These elements are nothing but his body. Hence, he is called \u2018SarIrabhUthabhruth\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning by saying \u201cThe sky, along with all the stars, became the head of that universal form\u201d, the SAnthi parva of mahAbhAratha proceeds to say thus: \u201cVerily the same bhagavAn took the form of hayagrIva, surrounded by various forms\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With all these statements, it is shown that the 24 primary elements of creation \u2013 which are a part of bhagavAn\u2019s body \u2013 are also borne by him.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn bears the twenty four elements of creation (starting with \u2018mUla prakruthi\u2019 or primordial nature and ending in \u2018pruthvI\u2019 or Earth), which are also a part of his body, he is called \u2018SarIrabhUthabhruth\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0926\u0946\u0939\u092d\u0942\u0924\u0902 \u091c\u0917\u0924\u094d\u0924\u0924\u094d\u0924\u094d\u0935\u0902 \u092a\u094d\u0930\u0915\u0943\u0924\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0926\u093f\u0927\u0930\u093e\u0928\u094d\u0924\u0915\u092e\u094d |<br \/>\u0936\u0930\u0940\u0930\u092d\u0942\u0924\u092d\u0943\u0924\u094d \u092a\u094d\u0930\u094a\u0915\u094d\u0924\u094a \u092c\u093f\u092d\u0930\u094d\u0924\u0940\u0924\u093f \u0926\u0936\u093e\u0915\u094d\u0937\u0930\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>502) <u>bhOkthA<\/u> (\u092d\u094a\u0915\u094d\u0924\u093e) (also repeated in 145)<\/p>\n<p>The mahAbhAratha further hails thus: \u201cThat hayagrIva, whom you earlier hailed, is verily that vishNu who slept in the great ocean before creation. He (hayagrIva) is verily the consumer of havya \u0939\u0935\u094d\u092f (oblations to Devas) and kavya \u0915\u0935\u094d\u092f (oblations to pithrus or manes).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thus, he is called \u2018bhOkthA\u2019 \u2013 the enjoyer of all kinds of oblations.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He who consumes the havya and kavya (oblations to dhEvas and pithrus respectively) is called \u2018bhOkthA\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0939\u0935\u094d\u092f\u0902 \u0915\u0935\u094d\u092f\u0902 \u091a \u092f\u094a \u092d\u0941\u0919\u094d\u0915\u094d\u0924\u0946 \u0938 \u092d\u094a\u0915\u094d\u0924\u093e \u092a\u0930\u093f\u0915\u0940\u0930\u094d\u0924\u093f\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>503) <u>kapIndhra:<\/u> (\u0915\u092a\u0940\u0928\u094d\u0926\u094d\u0930\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>The same bhagavAn who thus promotes one\u2019s adherence to the scriptural injunctions (as explained previously) also showed himself as rAma long ago. With his unparalleled divine acts in his incarnation as a human, he led a pack of monkeys who were unique in nature and incarnations of dhEvas who had surrendered unto bhagavAn. Thus, he is called \u2018kapIndhra:\u2019 \u2013 the lord of monkeys.<\/p>\n<p>The SrImath rAmAyaNa itself hails thus in the yudhdha kANda: \u201cVerily the lord of all worlds that you are, you have been surrounded by all dhEvas, who have manifested themselves as these monkeys, for the welfare of all worlds\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn is the lord of all dhEvas, who \u2013 in the form of monkeys \u2013surrendered unto him, he is popularly called as \u2018kapIndhra:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0915\u092a\u093f\u0930\u0942\u092a\u092a\u094d\u0930\u092a\u0928\u094d\u0928\u093e\u0928\u093e\u0902 \u0926\u0946\u0935\u093e\u0928\u093e\u092e\u0940\u0936\u094d\u0935\u0930\u0924\u094d\u0924\u094d\u0935\u0924\u0903 |<br \/>\u0915\u092a\u0940\u0928\u094d\u0926\u094d\u0930 \u0907\u0924\u093f \u0935\u093f\u0916\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0924\u094a \u0938\u092a\u094d\u0924\u093e\u0930\u094d\u0923\u094a \u092e\u0928\u0941\u0928\u093e\u092f\u0915\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>504) <u>bhUridhakshiNa:<\/u> (\u092d\u0942\u0930\u093f\u0926\u0915\u094d\u0937\u093f\u0923\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>The same bhagavAn rAma stood as an example to the rest of the world and conducted many sacrifices such as the aSvamEdha, with sumptuous donations and rewards. I am the lord of all yagyas\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, bhagavAn himself is the one who drinks the nectar derived out of the oblations in the yagyas (called \u2018havis\u2019 \u0939\u0935\u093f\u0938\u094d), and hence he is called \u2018amruthapa:\u2019 \u2013 the drinker of nectar.