This is shown by the vEdhas themselves when they say \u201cbrahma is ought to be studied\u201d, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Such vEdhas are infinite. The scriptures have shown this fact as \u201cvEdhas are indeed infinite\u201d. Yet, bhagavAn confines them into a limit and knows them completely. Thus, he is called \u2018brahmavith\u2019 \u2013 the knower of brahma (vEdhas).<\/p>\n<p>The scriptures confirm this by saying thus: \u201cThe eternal vEdhas called \u2018brahma\u2019 are not known by either the dhEvas or rishis. They are known only by that bhagavAn nArAyaNa himself, who is the creator of all\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He who knows the infinite vEdhas in their entirety is called \u2018brahmavith\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u092f\u094a \u0935\u0946\u0926\u093e\u0928\u0928\u094d\u0924\u0924\u094a \u0935\u0946\u0924\u094d\u0924\u093f \u0938 \u092c\u094d\u0930\u0939\u094d\u092e\u0935\u093f\u0926\u0941\u0926\u0940\u0930\u093f\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>672) <u>brAhmaNa:<\/u> (\u092c\u094d\u0930\u093e\u0939\u094d\u092e\u0923\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>In order to establish the vEdhas in their true purport and publicise them, bhagavAn himself incarnates as a brAhmaNa in various forms such as dhaththAthrEya et al in various clans such as in athri\u2019s clan, etc. Thus, he is called \u2018brAhmaNa:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The meaning of this word \u2018brAhmaNa:\u2019 is shown by the etymologists as \u201cthe one who attains the supreme brahman himself, as well as leads other souls to that supreme brahman\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He who incarnates as a brAhmaNa in various places such as dhaththAthrEya, et al is called \u2018brAhmaNa:\u2019. Thus, he is called \u2018brahmI\u2019 \u2013 the owner of brahma.<\/p>\n<p>The scriptures say \u201cThat hari possesses everything which is called \u2018brahma\u2019 \u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn himself possesses the form of the means as well as the object of knowledge, he is called \u2018brahmI\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u092e\u093e\u0928\u092e\u0946\u092f\u0938\u094d\u0935\u0930\u0942\u092a\u0924\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0924\u094d \u0938\u094d\u0935\u092f\u0902 \u092c\u094d\u0930\u0939\u094d\u092e\u0940\u0924\u093f \u0936\u092c\u094d\u0926\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0946 |<\/p>\n<p>674) <u>brahmagya:<\/u> (\u092c\u094d\u0930\u0939\u094d\u092e\u091c\u094d\u091e\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>Not just stopping at knowing all the infinite vEdhas (as shown in one of the previous divine names \u2013 \u2018brahmavith\u2019), bhagavAn also understands them in their true purport. Thus, he is called \u2018brahmagya:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn himself declares thus in the bhagavath gIthA: \u201cI am only the knower of vEdhas in their true purport\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He who knows the infinite vEdhas in their true purport is called \u2018brahmagya:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u092f\u094a \u0935\u0946\u0926\u093e\u0928\u094d \u0905\u0930\u094d\u0925\u0924\u094a \u0935\u0946\u0924\u094d\u0924\u093f \u0938\u094as\u092f\u0902 \u092c\u094d\u0930\u0939\u094d\u092e\u091c\u094d\u091e \u0908\u0930\u093f\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>675) <u>brAhmaNapriya:<\/u> (\u092c\u094d\u0930\u093e\u0939\u094d\u092e\u0923\u092a\u094d\u0930\u093f\u092f\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>The individual souls who have also mastered the vEdhas are called \u2018brAhmaNa\u2019s. Such people are dear to bhagavAn. Hence, he is called \u2018brAhmaNapriya:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The scriptures have shown thus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cJust as I treat him \u2013 who kills, who curses, who speaks harsh words, and who doesn\u2019t respect the brAhmaNas&#8230;\u201d (this statement shows how bhagavAn considers disrespecting brAhmaNas on par with other offences), etc.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe sincere devotees who follow these nectarine teachings of mine in their true spirit are extremely dear to me\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201c&#8230;that which emanated from the mouth of a brAhmaNa&#8230;\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI shall win over all asuras with the help of the blessings of a vipra\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201c&#8230;what more is to be said about a holy brAhmaNa?&#8230;\u201d, etc<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In this way, the brAhmaNas are hailed in many places infinitely.<\/p>\n<p>To further illustrate, the scriptures have said thus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201c&#8230;he who is greater than the great souls&#8230;\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201c&#8230;he who is superior to all great souls, and who is bigger than the big entities&#8230;\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201c&#8230;that great soul, who is omniscient&#8230;\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201c&#8230;he who is superior and bigger than all big entities&#8230;\u201d, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Etymology: The masters of vEdhas are called \u2018vipra\u2019s. Such souls are dear to bhagavAn at all times. Thus, bhagavAn is called \u2018brAhmaNapriya:\u2019. Yet, he enables such fallen souls to attain his highest self by means of a great flight of stairs connoting a sequence of knowledge and devotion leading up to bhagavAn. Thus, he is called \u2018mahAkrama:\u2019 \u2013 the one who lays a great path for his devotees to traverse.