Thus I am without (any) lord other than you and you too are not having (anyone) other than me as the target of your mercy. This relationship which was caused by your mercy must be protected and do not abandon it.<\/p>\n<p><b>SlOkam 52<\/b> \u2013<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\"> emperumAn<\/a> says \u201cMy protection will be according to the nature of the soul; ascertaining your own nature, you submit yourself unto me\u201d and<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/alavandhar\/\"> ALavandhAr<\/a> as done [by<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\"> nammAzhwAr<\/a>] in<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/06\/thiruvaimozhi-2-9-5-sirappil-vidu\/\"> thiruvAimozhi 2.9.5<\/a> \u201c<i>siRappil vIdu<\/i>\u201c, says \u201cthere is no such restriction for me; this entity (me) which is known as AthmA, is submitted unto the divine feet of your highness\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><i>vapurAdhishu yO\u2019pi kO\u2019pi vA<br \/>\n<\/i><i>guNathO\u2019sAni yathAthathAvidha: |<br \/>\n<\/i><i>thadhayam thava pAdhapadhmayO:<br \/>\n<\/i><i>ahamadhyaiva mayA samarpitha: ||<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Let me be any one among SarIram (body) etc and characteristically be of any nature [svarUpa \u2013 nature and guNa \u2013 qualities]; [I have no restriction on such aspect] thus, this entity, called as AthmA, is submitted by me at your divine lotus feet right now.<\/p>\n<p><b>SlOkam 53<\/b> \u2013<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\"> emperumAn<\/a> mercifully thinks \u201cHow can I let<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/alavandhar\/\"> ALavandhAr<\/a> be bewildered?\u201d and asks \u201cWho are you and to whom did you submit yourself?\u201d ALavandhAr determined [his own nature], as said in thiruvAimozhi 2.3.4 \u201c<i>enadhAvi Aviyum nI \u2026 enadhAvi yAr? yAnAr?<\/i>\u201c, says \u201cYou have accepted your own possession; even Athma samarpaNam (submitting oneself) is like AthmApahAram (stealing the AthmA)\u201d and regrets his act of submitting the self.<\/p>\n<p><i>mama nAtha ! yadhasthi yO\u2019smyaham<br \/>\n<\/i><i>sakalam thadhdhi thavaiva mAdhava |<br \/>\n<\/i><i>niyathasvamithi prabudhdhadhI:<br \/>\n<\/i><i>athavA kinnu samarpayAmi thE ||<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Oh<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\"> emperumAn<\/a> who is sarvasvAmi (lord of all) and lakshmI nAtha (divine consort of<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sri-mahalakshmi\/\"> SrI mahAlakshmi<\/a>)! All of whatever is owned by me and I who am existing are always owned by you only. What can I, knowing this, submit for you?<\/p>\n<p><b>SlOkam 54<\/b> \u2013<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/alavandhar\/\"> ALavandhAr<\/a> says to<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\"> emperumAn<\/a> \u201cSince I am not stopping with this<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\"> Athma<\/a> samarpaNam which is an act of stealing the<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\"> AthmA<\/a>, as you revealed this SEshathvam (servitude of mine towards you) out of your unconditional grace, please bestow me the three levels of para bhakthi out of your grace so that this knowledge is used in the goal (service to you)\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><i>avabOdhithavAnimAm yathA<br \/>\n<\/i><i>mayi nithyAm bhavadhIyathAm svayam |<br \/>\n<\/i><i>krupayaithadhananyabhOgyathAm<br \/>\n<\/i><i>bhagavan! bhakthimapi prayachcha mE ||<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Oh my lord! As you instructed\u00a0 this servitude in me by your unconditional grace, kindly bestow me the sweetness of devotion [towards you] as well, which is found in nothing else.<\/p>\n<p><b>SlOkam 55<\/b> \u2013<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/alavandhar\/\"> ALavandhAr<\/a>, after attaining abundance of bhakthi by<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\"> bhagavAn<\/a>\u2018s mercy, instead of stopping with SEshathvam (servitude) towards bhagavAn, prays for thadhIya SEshathvam (servitude towards bhagavAn\u2019s devotees).<\/p>\n<p><i>thava dhAsyasukhaikasanginAm<br \/>\n<\/i><i>bhavanEShvasthvapi kItajanma mE |<br \/>\n<\/i><i>itharAvasathEshu mA sma bhUth<br \/>\n<\/i><i>api mE janma chathurmukhAthmanA ||<\/i><\/p>\n<p>I should be born even as a worm in the divine palace (residence) of those who are engaged in the joy of servitude. Even to be born as brahmA in the residence of others, shall not occur for me.