The <em>nAyaki<\/em> has become unconscious, thinking about him. Even after seeing her position, her relatives do not seem worried about it; they say \u201cWe will do the appropriate remedy at the appropriate time\u201d. An old, knowledgeable woman, seeing this, says \u201cHer position is sinking; her eminence is so great; when such is the case, why are they so lackadaisical? Are they not her parents?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>uRuginRa kanmangaL mElana OrppilarAy ivaLaip<br \/>\n<\/em><em>peRuginRa thAyar meynondhu peRArgol thuzhAy kuzhal vAyth<br \/>\n<\/em><em>thuRuginRalar thollai vEngadamAttavum sUzhginRalar<br \/>\n<\/em><em>iRuginRadhAl ivaLAgam mellAvi eri koLLavE<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Word-by-Word Meanings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>mel<\/em> \u2013 being soft<br \/>\n<em>Avi<\/em> \u2013 (her) vital air<br \/>\n<em>eri<\/em> \u2013 the fire of separation<br \/>\n<em>koLLa<\/em> \u2013 is swallowing her<br \/>\n<em>ivaL<\/em> \u2013 this <em>nAyaki<\/em>\u2019s<br \/>\n<em>Agam<\/em> \u2013 form<br \/>\n<em>iRuginRadhu<\/em> \u2013 is perishing<br \/>\n<em>mElana<\/em> \u2013 what is going to happen<br \/>\n<em>uRuginRa<\/em> \u2013 approaching closely<br \/>\n<em>kanmangaL<\/em> \u2013 deeds to be carried out<br \/>\n<em>OrppilarAy<\/em> \u2013 without enquiring about them<br \/>\n<em>thuzhAy<\/em> \u2013 divine thuLasi<br \/>\n<em>kuzhal vAy<\/em> \u2013 on her locks<br \/>\n<em>thuRuginRinar<\/em> \u2013 they are not applying<br \/>\n<em>thollai<\/em> \u2013 being ancient<br \/>\n<em>vEngadam<\/em> \u2013 in the pond of thiruvEngadam<br \/>\n<em>Attavum<\/em> \u2013 giving her a bath<br \/>\n<em>sUzhginRilar<\/em> \u2013 they are not attempting<br \/>\n<em>ivaLai<\/em> \u2013 this distinguished <em>nAyaki<br \/>\n<\/em><em>peRuginRa<\/em> \u2013 those who begot<br \/>\n<em>thAyar<\/em> \u2013 mothers<br \/>\n<em>mey nondhu<\/em> \u2013 with the body in pain<br \/>\n<em>peRAr kol<\/em> \u2013 did they not give birth to?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Simple Translation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fire of separation is slowly destroying the <em>nAyaki<\/em>\u2019s soft life. Her mothers do not seem to know the distinguished activities which will remove her distress. They are not applying the divine thuLasi, worn by sarvESvaran. They are not giving her a bath in the pond at the ancient thiruvEngadam. It appears that her mothers did not give birth to her, after suffering severe pain in their bodies [implying that she is not born to them but probably adopted].<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>uRuginRa<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0 The old lady is wondering whether there is no activity to be performed by them [relatives of <em>nAyaki<\/em>] considering the relationship between them and the <em>nAyaki<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>uruginRa kanmangaL mElana OrppilarAy<\/strong> \u2013\u00a0 the <em>nAyaki<\/em> is not well. They have to take some actions for that. Though the time has come now for taking those actions, they seem to be undecided about the actions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ivaLaippeRuginRa thAyar<\/strong> \u2013 should her mothers not be worried about her situation? Do they have to think whether their actions would be beneficial or not? Is it not enough that she is the daughter that they had sired?<\/p>\n<p><strong>mey nondhu peRAr kol<\/strong> \u2013 didn\u2019t her mothers give birth to her after suffering pangs of pain during labour? Or, did they adopt her from someone and bring her up?<\/p>\n<p>What is the reason for the old lady to say like this?<\/p>\n<p><strong>thuzhAy kuzhalvAyth thuRuginRalar<\/strong> \u2013 The time for carrying out the action which had been mentioned in thiruviruththam pAsuram 53 <em>maNNAyinum koNdu vIsuminE<\/em> has passed. Now, it is not sufficient to blow divine thuLasi or any of its connected entities such as stem or root or soil. Now they have to decorate her locks with thuLasi such that it is fully covering her locks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>thollai . . . <\/strong>\u2013 they do not seem carry out any of the remedial measures which the people of their clan had done in the past.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vEngadam Attavum<\/strong> \u2013 the place which is full of stones and forests, appears to be a pond for the <em>nAyaki<\/em>. Just as it has been said in mahAbhAratham mOksha dharmam 4-50 <em>Esha brahma pravishtOsmi<\/em> \u2013 they are not immersing her in the pond of parabrahmam (sarvESvaran) to give her a bath.<\/p>\n<p><strong>sUzhginRalar<\/strong> \u2013 they may not do that. They are not taking the initial steps for that; they are not enquiring about what is to be done. Would enquiring about it be sufficient to improve her situation? Since it is a matter related to sarvESvaran, the minute they take the first steps, it would start yielding the benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Should the disease as well as the remedy be fully analysed before doing anything?<\/p>\n<p><strong>iRuginRadhAl ivaL Agam<\/strong> \u2013 would her nature tolerate such a lengthy process?
