Therefore, he is called \u2018bhArabhruth\u2019 \u2013 the one who takes on the responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn bears the responsibility of liberating the bounded souls (desiring mOksha) from the shackles of samsAra and eventually enabling them in attaining him, he is called \u2018bhArabhruth\u2019. This is evident from all the scriptures, which hail the auspicious qualities of bhagavAn immensely. This attribute of bhagavAn is shown in this divine name \u2018kathitha:\u2019, which means he is the one who is immensely hailed by the scriptures.<\/p>\n<p>This can be illustrated thus from the scriptures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cOh bhagavAn, you are hailed in all vEdhas, upanishaths, all limbs of the vEdhas, purANas, ithihAsas, etc\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOh scion of the bharatha clan, bhagavAn vishNu is glorified in the beginning, middle and end of (in other words, throughout) the various scriptures such as vEdhas, SrI rAmAyaNa, SrIman mahAbhAratha, etc\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cHe is the one who is hailed by every word in the scriptures\u201d, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Etymology: He who is hailed by the scriptures for his possession of all auspicious qualities is called \u2018kathitha:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0909\u0915\u094d\u0924\u0903 \u0936\u093e\u0938\u094d\u0924\u094d\u0930\u0946\u0937\u0941 \u0915\u0925\u093f\u0924\u0903 \u092f\u0903 \u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0917\u0941\u0923\u0935\u0924\u094d\u0924\u092f\u093e |<\/p>\n<p>853) <u>yOgI<\/u> (\u092f\u094a\u0917\u0940)<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn is called \u2018yOgI\u2019 because he is capable of making all these (the feats expounded till now) happen. The word \u2018yOga:\u2019 (\u092f\u094a\u0917\u0903) means that with which two things are united. It is also a great capability of making impossible things happen. This attribute is present in bhagavAn to a great extent at all times, which is why he is called \u2018yOgI\u2019 \u2013 the one with yOga.<\/p>\n<p>The scriptures hail thus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cOh arjuna, see my yOga (powers) in its entirety\u201d (viSvarUpa pradharSanam)<\/li>\n<li>\u201c&#8230;where the lord of all yOgas \u2013 krishNa \u2013 resides&#8230;\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201c&#8230;that yOga, which is obtained by the lord of yOgas \u2013 krishNa himself&#8230;\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe supreme lord hari is a great master of all yOgas\u201d, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Etymology: The word \u2018yOga:\u2019 means to accomplish a feat which is otherwise impossible for anyone else. He is therefore called \u2018yOgISa:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The vishNu purANa hails thus: \u201cbhagavAn is the one who further sanctified the already pure souls such as sanandhana, et al.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The master of all yOgis such as sanaka, sanandhana, et al is called \u2018yOgISa:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u092f\u094a\u0917\u0940\u0936\u0903 \u0938\u0928\u0915\u093e\u0926\u0940\u0928\u093e\u0902 \u092f\u094a\u0917\u093f\u0928\u093e\u0902 \u0927\u0941\u0930\u094d\u092f \u0909\u091a\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0946 |<\/p>\n<p>855) <u>sarvakAmadha:<\/u> (\u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0915\u093e\u092e\u0926\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn is himself the one who bestows the desired lowly material rewards such as the eight siddhis (aNima, mahima, etc) even for those who slip from the discipline of \u2018yOga\u2019 (of single minded contemplation on bhagavAn without desiring such lowly benefits). Thus, he is called \u2018sarvakAmadha:\u2019 \u2013 the bestower of all desires.