<\/p>\n<p>This is akin to a mother suckling her child at the beginning, subsequently moving on to the cow\u2019s milk, and then mild food, and finally feeding it with all delicacies. Similarly, bhagavAn also has a sequence of occurrences for uniting a fallen soul with himself, starting with identifying a good deed for that soul, removing aversion towards himself, generating trust in vEdhas, creating interest towards himself, making them follow his words, and thereby generating knowledge, finally maturing such knowledge into devotion \u2013 which subsequently brings that soul close to himself. bhagavAn does all these in order to uplift a fallen soul as well as to enable such an uplifted soul to serve him.<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise, the scriptures show the adverse consequences thus:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf a soul doesn\u2019t traverse the path laid down by bhagavAn, such a soul deserves to be ever bound in this samsAra, covered with ignorance at all times\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That is why it is said thus: \u201cWhen the individual souls have reduced their sins greatly by practicing thapas and with undivided contemplation of bhagavAn in thousands of births, only then the true devotion unto bhagavAn krishNa is born in them\u201d<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn himself declares thus in the bhagavath gIthA: \u201cThe knowledgeable soul surrenders unto me only at the end of many of births\u201d, \u201cOh arjuna, wish to attain me by constant practice\u201d, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He is called \u2018mahAkrama:\u2019, who has laid down a sequential path of knowledge, devotion, etc as verily the flight of stairs to uplift a fallen soul from the depth of samsAra to unite such a soul with himself \u2013 who is the greatest of all souls.<\/p>\n<p>\u092a\u0930\u092e\u094a\u0928\u094d\u0928\u0924\u093f\u092e\u093e\u0924\u094d\u092e\u093e\u0928\u0902 \u0928\u093f\u092e\u094d\u0928\u093e\u0924\u094d \u092d\u0935\u0930\u0938\u093e\u0924\u0932\u093e\u0924\u094d |<br \/>\u091c\u0940\u0935\u093e\u0928\u094d \u0938\u092e\u093e\u0930\u094a\u0939\u092f\u0924\u094a \u091c\u094d\u091e\u093e\u0928\u092d\u0915\u094d\u0924\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0926\u093f \u0930\u0942\u092a\u093f\u0923\u0940 |<br \/>\u092a\u0942\u0930\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0928\u0941\u092a\u0942\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0940 \u092f\u0938\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0938\u094d\u0924\u093f \u0938 \u092e\u0939\u093e\u0915\u094d\u0930\u092e \u0908\u0930\u093f\u0924\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>677) <u>mahAkarmA<\/u> (\u092e\u0939\u093e\u0915\u0930\u094d\u092e\u093e) (also repeated in 793)<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn makes even the souls born in the lowest of births such as bacteria et al \u2013 which are microscopic in size and live on the indigestible remnants left over by others \u2013 to progress slowly across many births and finally attain him. Thus, he is called \u2018mahAthEjA:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: bhagavAn is called \u2018mahAthEjA:\u2019 because he possesses divine effulgence that takes away the darkness of ignorance which has no beginning (from the individual souls born in lowly births due to their karma). This eight syllable manthra grants effulgence upon the chanters.<\/p>\n<p>\u0905\u0928\u093e\u0926\u094d\u092f\u0935\u093f\u0926\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0916\u094d\u092f\u093e \u0924\u092e\u094a\u0939\u093e\u0930\u093f \u0924\u0946\u091c\u094a \u092e\u0939\u0926\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0903 |<br \/>\u092e\u0939\u093e\u0924\u0946\u091c\u093e\u0939\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0903 \u0916\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0924\u0903 \u0924\u0946\u091c\u094a\u0926\u094a \u0935\u0938\u0941\u0935\u0930\u094d\u0923\u0915\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>679) <u>mahOraga:<\/u> (\u092e\u0939\u094a\u0930\u0917\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>How does such a great supreme soul bhagavAn come near infinitesimally small creatures? He comes near such small creatures (enters their hearts) by entering their senses in the form of material objects at first, and in turn entering their minds through their senses. Thus, he is called \u2018mahOraga:\u2019 \u2013 the one who enters the mind.<\/p>\n<p>The word \u2018ura:\u2019 shows the hearts of such fallen souls. Since bhagavAn enters such hearts of fallen souls (like a snake entering an anthill), he is called \u2018mahOraga:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The syllable \u2018sa\u2019 (\u0938\u094d) in the word \u2018uras\u2019 \u0909\u0930\u0938\u094d (chest) is lost, and the root \u2018gam\u2019 \u0917\u092e\u094d (to go) with the \u2018da:\u2019 (\u0921\u0903) adjunct is suffixed as per grammatical rules, resulting in the word \u2018uraga:\u2019 (\u0909\u0930\u0917\u0903).<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: bhagavAn is popularly called \u2018mahOraga:\u2019, since he enters the hearts of fallen souls through their mind (and senses).<\/p>\n<p>\u092e\u0939\u094a\u0930\u0917 \u0907\u0924\u093f \u0916\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0924\u0936\u094d\u091a\u093f\u0924\u094d\u0924\u0926\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0930\u093e \u092a\u094d\u0930\u0935\u0946\u0936\u0928\u093e\u0924\u094d |<\/p>\n<p>680) <u>mahAkrathu:<\/u> (\u092e\u0939\u093e\u0915\u094d\u0930\u0924\u0941\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>The vishNu dharma says thus about bhagavAn\u2019s simplicity: \u201cAfter all, who wouldn\u2019t please bhagavAn \u2013 who is pleased not by all riches and wealth, or by clothes or ornaments, but is pleased by the purity at heart alone?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As shown in this scriptural statement, bhagavAn is very easily pleased by very simple ways of worship.
