweetly for the pleasure of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">periya perumAL<\/a>; and his identity itself is related to such singing; such noble <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/21\/thiruppanazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppANAzhvAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/emperumAnAr-thiruppANAzhwAr.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4682\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/emperumAnAr-thiruppANAzhwAr.jpg\" alt=\"emperumAnAr-thiruppANAzhwAr\" width=\"749\" height=\"562\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/emperumAnAr-thiruppANAzhwAr.jpg 749w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/emperumAnAr-thiruppANAzhwAr-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 749px) 100vw, 749px\" \/><\/a><em>emperumAnAr with thiruppANAzhvAr<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>charaNAm padhumaththAriyal chenni<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 As said in \u201c<em>guru pAdhAmbujam dhyAyEth<\/em>\u201d , and \u201c<em>bhavath padhAbjE hrushtAsthu nithyam anubhUyamamAsya bhudhdhi:<\/em>\u201d, having the most enjoyable lotus feet (of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/21\/thiruppanazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppANAzhvAr<\/a>) in his (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) divine head, like how others would decorate their heads with crown etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>irAmAnusan thannai<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> who is having the limits of being subservient to the devotees (of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>sArndhavar tham<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 those who have taken (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> as their) refuge<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>kAriya vaNmai<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 As said by <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyar.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/25\/sri-vedanthachariar-vaibhavam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vEdhAnthAchariar<\/a> in \u201c<em>samaya niyathayA<\/em> [nyAsa vimsathi -1 ]\u201d they follow as per sampradhAyam (tradition), that is, as advised by <a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/2012\/11\/archavathara-anubhavam-pillai-lokacharyar.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">piLLai lOkAchariAr<\/a> in \u201c<em>karththavyam AchArya kainkaryamum, bhagavath kainkaryamum<\/em> [srI vachana bhUshaNam -275]\u201d (what is to be done is service to AchAryan and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>), they have the greatness of following the ways; their generosity of showing in action to all the prapannas that this is the way to do such service;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>ennAl solloNAdhu ikkadal idaththE<\/strong><\/em> &#8211; In this world that is surrounded by the seas, as it is hard for me to know the true full level of their greatness, it would be hard for me to complete talking about it.<\/p>\n<p><em>padhumaththAr<\/em> \u2013 lotus flower.<br \/>\n<em>iyal<\/em> \u2013 decorating (like with flower)<br \/>\n<em>kAryam<\/em> \u2013 proper deed to be done<\/p>\n<p>When connecting \u2018<em>ikkadal idaththE<\/em>\u2019 with \u2018<em>irAmAnusan thannaich chArndhavar tham<\/em>\u2019, it gives this meaning: when it is hard to find in this world that begets darkness those who would surrender to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>, it is impossible to complete talking about the greatness of those who surrendered to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s divine feet which is the upper limit of surrendering.<\/p>\n<p>When recited as \u2018<em>kAriya<strong>l<\/strong> vaNmai<\/em>\u2019, kAr -&gt; cloud pregnant with rain drops; its \u2018<em>iyal<\/em>\u2019 \/ ways -&gt; pours out without being partial to land or sea; vaNmai -&gt; similar to such cloud, they are so generous in pouring out about all the auspicious qualities of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>{What follows is piLLai lOkam jIyar immersing in the greatness of those who have surrendered to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>}<\/p>\n<p>Examples of <em>\u2018irAmAnusan thannaich chArndhavar tham kAriya vaNmai\u2019,<\/em> (examples of the greatness of those who surrendered to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> as their refuge) :<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Memorizing the whole text after reading once the bhOdhAyana vruththi grantham, winning in the assembly of krimi-kaNda chOzha those who wrongly interpreted vEdhas \u2013 that is of <a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/2012\/11\/archavathara-anubhavam-kurathazhwan.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAn<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; When <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> made victorious presence into mElnAdu (thirunArAyaNapuram), on the way to the temple, in an agrahAram (village of brahmins) there were a lot of mAyAvadhis (adhvaithins), he looked at them and wished to correct them to be srIvaishNavas, blessed ANdAn saying that you go every day to the tank where they bathe and wash your divine feet in that water; and he did the same; as they took that water they lost their bad ways and developed proper desire and surrendered to the divine feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> &#8211; that is of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/29\/mudhaliyandan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ANdAn<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Giving vyAkyAnam for <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> which is the essence of all vEdhas \u2013 that is of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/14\/thirukkurugaippiran-pillan-english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">piLLAn<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Regarding thiruvEnkatamudaiyAn (srInivAsa), as <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nammAzhvAr <\/a>wanted to continuously do pure kainkaryam as in \u2018<em>ozhivil kAlam ellAm udanAi manni vazhuvilA adimai seyya vENdum nAm<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> 3.3.1]\u2019 , he performed such kainkaryam wished by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr<\/a> as when creating a tank by himself, thiruvEnkatamudaiyAn came down to his level and carried the sand to help him on that \u2013 having such unimaginable excellence \u2013 that is of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/31\/ananthazhwan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ananthAzhvAn<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;
