Thus, he is called \u2018kruthAgama:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Thence, the SakthISa avathAram is hailed. He takes on a variety of divine forms following the nature of each yuga. Thus, he is called \u2018anirdhESyavapu:\u2019 \u2013 the one with incomprehensible forms.<\/p>\n<p>The scriptures hail thus: \u201cbhagavAn possesses divine effulgent forms abiding to the nature of every yuga\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: bhagavAn is called \u2018anirdhESyavapu:\u2019 since he possesses divine forms following the nature of every yuga.<\/p>\n<p>\u092f\u0941\u0917\u093e\u0928\u0941\u0938\u093e\u0930\u093f\u0930\u0942\u092a\u0924\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0924\u094d \u0905\u0928\u093f\u0930\u094d\u0926\u0946\u0936\u094d\u092f\u0935\u092a\u0941\u0903 \u0938\u094d\u092e\u0943\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>663) <u>vishNu:<\/u> (\u0935\u093f\u0937\u094d\u0923\u0941\u0903) (also repeated in 2, 259)<\/p>\n<p>Thus, bhagavAn pervades the entire world with his powers of pervasiveness and controlling every entity. Thus, he is called \u2018vishNu:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The manthra varnas hail bhagavAn as \u201cthe one who is omnipotent\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is said thus in Adhithya purANa \u201cSince all of these worlds are pervaded by the power of bhagavAn, he is called \u2018vishNu:\u2019. The root \u2018vish\u2019 means to enter\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the udhyOga parva of SrI mahAbhAratha, it is said thus: \u201cThe lord of all worlds is called \u2018vishNu:\u2019 since he pervaded all worlds with his feet\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn pervades all worlds with his power (to control every entity), he is called \u2018vishNu:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0938\u094d\u0935\u0936\u0915\u094d\u0924\u094d\u092f\u093e \u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u091c\u0917\u0924\u094a \u0935\u094d\u092f\u093e\u092a\u094d\u0924\u0946\u0903 \u0935\u093f\u0937\u094d\u0923\u0941\u0930\u093f\u0924\u093f \u0938\u094d\u092e\u0943\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>664) <u>vIra:<\/u> (\u0935\u0940\u0930\u0903) (also repeated in 402)<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn slays the offenders of his dear devotees without any delay, using his mace and discus (gadhA and chakram) \u2013 which are ever awaiting their master\u2019s order to eradicate such offenders. Thus, he is called \u2018vIra:\u2019 \u2013 the valiant one.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He is called \u2018vIra:\u2019, who slays those who offend his dear devotees without any delay.<\/p>\n<p>\u0935\u0940\u0930\u0903 \u0938\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0924\u094d \u0938\u093e\u0927\u0941\u0938\u0928\u094d\u0924\u093e\u092a\u0915\u093e\u0930\u093f\u0923\u094as\u091c\u0924\u093f \u0939\u0928\u094d\u0924\u093f \u092f\u0924\u094d |<\/p>\n<p>665) <u>anantha:<\/u> (\u0905\u0928\u0928\u094d\u0924\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>There is no boundary for bhagavAn in terms of either space or time or objects (which he pervades). Thus, he is called \u2018anantha:\u2019 \u2013 the endless.<\/p>\n<p>The manthra varNa hails bhagavAn as \u2018the one who possesses an endless form\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The various scriptures hail thus in this regard:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cOh arjuna, there is no end to my dimensions\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThat is the supreme brahman, which has no end\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe supreme brahaman is eternal, omniscient and not limited by anything\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This means that bhagavAn is ever present at all places and in all possible ways.<\/p>\n<p>Further, the lack of such differentiating capacity (to say bhagavAn is present in one object and absent in another) doesn\u2019t imply that bhagavAn is not different from such objects (meaning, it doesn\u2019t prove oneness of all objects with bhagavAn). Rather, it only means that he is totally independent of such objects, but isn\u2019t limited by such references and is all pervasive (he is referenced with every entity present in this creation). Similarly, the same is applicable even in case of space and time. Such an exposition (trying to impose \u2018oneness\u2019 using this divine name) is not pleasing.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn doesn\u2019t have any bounds in terms of space, time, qualities or objects, he is called \u2018anantha:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0926\u0946\u0936\u0924\u0903 \u0915\u093e\u0932\u0924\u094a \u0935\u093es\u092a\u093f \u0917\u0941\u0923\u094d\u0924\u094a \u0935\u0938\u094d\u0924\u0941\u0924\u094as\u092a\u093f \u0935\u093e |<br \/>\u0905\u0935\u0927\u093f\u0938\u094d\u0924\u094d\u0935\u0938\u094d\u092f \u0928\u093e\u0938\u094d\u0924\u0940\u0924\u093f \u0938\u094as\u0928\u0928\u094d\u0924\u0903 \u0938\u092e\u0941\u0926\u093e\u0939\u0943\u0924\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>666) <u>dhananjaya:<\/u> (\u0927\u0928\u091e\u094d\u091c\u092f\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>Not stopping at being unbounded himself, bhagavAn also bestows unbounded wealth upon his dear devotees. Thus, he is called \u2018dhananjaya:\u2019 \u2013 the victor of wealth.