first having immersed in <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s qualities, with so much love, just based on my connection with you, you have the ways of connecting me up to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s devotees, says to his mind.<\/p>\n<p><em>pEyp piRavip pUriyarOdu uLLa suRRam pularththi <\/em>\u2013 removing without any trace my connection with those bad people who are like asuras; similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">periyAzhwAr <\/a>saying in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/06\/thiruppallandu-3-vazhatpattu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppallANdu &#8211; 3<\/a>, \u2018<em>kuAzh AL pattu ninRIrgaLai engaL kuzhuvinil pugudhal ottOm<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><em>pEyp piRavi<\/em> \u2013 birth of people with bad attitudes; bad in nature by birth;<\/p>\n<p><em>pUriyar<\/em> \u2013 such bad people (who consider <em>us<\/em> to be bad due to our devotion)<\/p>\n<p><em>poruvarum sIr<\/em> \u2013 (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) having auspicious qualities that cannot be compared to anything since there is nothing equivalent.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ariyan<\/em> \u2013 (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) well versed in all the sAsthras; being an AchAryan to all the devotees of this world and for thiruvEnkatam udaiyAn. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">jIyar<\/a> too said in upadhEsa raththina mAlai \u2013 <em>than Ariyanukku &#8211; <\/em> using the word Aryan to imply AchAryan.<\/p>\n<p><em>chemmai<\/em> \u2013 (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) conducted himself as how he determined in his mind and also advised others (thus having alignment of mind, speech, and bodily actions \u2013 karaNa thrayam);<\/p>\n<p><em>irAmAnusa munikku<\/em> \u2013 muni \u2013 deeply thinks about wellness of others; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> who deeply thinks about the reason for his incarnation; <em>kku<\/em> \u2013 towards such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>anbu cheyyum sIriya pEr udaiyAr<\/em> \u2013 with their mind that extremely loves <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>, and with the clear conclusion in their mind that that love is what defines them \u2013 such devotees like <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/kurathazhwan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhwAn<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/kooresa.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3708\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/kooresa.jpg\" alt=\"kooresa\" width=\"331\" height=\"444\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/kooresa.jpg 735w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/kooresa-224x300.jpg 224w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 331px) 100vw, 331px\" \/><\/a><em>AzhwAn and mudhaliyANdAn surrendering to swAmi<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>adikkIzh<\/em> \u2013 to their divine feet (of such devotees of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>ennaich chErththadharkkE \u2013 by making such divine feet of devotees to be ornaments in my head; for setting me to understand charama parva nishtai (last frontier of subservience) which I was ignorant of earlier; whereas it was me who should have advised it (mind), it connected me (purushakAram) to the divine feet of such devotees, thanks <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amudhanAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If I analyse what I could do to the mind in return for such a grand favour&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><em>adi paNindhEn unnai<\/em> \u2013 got your (mind) divine feet as support; fell on your (mind) feet; (as there is not equivalent I could do in return)<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">jIyar <\/a>prayed for devotion towards devotees like <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/kurathazhwan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kUraththAzhwan<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/14\/thirukkurugaippiran-pillan-english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thirukkurugaip pirAn piLLAn<\/a>, et al, (<em>vAcha yathIndhra! manasA vapushA cha yushmath ..<\/em>), <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amudhanAr<\/a>\u2019s mind has already first showed him the divine feet of the devotees of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rAmAnujar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>{ AzhwAr thirunagari srI U.Ve. vidhwAn thirumalai nallAn chakravarththi <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">rAmakrishNa iyengAr<\/span> swami has written a wonderful vyAkyAnam\/description text for rAmAnusa nURRanthadhi titled \u2018amudha virundhu\u2019. A few lines from that are provided here. }<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>mana Eva manushyANAm kAraNam bandha mOkshayO: \u00ad &#8211; <\/em> it is the (make up of the) mind that is the cause of being tied here or of mOksham (release).<\/p>\n<p>In this pAsuram he does not use the word \u2018my\u2019 when referring to the mind (unlike in the earlier two pAsurams) &#8211; because of the magnanimity shown by his mind towards him, he is treating it as a separate entity and falling at its feet.<\/p>\n<p><em>adi paNindhEn unnai<\/em> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/azhwars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhwArs <\/a>have sung about mind, either praising it when connecting to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>, or sometimes their mind would leave them to be immersed in <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>; so <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/azhwars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhwArs <\/a>would resort to birds etc., for connecting them to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a> and they would fall of such creatures\u2019 feet; but here <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amudhanAr<\/a>\u2019s mind helped him reach (the devotees), and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amudhanAr <\/a>is falling at the feet of the mind itself, which none of the <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/azhwars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azhwars <\/a>seem to have done. <a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/azhwars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhwArs <\/a>hugged their mind and praised it, but here <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amudhanAr <\/a>is falling at its divine feet &#8211; isn&#8217;t it apt to fall at the feet of those who helped us get connection with the devotees?<\/p>\n<p><em>pEi piRavi<\/em> \u2013 birth (people) that does not approach <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a> is referred to as pEi piRavi.<\/p>\n<p><em>poruvarum sIr<\/em> \u2013 why is there no comparison to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s qualities that save us? In case of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">perumAn,<\/a> due to his independent nature (swAthanthriyam) his qualities like kindness would not be in currency; in case of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pirAtti <\/a>she has to channel it through <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">perumAn<\/a>; but in case of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>, he can directly and fully show his mercy on us.