<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn himself claims thus in the <a href=\"http:\/\/githa.koyil.org\">bhagavath gIthA<\/a>: \u201c&#8230; (such souls with a desire in heart) shall enjoy the pleasures in the higher worlds (heaven, etc) for a long time, and shall be reborn in the house of an austere devotee after fulfilling all their desires\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn bestows all the desired benefits such as aNima, etc (the eight sidhdhis) upon those who slip away from the discipline of yOga \u2013 as a break in their endeavour to attain mukthi, he is called \u2018sarvakAmadha:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0905\u0923\u093f\u092e\u093e\u0926\u0940\u0928\u094d \u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0915\u093e\u092e\u093e\u0928\u094d \u092f\u094a\u0917\u0938\u094d\u0916\u0932\u093f\u0924\u092f\u094a\u0917\u093f\u0928\u093e\u092e\u094d |<br \/>\u0905\u0928\u094d\u0924\u0930\u093e\u092f\u0924\u092f\u093e \u092e\u0941\u0915\u094d\u0924\u0946\u0903 \u0926\u0926\u0924\u094d\u0938\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0924\u094d \u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0915\u093e\u092e\u0926\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>856) <u>ASrama:<\/u> (\u0906\u0936\u094d\u0930\u092e\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, bhagavAn himself pulls back such deviated souls (who strayed away from the path of yOga, as seen in the previous divine name) from wrong ways and places them in the houses of vaishNavas \u2013 who are well versed in the knowledge pertaining to the supreme brahman. In this way, bhagavAn puts such souls to rest. Thus, he is called \u2018ASrama:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>As seen before, bhagavAn himself declares thus in bhagavath gIthA: \u201c&#8230; (such yOgis who have enjoyed the material benefits for a while amidst their endeavour) shall eventually be born in the houses of the learned scholars\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He, who provides asylum to the souls \u2013 who had gone astray from the path of yOga \u2013 in the house of learned SrI vaishNavas who are well taught about the supreme brahman, is called \u2018ASrama:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0924\u0946\u0937\u093e\u0902 \u0924\u0941 \u092f\u094a\u0917\u092d\u094d\u0930\u0937\u094d\u091f\u093e\u0928\u093e\u0902 \u0939\u0946\u0924\u0941\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0948\u0937\u094d\u0923\u0935\u0938\u0926\u094d\u092e\u0938\u0941 |<br \/>\u0938\u0941\u092d\u093f\u0915\u094d\u0937\u092a\u0930\u0935\u093f\u0926\u094d\u092f\u0946\u0937\u0941 \u0935\u093f\u0936\u094d\u0930\u093e\u0928\u094d\u0924\u0946\u0930\u093e\u0936\u094d\u0930\u092e \u0938\u094d\u092e\u0943\u0924\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>857) <u>SramaNa:<\/u> (\u0936\u094d\u0930\u092e\u0923\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>Although the deviated souls have desired for some temporary material benefits amidst their samAdhi, bhagavAn still retains their \u2018samskAra\u2019 (the subtle impressions) of samAdhi and resumes their endeavour from where they left \u2013 without any difficulties. Thus, bhagavAn becomes instrumental in making such fallen souls resume their journey on the path of samAdhi. Therefore, he is called \u2018SramaNa:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The root \u2018Sram\u2019 \u0936\u094d\u0930\u092e\u094d (to exert) gets the \u2018ana\u2019 (\u0905\u0928) adjunct, which changes to \u2018aNa\u2019 (\u0905\u0923) as per grammatical rules, resulting in this divine name.<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn says thus in the bhagavath gIthA: \u201cHaving born in such pious families of vaishNavas, such souls shall regain their knowledge from where they left in their earlier births\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: bhagavAn resumes the spiritual endeavours of deviated souls in their subsequent births by retaining their impressions of earlier samAdhi \u2013 which are never lost even when they are enjoying the lowly temporary fruits for a while. Thus, he is called \u2018SramaNa:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0905\u0915\u094d\u0937\u0940\u0923\u092a\u0942\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0938\u0902\u0938\u094d\u0915\u093e\u0930\u0948\u0903 \u091c\u0928\u094d\u092e\u0928\u093es\u0928\u0941\u092d\u0935\u0946\u0928 \u0938\u0903 |<br \/>\u0936\u094d\u0930\u092e\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0946s\u092d\u094d\u092f\u0938\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0946s\u0928\u0946\u0928\u00a0 \u0936\u094d\u0930\u092e\u0923\u0903 \u092a\u0930\u093f\u0915\u0940\u0930\u094d\u0924\u093f\u0924\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>858) <u>kshAma:<\/u> (\u0915\u094d\u0937\u093e\u092e\u0903) (also seen in 444)<\/p>\n<p>In this way, bhagavAn enables even the fallen individual souls who deviate from the path of yOga to cross the mighty ocean of samsAra \u2013 even if they just show their willingness to be in communion with himself later. Thus, he is called \u2018kshAma:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The root \u2018ksham\u2019 \u0915\u094d\u0937\u092e\u094d (capacity) gets the \u2018ghanj\u2019 (\u0918\u0919\u094d) adjunct, resulting in this divine name.<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn declares thus in the bhagavath gIthA: \u201cOh arjuna! No individual soul who has practiced yOga (samAdhi) before shall be doomed at any cost (even if they seem to deviate for some time)\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He, by whom the fallen souls who have deviated from the pursuit of yOga (communion with bhagavAn) are also enabled to resume their practice and cross the ocean of samsAra \u2013 merely upon showing their willingness to come back, is called \u2018kshAma:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u092f\u094a\u0917\u093e\u092d\u093f\u092e\u0941\u0916\u094d\u092f\u092e\u093e\u0924\u094d\u0930\u0946\u0923 \u092f\u094a\u0917\u092d\u094d\u0930\u0937\u094d\u091f\u093e \u0905\u092a\u093f \u0938\u094d\u0935\u092f\u092e\u094d |<br \/>\u092f\u0938\u094d\u092e\u093e\u0924\u094d \u0915\u094d\u0937\u092e\u0928\u094d\u0924\u0946 \u0938 \u0915\u094d\u0937\u093e\u092e\u094a \u092d\u0935\u093e\u092c\u094d\u0927\u093f\u0924\u0930\u0923\u093e\u092f \u0935\u0948 ||<\/p>\n<p>859) <u>suparNa:<\/u> (\u0938\u0941\u092a\u0930\u094d\u0923\u0903) (also seen in 194)<\/p>\n<p>Having accomplished the complete state of samAdhi thus, and by maturity of such samAdhi, the individual soul crosses the darkness of material creation (samsAra) and reaches the supreme abode of SrIvaikuNtam. bhagavAn is the one who leads the souls in this endeavour. Thus, he is called \u2018suparNa:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The maula samhitha gives the meaning of this divine name thus: \u201cbhagavAn is the one who leads the individual souls unto his abode\u201d<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn himself declares thus: \u201cHaving matured in samAdhi over several births, the individual soul eventually attains the supreme state\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The one who leads the accomplishers of samAdhi beyond the darkness of ignorance (to the supreme abode of SrIvaikuNtam) \u2013 merely by virtue of their maturity in samAdhi \u2013 is called \u2018suparNa:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u092a\u094d\u0930\u0924\u094d\u092f\u093e\u092a\u0928\u094d\u0928\u0938\u092e\u093e\u0927\u0940\u0928\u094d \u092f\u0903 \u0938\u092e\u093e\u0927\u0946\u0903 \u092a\u0930\u093f\u092a\u093e\u0915\u0924\u0903 |<br \/>\u0928\u092f\u0924\u0946 \u0924\u092e\u0938\u0903 \u092a\u093e\u0930\u0902 \u0938\u0941\u092a\u0930\u094d\u0923\u0903 \u0938 \u091a \u0915\u0940\u0930\u094d\u0924\u093f\u0924\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>860) <u>vAyuvAhana:<\/u> (\u0935\u093e\u092f\u0941\u0935\u093e\u0939\u0928\u0903) (also seen in 333)<\/p>\n<p>Even if such fallen souls have deviated from the path of samAdhi due to strong reasons which cannot be avoided by them easily, bhagavAn still uplifts them by riding on his vehicle garuda, who flies with a blazing speed. Thus, he is called \u2018vAyuvAhana:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>This is shown in the scriptures in the case of a devotee (a \u2018vasu\u2019 born in the celestial world), who came down to earth due to a rishi\u2019s curse.