<\/p>\n<p>Which is that unbounded wealth that he bestows upon his devotees? It is none other than himself! bhagavAn puts down material wealth such as gold, gems, etc by showing the intense need for the desire to earn that wealth, the path treaded in the pursuit of such wealth, greed in retaining the wealth, efforts to hide such wealth from robbers, making a living with such wealth, etc. as the primary eligibility (NOTE: bhattar intends to show that there is so much of \u2018eligibility\u2019 needed to earn material wealth; whereas bhagavAn is naturally related to each one of us, and hence doesn\u2019t expect such high \u2018eligibilities\u2019).<\/p>\n<p>Since bhagavAn wins over such lowly wealth, he is called \u2018dhananjaya:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The root \u2018ji\u2019 \u091c\u093f (to win over) gets the \u2018khach\u2019 (\u0916\u091a\u094d) adjunct, resulting in the word \u2018jaya:\u2019 (\u091c\u092f\u0903).<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: By increasing the eligibilities to earn material wealth \u2013 such as intense desire, the deed of earning, greed in growing the wealth etc, bhagavAn wins over the lowly material wealth comprising of gems, pearls, precious stones, gold, etc (and makes himself available to his devotees as the highest unbounded wealth with no need for such \u2018eligibilities\u2019). Since every individual soul or sentient entity (chith &#8211; \u091a\u093f\u0924\u094d) is great due to its ability to enjoy the unbounded bliss in the mOksha bhUmi \u2013 which is attained by them according to their realization and actions, such individual soul itself is referred to as \u2018brahma\u2019. This is as shown in the various scriptures thus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cThat individual soul \u2013 who is verily of the form of knowledge \u2013 is called by the name \u2018brahma\u2019\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cSuch an individual soul \u2013 who is called by the name \u2018brahma\u2019 \u2013 is blemishless\u201d, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Even the insentient entity called \u2018achith\u2019 (\u0905\u091a\u093f\u0924\u094d), which is the object of enjoyment in this world for every individual soul, and which is inexplicable, is great due to its ability to transform into infinite forms of enjoyment to various souls. Thus, such insentient material is also called \u2018brahma\u2019. This is also shown in the scriptures thus: \u201cMy creation is this great prakruthi, called \u2018brahma\u2019\u201d, etc.<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn safeguards such sentient and insentient entities by looking after their existence, enjoyments, and all such states of those entities. Thus, he is called \u2018brahmaNya:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The sentient jIvathma and insentient prakruthi are both referenced by the name \u2018brahma\u2019. He who is responsible for their existence, enjoyments etc in all of their states is called \u2018brahmaNya:\u2019. The vEdhas have clearly shown this by saying \u201cthus, this \u2018brahma\u2019 gets various names and forms, and transforms into pleasure objects\u201d, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The ordinary creator of all such objects is the four faced brahmA. Such a four faced brahmA is also controlled by bhagavAn. Thus, bhagavAn is called \u2018brahmakrudhbrahmA\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The derivatives of prakruthi \u2013 namely mahAn, ahankAra, etc \u2013 are also called by the name \u2018brahma\u2019. The common creator of such objects in this creation (creator of individual objects \u2013 called vyashti srushti) is the four faced brahmA. He \u2013 by whom that four faced brahmA is controlled at all times \u2013 is called \u2018brahmakrudhbrahmA\u2019. Also, he shows himself as a big entity with his unbounded nature and divine qualities. Since he shows his absolute supremacy over all other entities thus, and since he is hailed by the vEdhAnthas as the greatest entity without any prejudice, he is called \u2018brahma\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The etymologists have shown the meaning of this divine name as \u201cthe one who is himself great and also makes the other entities (depending on him) great\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: bhagavAn always makes the individual souls in both the manifest and subtle forms during the common and specific creations great by showing them his divine forms, nature, auspicious qualities and the infinite wealth. Hence he is called \u2018brahma\u2019.
