The word \u2018hanthi\u2019 (\u0939\u0928\u094d\u0924\u093f) in this divine name is used in the context of \u2018movement\u2019 (\u0917\u092e\u0928\u0915\u0930\u094d\u092e\u093e).<\/p>\n<p>Alternately, the six qualities denoting the word \u2018bhaga\u2019 can also be known from the sixth amSa of vishNu purANa, where the word \u2018bhagavAn\u2019 is defined in great detail.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: bhagavAn is called \u2018bhagahA\u2019 since he possesses all the auspicious qualities that are denoted by the word \u2018bhaga\u2019. Thus, he is called \u2018nandhI\u2019 \u2013 the son of nandha.<\/p>\n<p>He is also called nandhI since he found happiness in enjoying nectar and the cowherd womenfolk.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The one (balarAma) who had nandhagOpa as his father is called \u2018nandhI\u2019. Alternately, the one who was always full of joy is called \u2018nandhI\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0928\u0928\u094d\u0926\u0917\u094a\u092a\u0946\u0928 \u092a\u093f\u0924\u0943\u092e\u093e\u0928\u094d \u0928\u0928\u094d\u0926\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0928\u094d\u0926\u0940\u0924\u093f \u0935\u093e \u0924\u0925\u093e |<\/p>\n<p>566) <u>vanamAlee<\/u> (\u0935\u0928\u092e\u093e\u0932\u0940)<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, bhagavAn always wears the fragrant vaijayanthi garland (\u0935\u0948\u091c\u092f\u0928\u094d\u0924\u0940\u092e\u093e\u0932\u093e) \u2013 also called \u2018vanamAlA\u2019 (\u0935\u0928\u092e\u093e\u0932\u093e), which is the \u2018abhimanini dhEvathA\u2019 of the five subtle elements that he creates. Thus, he is called \u2018vanamAlee\u2019 \u2013 the one who adorns the vanamAlA.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: bhagavAn is always associated with the vaijayanthi garland or vanamAlA, which is the essence of the five subtle elements created by him; hence he is called \u2018vanamAlee\u2019. Since he is attained (itya: \u0907\u0924\u094d\u092f\u0903) through the syllable \u2018A\u2019 (Atha: \u0906\u0924\u0903), he is called \u2018Adhithya:\u2019 (\u0906\u0924\u0903 \u0907\u0924\u094d\u092f\u0903 \u092a\u094d\u0930\u093e\u092a\u094d\u092f\u0903 \u0907\u0924\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0926\u093f\u092f\u0903). This divine name is born out of the \u2018kyap\u2019 (\u0915\u094d\u092f\u092a\u094d) adjunct.<\/p>\n<p>It is a well known fact that the syllable \u2018A\u2019 (\u0906) is the bIja manthra of bhagavAn sankarshaNa.<\/p>\n<p>Alternately, bhagavAn was born to dhEvaki, who was in turn born as \u2018adhithi\u2019 in her previous birth. Thus also he is called \u2018Adhithya:\u2019 \u2013 the son of adhithi.<\/p>\n<p>This is supported in the vaishNava dharma, where bhagavAn himself declares thus: \u201cOh dhEvaki, you were indeed the daughter of dhaksha prajApathi in your earlier birth. You were then born as adhithi in this world. You have always been a support to this world. Thus, I have come to grace you\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He who is attained by the syllable \u2018A\u2019 is hailed as \u2018Adhithya:\u2019. The effulgent sun \u2018Adhithya:\u2019 (\u0906\u0926\u093f\u0924\u094d\u092f\u0903) that we see with our eyes is popularly known. But nArAyaNa nullifies this sun\u2019s effulgence with his own effulgence, as much as to say that \u201cthe sun is just a ball of darkness\u201d!<\/p>\n<p>In the nArAyaNIyam (SrI mahAbhAratha), this is hailed thus: \u201cWhile nara and nArAyaNa fought with Siva, all those who possessed effulgence lost their effulgence. Even brahmA fell from his position\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He who shines forth with astounding effulgence that dulls all other entities is indeed called \u2018jyOthirAdhithya:\u2019.
