The one who resides in the milky ocean is called \u2018vasu:\u2019.<\/p>\n The scriptures have hailed thus:<\/p>\n Etymology: Since bhagavAn resides in the milky ocean in order to confer wellness upon all the worlds, he is called \u2018vasu:\u2019.<\/p>\n \u0935\u0938\u0924\u0940\u0924\u093f \u0935\u0938\u0941\u0930\u094d\u0932\u094a\u0915\u0939\u093f\u0924\u0946\u091a\u094d\u091b\u0941\u0903 \u0915\u094d\u0937\u0940\u0930\u0938\u093e\u0917\u0930\u0946 |<\/p>\n 702) vasumanA:<\/u> (\u0935\u0938\u0941\u092e\u0928\u093e\u0903) (also repeated in 106)<\/p>\n Although residing in the birthplace of SrI mahAlakshmi \u2013 the milky ocean, bhagavAn\u2019s mind is fixed on vasudhEva. Hence, he is called \u2018vasumanA:\u2019 \u2013 the one who fixed his mind in vasu (vasudhEva).<\/p>\n Just as \u2018dhEvadhaththa\u2019 is called \u2018dhaththa\u2019 in short, and just as \u2018sathyabhAmA\u2019 is called \u2018bhAmA\u2019 in short, so also \u2018vasudhEva\u2019 is called \u2018vasu\u2019 in short. Thus, he becomes the refuge for all noble souls. Hence he is called \u2018sadhgathi:\u2019.<\/p>\n The scriptures hail this trait of bhagavAn thus: \u201cThe hurricanes of distress are pacified by bhagavAn, and the noble souls enjoy enhanced bliss\u201d<\/p>\n Etymology: Since bhagavAn removed all sorrows of noble men caused by kamsa and others even while being just born, and thus showed himself as the only refuge for all such noble souls, he is called \u2018sadhgathi:\u2019.<\/p>\n \u0909\u0924\u094d\u092a\u0928\u094d\u0928 \u090f\u0935 \u0915\u0902\u0938\u093e\u0926\u093f\u0915\u0943\u0924\u092c\u093e\u0927\u093e\u092a\u0928\u094a\u0926\u0928\u093e\u0924\u094d | 705) sathkruthi:<\/u> (\u0938\u0924\u094d\u0915\u0943\u0924\u093f\u0903)<\/p>\n All the divine deeds such as stealing of butter, getting bound to a grinding stone, crawling with the stone, rAsakrIdA (a dance with the gOpis), etc \u2013 which are liberating in nature for every individual soul \u2013 are shown by bhagavAn. As shown here, since bhagavAn himself is the destiny for all noble souls, he is called \u2018sathparAyaNam\u2019.<\/p>\n bhagavAn also says thus: \u201c…you shall attain me\u201d<\/p>\n This name is generally in the neuter gender (sathparAyaNam). If this name is taken in the masculine gender (sathparAyaNa:), then it means bhagavAn has the noble souls as his destiny! This is also shown in the same scriptures.<\/p>\n bhagavAn declares thus in SrI mahAbhAratha: \u201cpANdavas are verily my life\u201d<\/p>\n It is also hailed thus in SrI mahAbhAratha: \u201cYou are the master for the pANdavas. We have taken refuge in you\u201d<\/p>\n bhagavAn declares thus in the bhagavath gIthA: \u201c…such a knowledgeable person is indeed my soul (although the scriptures say otherwise) in my opinion\u201d<\/p>\n Etymology: Since bhagavAn is the ultimate refuge for all noble souls, he is called \u2018sathparAyaNam\u2019.