<\/p>\n<p><b>SlOkam 56<\/b> \u2013<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/alavandhar\/\"> ALavandhAr<\/a> says \u201cDo I need all the glories of being born in a vaishNava\u2019s residence? You should make me qualified such that when they see me, instead of pushing me aside, they should bestow their special mercy unto me, considering me as \u2018He is mine\u2019\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><i>sakruth thvadhAkAravilOkanASayA<br \/>\n<\/i><i>thruNIkruthAnuththamabhukthibhi: |<br \/>\n<\/i><i>mahAthmabhir mAmavalOkyathAm naya<br \/>\n<\/i><i>kshaNEpi thE yadhvirahO\u2019thidhussaha: ||<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Make me qualified to be mercifully glanced by those great vaishNavas, whose separation is very intolerable for you, those who have great pleasures and liberation and yet consider these aspects to be as good as a blade of grass in comparison to just seeing your divine form once.<\/p>\n<p><b>SlOkam 57<\/b> \u2013 In the previous pAsuram,<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/alavandhar\/\"> ALavandhAr<\/a> meditated upon the ultimate state of SEshathvam (servitude) which is thadhIya SEshathvam (servitude towards<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\"> bhagavAn<\/a>\u2018s devotees).\u00a0 Here, he highlights his aversion towards those which are outside SEshathvam and prays to<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\"> emperumAn<\/a> \u201cKindly eliminate them\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><i>na dhEham na prANAnna cha sukhamaSEShbhilashitham<br \/>\n<\/i><i>na chAthmAnam nAnyath kimapi thava SEshathvavibhavAth |<br \/>\n<\/i><i>bahirbhUtham nAtham! kshaNamapi sahE yAthu SathadhA<br \/>\n<\/i><i>vinASam thathsathyam madhumadhana! vigyApanamidham ||<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Oh my lord! Anything outside the wealth of being surrendered to you, I will not tolerate even for a moment my body, vital airs, those pleasures which are desired by everyone and my own<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\"> AthmA<\/a> (self) which are devoid of servitude; let (all these aspects which are devoid of servitude) disappear. Oh my lord who killed madhu (the demon)! This is the truth; this is (my) request.<\/p>\n<p><b>SlOkam 58<\/b> \u2013<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\"> emperumAn<\/a> wonders \u201cIn this samsAram where there are many inauspicious aspects such as bhagavath apachAram (offense towards<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\"> bhagavAn<\/a>) etc which cause anger [in me], to be freed from hurdles for kainkaryam, having acquired aversion for them, you are praying for elimination of the same, which is difficult to attain even for yOgis!\u201d and<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/alavandhar\/\"> ALavandhAr<\/a> says \u201cI desire for that thinking about the unlimited auspicious qualities of your highness which can remove endless inauspicious aspects\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><i>dhuranthasyAnAthErapariharaNIyasya mahathO<br \/>\n<\/i><i>nihInAchArO\u2019ham nrupaSuraSubhasyApadhamapi |<br \/>\n<\/i><i>dhayAsindhO! bandhO! niravadhikavAthsalyajaladhE<br \/>\n<\/i><i>thava smAram smAram guNagaNamidhIchchAmi gathabhI: ||<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Oh my lord who is an ocean of mercy! Oh one who is all types of relationships to me! Oh one who is like an ocean of boundless motherly love! Though I am the abode of great sins which are without a beginning or end and are impossible to eliminate, I am desiring in this way, being fearless due to remembering again and again your auspicious qualities.<\/p>\n<p><b>SlOkam 59<\/b> \u2013 emperumAn asks \u201cAre you truly desirous [of me] as said in \u2018<i>ichchAmi<\/i>\u2018 [in the previous SlOkam]?\u201d and<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/alavandhar\/\"> ALavandhAr<\/a> replies \u201cI who am dull-minded cannot express in your divine presence that I have the desire which matches your greatness. You should reform my mind by accepting the words expressed by me highlighting my desire and make that truly occur in me\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><i>anichchannapyEvam yadhi punaridhIchchanniva rajas-<br \/>\n<\/i><i>thamaSchannaSchadhmasthuthivachanabhangImarachayam |<br \/>\n<\/i><i>thathA\u2019pIththamrUpam vachanavalambyA\u2019pi krupayA<br \/>\n<\/i><i>thvamEvaivambhUtham dharaNidhara! mE Sikshaya mana: ||<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Oh emperumAn who lifted up the earth!
