As said in manu smrithi 12.106 “vEdha SAsthra virOdhinA yastharkENAnusandhaththE sadharmam vEdhanEthara:<\/em>” (One who is engaged in debates which are not contrary to what is seen by sages in vEdham and the smruthis which are based on that vEdham, is the one who knows dharmam.
