Hence, he is called \u2018sannivAsa:\u2019 \u2013 the residence\/refuge of noble men.<\/p>\n<p>The vishNu purANa hails thus: \u201c&#8230;that bhagavAn, who is meditated upon by sages such as sanandhana et al, who are qualified in yOga (samAdhi) and freed of all sins \u2013 who place him in their minds and dwell upon him while half-closing their eyes and focussing on the tip of their nose (position prescribed for the practice of meditation)\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He \u2013 who is the refuge of noble men such as sanaka and others even while being born as a human being \u2013 is called \u2018sannivAsa:\u2019. He showed himself as the abode of all entities. Thus, as hailed in the scriptures that say \u201cOh bhagavAn hari! All entities reside in you. Hence you are called \u2018bhUthAvAsa:\u2019\u201d, he is called \u2018bhUthAvAsa:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He in whom all entities reside is called \u2018bhUthAvAsa:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u092f\u0938\u094d\u092e\u093f\u0928\u094d \u0935\u0938\u0928\u094d\u0924\u093f \u092d\u0942\u0924\u093e\u0928\u093f \u092d\u0942\u0924\u093e\u0935\u093e\u0938\u0938\u094d\u0938 \u0915\u0925\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0946 |<\/p>\n<p>714) <u>vAsudhEva:<\/u> (\u0935\u093e\u0938\u0941\u0926\u0946\u0935\u0903) (also repeated in 334, 700)<\/p>\n<p>Having born as the son of vasudhEva, bhagavAn removes twelve spiritual obstacles in the path of progress for his devotees (namely hunger, thirst, sorrow, passion, etc). Hence, he is called \u2018vAsudhEva:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, he is the one who is worshipped as one of the vyUha mUrthis with the twelve syllable vAsudhEva manthra. Hence, he is called \u2018sarvAsunilaya:\u2019 \u2013 the refuge of all souls.<\/p>\n<p>The scriptures show this in many ways, thus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cThe cows and cowherds cannot live without krishNa\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe entire land (people and creatures therein) rejoiced upon the arrival of krishNa, just as it would rejoice the arrival of sun in a dark place, and arrival of wind in an airless space\u201d, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Etymology: He who is the support of all lives is called \u2018sarvAsunilaya:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0938\u0941\u0928\u093f\u0932\u092f\u0903 \u0938 \u0938\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0924\u094d \u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u092a\u094d\u0930\u093e\u0923\u093e\u0935\u0932\u092e\u094d\u092c\u0928\u092e\u094d |<\/p>\n<p>716) <u>anala:<\/u> (\u0905\u0928\u0932\u0903) (also repeated in 294)<\/p>\n<p>Although bhagavAn does so much for his dear devotees \u2013 as seen in all the previous divine names, yet he is not satisfied with what he has done. Thus, he is called \u2018anala:\u2019 \u2013 the one who feels that his deeds unto his devotees are ever insufficient.<\/p>\n<p>This is beautifully shown in SrI mahAbhAratha, where krishNa says thus (while leaving this material world to reach his supreme abode): \u201cSince the time when dhraupadhi called out to me \u2013 who was far away at that moment \u2013 with the name \u2018gOvindha\u2019, I feel my debt has been increasing towards her, which is not leaving my heart whatsoever!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alternately, this divine name means the one who is intolerant towards any misdeeds unto his dear devotees. This is also shown in the same SrI mahAbhAratha, where krishNa declares thus: \u201cWhen I have decided to kill, I shall never spare two kinds of people; one \u2013 those who bring obstacles in the performance of any yajna, and two \u2013 those who trouble pANdavas\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Although having done every possible thing to protect his devotees (especially the cowherd folks), yet the one who feels discontented with such deeds and says \u201cAlas, I have done nothing for them\u201d is called \u2018anala:\u2019. Hence, he is called \u2018dharpadha:\u2019 \u2013 the one who gave (gives) egotism.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He who enhanced arrogance amongst the yAdhavas in many ways \u2013 such as by feeding them with liquor, inspiring them with his heroic deeds, etc \u2013 is called \u2018dharpadha:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u092e\u0927\u0941\u0930\u093e\u092f\u093e\u0902 \u092f\u093e\u0926\u0935\u0946\u092d\u094d\u092f\u094a \u092e\u0927\u0941\u092a\u093e\u0928\u093e\u0926\u093f\u0928\u093e \u0924\u0924\u0903 |<br \/>\u0926\u0930\u094d\u092a\u0902 \u091a \u0926\u0924\u094d\u0924\u0935\u093e\u0928\u094d \u092f\u094as\u0938\u094c \u0926\u0930\u094d\u092a\u0926\u0903 \u092a\u0930\u093f\u0915\u0940\u0930\u094d\u0924\u093f\u0924\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>719) <u>adhruptha: \/ dhruptha:<\/u> (\u0905\u0926\u0943\u092a\u094d\u0924\u0903 \/ \u0926\u0943\u092a\u094d\u0924\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>Although he gave arrogance to the yAdhavas, bhagavAn himself was aloof from such arrogance. Thus, he is called \u2018adhruptha:\u2019 \u2013 the humble one.<\/p>\n<p>The sabhAparva of SrI mahAbhAratha hails thus: \u201cHaving done such wondrous deeds, yet bhagavAn \u2013 who possesses garuda as his vehicle \u2013 was never excited and stayed calm with his supreme effulgence\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If this divine name is to be taken as \u2018dhruptha:\u2019 (\u0926\u0943\u092a\u094d\u0924\u0903) instead of \u2018adhruptha:\u2019, then it means that bhagavAn was proud of being brought up by yaSOdhA and nandhagOpa.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Although bhagavAn grew arrogance among the yAdhavas, yet since he was humble himself, he is called \u2018adhruptha:\u2019. In another way, since bhagavAn was proud of his being cuddled by yaSOdha and nandhagOpa during his childhood pastimes, he is called \u2018dhruptha:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0905\u0925\u093es\u092a\u094d\u092f\u0917\u0930\u094d\u0935\u093f\u0924\u094a \u092f\u094as\u0938\u093e\u0935\u0926\u0943\u092a\u094d\u0924\u0903 \u0938 \u0909\u0926\u093e\u0939\u0943\u0924\u0903 |<br \/>\u092c\u093e\u0932\u0932\u0940\u0932\u093e\u092a\u094d\u0930\u0938\u0919\u094d\u0917\u0946\u0937\u0941 \u092f\u0936\u094a\u0926\u093e\u0928\u0928\u094d\u0926\u0932\u093e\u0932\u0928\u093e\u0924\u094d \u0926\u0943\u092a\u094d\u0924\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>720) <u>dhurdhara:<\/u> (\u0926\u0941\u0930\u094d\u0927\u0930\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>Even while displaying his childhood sports, bhagavAn was incorrigible by either of his parents, just like a wild elephant. He possessed such divine actions which couldn\u2019t be controlled by anyone. Hence, he is called \u2018dhurdhara:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The vishNu purANa reflects this in mother yaSOdha\u2019s words when she has tied up krishNa to a grinding stone, who says thus &#8211; annoyed: \u201cYe naughty boy! Free yourself now and go, if you can\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alternately, he is the one who is invincible by his oppressors. Thus also he is called \u2018dhurdhara:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>This is shown in the udhyOga parva of SrI mahAbhAratha, thus: \u201cJust as small boys and girls try to hold burning fire with a cloth out of their ignorance, so also these foolish men are trying to catch that lotus eyed bhagavAn!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe air cannot be touched by hand. The moon cannot be touched by hand. This earth cannot be borne by anyone on their head.
