previous (pU mannu mAdhu)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>avathArikai (Introduction)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the previous pAsuram, as <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amudhanAr <\/a>advised along with his mind, his mind started immersing in the auspicious quality that is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s nature of interacting with even lowly ones like him; and the mind was enjoying the divine feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amudhanAr <\/a>wonders how this has happened so!<\/p>\n<p>In this pAsuram <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amudhanAr <\/a>says that his mind is not thinking anything other than the seela guNam (interacting well with everyone without considering his own greatness \u2013 excellence of disposition), and he wonders how he could have gotten this benefit without any efforts!<\/p>\n<p><em>kaLLAr pozhil thennarangan kamalap padhangaL nenjil <\/em><br \/>\n<em>koLLA manisarai nIngi kuRaiyal pirAnadikkIzh <\/em><br \/>\n<em> viLLAdha anban irAmAnusan mikka seelamallAl<\/em><br \/>\n<em> uLLAthu en nenju onRu aRiyEn enakku uRRa pEr iyalvE<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/yourlisten.com\/sarathy.thothathri\/ramanusa-nurranthadhi-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Listen<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%;\" src=\"\/\/yourlisten.com\/embed\/html5?17500741\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Word by word meanings (provided by <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>kaL Ar pozhil<\/em> \u2013 (Having) gardens with lot of honey<br \/>\n<em>then<\/em> \u2013 (which is) beautiful, spectacular (that is thiruvarangam), [\u2018then\u2019 also means South, but thiruvarangam is not in south for many <a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/2012\/10\/archavathara-anubhavam-azhwars-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvArs<\/a>; so perhaps <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mAmunigaL<\/a> has carefully provided another meaning for \u2018then\u2019]<br \/>\n<em>arangan<\/em> \u2013 since he is lying in the serpent here, he is amicable to be identified by the name of that place itself (thiru arangam); that is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">periya perumAL<\/a>,<br \/>\n<em>kamalap<\/em> <em>padhangaL<\/em> \u2013 (His) divine feet that are enjoyable like the good qualities of blooming lotus,<br \/>\n<em>nenjil<\/em> <em>koLLA<\/em> \u2013 (and) those who do not ever think of it (the divine feet),<br \/>\n<em>manisarai<\/em> \u2013 even though they have been born as humans and are eligible\/able to enjoy (the divine feet),<br \/>\n<em>neengi<\/em> \u2013 (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) moved away (from such people), and<br \/>\n<em>viLLAdha<\/em> \u2013 stays without any separation<br \/>\n<em>adikkIzh<\/em> \u2013 under the divine feet of,<br \/>\n<em>kuRaiyal<\/em> \u2013 the one having thiruk kuRaiyalUr as his birth place,<br \/>\n<em>pirAn<\/em> \u2013 who has helped the world by his <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dhivyaprabandhams<\/a> (that being one of his main helps), that is, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thirumangai AzhwAr<\/a>,<br \/>\n<em>irAmAnusan<\/em> \u2013 (such) <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a><br \/>\n<em>anban<\/em> \u2013 who is kind and friendly,<br \/>\n<em>en<\/em> <em>nenju<\/em> \u2013 my mind\/heart<br \/>\n<em>onRu<\/em> <em>uLLAdhu<\/em> \u2013 does not think about anything else<br \/>\n<em>mikka seelam allAl<\/em> \u2013 than his infinite seelam (interacting easily with me the lowly one);<br \/>\n<em>enakku uRRa pEr iyalvu<\/em> \u2013 this is a great sort that I have got<br \/>\n<em>onRu aRiyEn<\/em> \u2013 and don\u2019t know how that happened.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam (provided by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/08\/pillai-lokam-jiyar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">piLLai lOkam jIyar<\/a>)<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>kaLLAr pozhil <\/em>\u2013 surrounded by gardens with flowers everywhere, and those flowers are pregnant with honey; like said in pAsurams of <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2014\/12\/thiruppalliyezhuchchi-1-kathiravan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruppaLLiyezhuchchi 1<\/a> \u2013 \u2018<em>madhu irundhu ozhugina mAmalar ellam\u2019 <\/em>(there is lot of honey flowing from the big flowers), and in <em>vAn thigazhum sOlai madhiL arangar\u2019<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/03\/thiruvaimozhi-thaniyans-invocation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thiruvAimozhi thaniyan<\/a>].