This root gets the \u2018manin\u2019 (\u092e\u0928\u093f\u0928\u094d) adjunct, resulting in the word \u2018Athman\u2019 (\u0906\u0924\u094d\u092e\u0928\u094d). Since he keeps going around the three worlds constantly, he is called \u2018thrilOkAthmA\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He who constantly keeps going around the three worlds in order to protect his devotees and bless them is called \u2018thrilOkAthmA\u2019. Thus, he is called \u2018thrilOkESa:\u2019 \u2013 the master of all three worlds.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn is the sole master of all three worlds, he is called \u2018thrilOkESa:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0924\u094d\u0930\u093f\u0932\u094a\u0915\u093e\u0928\u093e\u092e\u0940\u0936\u0924\u092f\u093e \u0924\u094d\u0930\u093f\u0932\u094a\u0915\u0946\u0936\u0903 \u092a\u094d\u0930\u0915\u0940\u0930\u094d\u0924\u093f\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>654) <u>kESava:<\/u> (\u0915\u0946\u0936\u0935\u0903) (also repeated in 23)<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn is called \u2018kESava:\u2019 since he stands in two places in this world \u2013 namely \u2018mathurA\u2019 (\u092e\u0925\u0941\u0930\u093e) and \u2018vArANasI\u2019 (\u0935\u093e\u0930\u093e\u0923\u0938\u0940) (also called \u2018kASI\u2019 \u0915\u093e\u0936\u0940), removing all the sorrows of his devotees.<\/p>\n<p>Alternately, the words of Siva go thus: \u201cThe word \u2018ka\u2019 (\u0915) represents the four faced brahmA. I am popularly called \u2018Isa:\u2019 (\u0908\u0936\u0903) by all. We two are born out of your divine body. Thus, oh bhagavAn! (NOTE: bhagavAn gets the name \u2018kESava:\u2019 \u2013 also because he slew the demon named \u2018kESi\u2019, who appeared in the form of a horse).<\/p>\n<p>Thus, the same bhagavAn who is hailed as \u2018kESava:\u2019 in the previous divine name is further expounded in this divine name, showing another reason why he is called \u2018kESava:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He \u2013 who slew the demon named \u2018kESi\u2019 \u2013 is called \u2018kESihA\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0905\u0938\u0941\u0930\u0902 \u0915\u0946\u0936\u093f\u0928\u093e\u092e\u093e\u0928\u0902 \u0939\u0924\u0935\u093e\u0928\u094d \u0915\u0946\u0936\u093f\u0939\u093e \u0938\u094d\u092e\u0943\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>656) <u>hari:<\/u> (\u0939\u0930\u093f\u0903) (also repeated in 361)<\/p>\n<p>The lord of all \u2013 bhagavAn \u2013 resides in the sacred gOvardhana hills with the name \u2018hari:\u2019, accepting worship from all of his devotees. Thus, he is called \u2018hari:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn himself declares thus in SrI mahAbhAratha: \u201cI accept all the offerings in various oblations. Thus, I am popularly called \u2018hari:\u2019. Thus, he is called \u2018kAmadhEva:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The root \u2018dhiv\u2019 (\u0926\u093f\u0935\u094d) gets the meaning of \u2018donation\u2019 in this context, thus meaning that bhagavAn bestows all desires of his devotees in this divine name.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: bhagavAn \u2013 residing in the himAlayas and bestowing the desires of his devotees \u2013 is called \u2018kAmadhEva:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0936\u0919\u094d\u0915\u0930\u093e\u0932\u092f\u0917\u0903 \u0915\u093e\u092e\u0926\u0946\u0935\u0903 \u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0946\u0937\u094d\u091f\u0926\u0903 \u0938\u094d\u092e\u0943\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>658) <u>kAmapAla:<\/u> (\u0915\u093e\u092e\u092a\u093e\u0932\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn does not merely stop at bestowing all the desired fruits upon the seekers, as seen in the previous divine name (kAmadhEva: \u2013 the one who bestows the desired fruits). But he also takes care of such bestowments subsequently. Hence, he is called \u2018kAmapAla:\u2019 \u2013 the protector of such bestowments subsequently.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He who subsequently safeguards his bestowments upon his devotees is called \u2018kAmapAla:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0926\u0924\u094d\u0924\u093e\u0928\u0941\u092a\u093e\u0932\u0915\u0936\u094d\u091a\u0948\u0935 \u0915\u093e\u092e\u092a\u093e\u0932\u0903 \u092a\u094d\u0930\u0915\u0940\u0930\u094d\u0924\u093f\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>659) <u>kAmI<\/u> (\u0915\u093e\u092e\u0940)<\/p>\n<p>Also, bhagavAn gives in abundance unto his devotees. Thus, he is called \u2018kAmI\u2019 \u2013 the abundant giver.<\/p>\n<p>Alternately, everyone desires him the most. Thus also, he is called \u2018kAmI\u2019 \u2013 the most desired one (in this case, he gives away himself unto such devotees who seek him, thus becoming an \u2018abundant giver\u2019 again).<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: bhagavAn is called \u2018kAmI\u2019 since he gives in abundance.<\/p>\n<p>\u092a\u094d\u0930\u0926\u0946\u092f\u093e\u0924\u093f\u0936\u092f\u093e\u0924\u094d \u0915\u093e\u092e\u0940 |<\/p>\n<p>660) <u>kAntha:<\/u> (\u0915\u093e\u0928\u094d\u0924\u0903) (also repeated in 297)<\/p>\n<p>Verily that bhagavAn is himself very attractive to look at. Thus, he is called \u2018kAntha:\u2019 \u2013 the attractive one. With such a beautiful form (archA) only, bhagavAn gets worshipped by apsaras or damsels.<\/p>\n<p>As shown till now, bhagavAn\u2019s association with various holy places must be deduced at the appropriate places in the forthcoming divine names as well (NOTE: bhattar has mentioned various holy places where bhagavAn resides as archA forms with popular names in all these previous divine names. Similar association with the various unsaid holy places must also be deduced with the forthcoming divine names).<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He who is attractive to look at is called \u2018kAntha:\u2019.
