This is similar to the way SrI rAma wandered in the forest, looking for sIthAppirAtti, as mentioned in SrI rAmAyaNam AraNya kANdam 60-36, 37 \u201c<em>kvachith udhbhramathE vEgAth kvachith vibhramathE balAth<\/em> || <em>kvachith maththa iva AbhAthi kAnthA anvEshaNa thathpara<\/em>: |\u201d (somewhere by forcefulness of illusion and somewhere else by the powerfulness of allusion and elsewhere, due to the love for his impassioned ladylove, he was running like a madman).<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>thaiyanallArgaL kuzhAngaL kuzhiya kuzhivinuLLum<br \/>\n<\/em><em>aiyanallArgaL kuzhiya vizhavinum angangellAm<br \/>\n<\/em><em>kaiya ponnAzhi veNsangodum kANbAn avAvuvan nAn<br \/>\n<\/em><em>maiyavaNNa maNiyE muththamE enRan mANikkamE<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Word-by-Word Meanings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>thaiyal naLLArgaL<\/em> &#8211;\u00a0 gems of women<br \/>\n<em>kuzhAngaL<\/em> \u2013 association<br \/>\n<em>kuzhiya<\/em> \u2013 huge<br \/>\n<em>kuzhuvinuLLum<\/em> \u2013 in gatherings<br \/>\n<em>aiyanallArgaL<\/em> \u2013 wise men<br \/>\n<em>kuzhiya<\/em> \u2013 huge<br \/>\n<em>vizhavinum<\/em> \u2013 in celebrations<br \/>\n<em>angangellAm<\/em> \u2013 at all those places<br \/>\n<em>maiya<\/em> \u2013 like black pigment<br \/>\n<em>vaNNA<\/em> \u2013 one who has a form (such that the eyes of the beholder would feel cool)<br \/>\n<em>maNiyE<\/em> \u2013 one who is easily approachable<br \/>\n<em>muththamE<\/em> \u2013 one who is cool like a pearl<br \/>\n<em>en than<\/em> \u2013 as a lord for me<br \/>\n<em>mANikkamE<\/em> \u2013 one who is eminent like a carbuncle<br \/>\n<em>kaiya<\/em> \u2013 in the divine hands<br \/>\n<em>pon<\/em> \u2013 radiant<br \/>\n<em>Azhi<\/em> \u2013 with divine disc<br \/>\n<em>veN<\/em> \u2013 whitish<br \/>\n<em>sangodum<\/em> \u2013 with SrI pAnchajanyam (divine conch)<br \/>\n<em>nAn<\/em> \u2013 I<br \/>\n<em>kANbAn<\/em> \u2013 to worship (you)<br \/>\n<em>avAvuvan<\/em> \u2013 desired<\/p>\n<p><strong>Simple Translation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Oh one who has a divine form like a black pigment which is comforting for the beholder! Oh one who is easily approachable! Oh one who has a cool nature similar to pearl\u2019s! Oh one who is like a carbuncle and who is my lord! Among the huge gatherings of women who are like gems and among the festive gatherings of wise men, I desire to see your divine hands holding the radiant divine disc and the divine white conch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>thiyanallAr . . . <\/strong>\u2013 there are women who are like gems; there are huge gatherings of such women. When AzhwAr sees such gatherings, he would presume that krishNa is amidst them, ready to begin the dance called as <em>kuravai<\/em> (a dance in which two people will hold their hands tightly together and spin around, holding their feet at the centre).<\/p>\n<p><strong>aiya nallAr . . .<\/strong> \u2013 just as the wise saying goes \u201c<em>aRavOr arundhavaththOr aiyar<\/em>\u201d (eminent are those who follow righteous path and who carry out deep penance). <em>aiyanallAr<\/em> are even better than such people.\u00a0 <em>avargaL kuzhiya vizhavinum<\/em> \u2013 places where yagyams (ritualistic events) are held, where they will be present in large numbers. In such places as well as in places where people similar to dhaNdakAraNya rishis are gathered. Places such as the one mentioned in SrI rAmAyaNam ayOdhyA kANdam 57-13 \u201c<em>samAjEshu mahathsucha<\/em>\u201d (great assembly of wise men).<\/p>\n<p><strong>angangellAm<\/strong> \u2013 in places similar to these<\/p>\n<p><strong>kaiya . . . <\/strong>\u2013 AzhwAr desires to see sarvESvaran without distinction between his incarnations where he had hidden his divine disc and conch (such as krishNAvathAram) and those where he had displayed them. He had hidden his divine weapons only from demonic entities. What is the hurdle for me to see him with such divine weapons? Didn\u2019t arjunan tell him in bhagavath gIthai 11-46 \u201c<em>thEnaiva rUpENa chathurbhujEna<\/em>\u201d (I desire to see your form with four shoulders, as before)?<\/p>\n<p><strong>avAvuvan nAn<\/strong> \u2013 Does desire have eyes? I desire only \u201cTo see\u201d. I do not wish to think \u201cHe is difficult to see\u201d If he is difficult to be seen, did he create the desire in\u00a0 you to see him and punish you?<\/p>\n<p><strong>maiya vaNNA . . . <\/strong>\u2013 he says that it is the eminence in the entity that created the desire in him.