<\/p>\n<p><em>then arangan<\/em> \u2013 the thiruvarangam is beautiful, and the swAmi (master) who has stayed put in such a place is being identified by the name of such a place; you see, this is the important name for this place.<\/p>\n<p><em>kamalap padhangaL<\/em> &#8211; the lotus-like feet (of thiruvarangan); they are like purifying medicine; removes the difficulties of the samsAram; instead of saying \u2018pAdha kamalam\u2019, said \u2018kamalam\u2019 first, since he (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) fully got immersed in its enjoyable nature.<\/p>\n<p><em>nenjil koLLA manisarai \u2013 <\/em>(from those) who are not involved in thinking about such divine feet even though they are born as humans who are able to \/ eligible for doing such divine activities; they are mentioned as those who lost the great opportunity when in the womb itself (garbha nirbhAgyar).<\/p>\n<p><em>neengi<\/em> \u2013 moved away (from such people); won over those who denied or misrepresented the vEdhas;<\/p>\n<p><em>kuRaiyal pirAn <\/em>\u2013 born in thiruk kuRaiyalUr, he wrote <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/\">dhivya prabandhams<\/a>, set up <a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/2013\/11\/anadhyayana-kalam-and-adhyayana-uthsavam.html\">(adhyayana) uthsavam<\/a> to be celebrated on EkAdhasi during thiruvadhyayanam; built protective walls around the temple, won those who were on the side of rudhran and re-established the <a href=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\/\">dhivya dhEsams<\/a> affected by them; such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thirumangai AzhwAr<\/a> who helped in so many ways for the sampradhAyam;<\/p>\n<p>There is another opinion about it in this place: <em>kuRaiyal pirAn &#8211; <\/em> to imply <em>kuRaivu onRum illAdha gOvindhA<\/em> [thiruppAvai 29], that is krishNan. He helped the gOpikAs as indhran performed abhishEkam; helped pANdavas, and so on; the prime help being giving us the charama slOkam;<\/p>\n<p>But since the <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/\">pUrvAchAryas<\/a> have implied thirumangai mannan only here, the first meaning shall stand.<\/p>\n<p>adikkIzh \u2013 under the feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thirumangai AzhwAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/thirumangai-azhwar.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3051\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/thirumangai-azhwar.jpg\" alt=\"thirumangai-azhwar\" width=\"296\" height=\"394\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/thirumangai-azhwar.jpg 600w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/thirumangai-azhwar-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 296px) 100vw, 296px\" \/><\/a><em>Thiruvali thirunagari &#8211; emperumAnAr at the divine feet of thirumangai azhvar<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>viLLAdha anban \u2013 <\/em>this <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhvAr <\/a>is prathama parva nishtar, so would always be praying to aNi pozhil thiruvarangaththu ammAn; this <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr <\/a>is charama parva nishtar, so would always be having bhakthi towards this <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhwAr<\/a>; viLLAdha \u2013 not separating; anban -&gt; one having bhakthi.<\/p>\n<p><em>irAmAnusan \u2013 <\/em>You see, in previous avathAram as he was following srI rAma, that impression is still present in this avathAram and have reached the charama parvam (ultimate state), and so involved in bhakthi towards the <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhwAr<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p><em>mikka seelam allAl<\/em> \u2013 even though he is mighty and noble (mahAnubhAvar), he has socialized with ones having lowly knowledge like me. Having immersed in such seelam (such a quality) of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAnAr<\/a>, and the mind is not going into anything else.<\/p>\n<p><em>uLLAdhu<\/em> \u2013 not think about (anything else)<\/p>\n<p><em>en nenju<\/em> \u2013 my mind; the mind that was advised by me (to recite the names of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rAmAnujar<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><em>onRu aRiyEn enakkuRRa pEr iyalvE &#8211; <\/em> What a wonder!