<\/p>\n<p>Alternately, bhagavAn is the one who makes his dear devotees \u2013 who are ever contemplating on him \u2013 drink the nectar of his divine experience in the supreme abode SrIvaikuNtam. Thus also, he is called \u2018amruthapa:\u2019 \u2013 the one who makes his devotees drink nectar.<\/p>\n<p>This is also supported by scriptural statements that hail thus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201c\u2026in that abode, where the dhEvas (refers to nithyasUris in this case) partake of the nectar\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIn that third abode, they glow with partaking of the nectar\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cbhagavAn is indeed the bridge connecting us with his nectarine divine abode\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201che, whose shadow is also nectarine\u2026\u201d, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Etymology: The derivative of \u2018havis\u2019 or oblation is called \u2018amrutham\u2019 or nectar. Since bhagavAn drinks such nectar, he is called \u2018amruthapa:\u2019. Thus, he is called \u2018sOma:\u2019 \u2013 the nectar.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, the word \u2018sOma\u2019 itself represents nectar.<\/p>\n<p>The scriptures reinforce this claim thus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201csOma existed in the third world\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201che, indeed, is like the divine nectar\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOh rAma, with great penance and noble actions, you have been begotten by dhaSaratha as his son, just like the dhEvas obtained the nectar\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cJust like the partaking of nectar is never satisfying, so also the sight of janArdhana is not satisfying (it makes the devotees want more of it always)\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201c\u2026that divine nectar, who is filled with peace\u201d, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn is nectarine for the liberated souls (much aloof from the lowly nectar gotten by the dhEvas), he is called \u2018sOma:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0938\u094a\u092e\u0903 \u0938\u0941\u0927\u093e\u092f\u092e\u093e\u0928\u0924\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0924\u094d \u092e\u0941\u0915\u094d\u0924\u093e\u0928\u093e\u0902 \u092a\u0930\u093f\u0915\u0940\u0930\u094d\u0924\u093f\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>508) <u>purujith<\/u> (\u092a\u0941\u0930\u0941\u091c\u093f\u0924\u094d)<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn wins over every individual by showing various qualities. For instance, SrImath rAmAyaNa hails thus: \u201crAma wins over all worlds by his virtue of honesty. More so, he wins over the downtrodden people with his donations. He wins over his preceptors by serving them befittingly, and wins over all of his enemies with his bow\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thus, since he wins over everyone, he is called \u2018purujith\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The one who wins over a multitude of individuals like the general people in all worlds, the downtrodden, the preceptors and the enemies respectively by his virtues of honesty, donations, servitude and valor (with his bow) is called \u2018purujith\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0932\u094a\u0915\u093e\u0928\u094d \u0926\u0940\u0928\u093e\u0928\u094d \u0917\u0941\u0930\u0942\u0928\u094d \u0936\u0924\u094d\u0930\u0942\u0928\u094d \u092c\u0939\u0942\u0928\u094d \u0938\u0924\u094d\u092f\u0946\u0928 \u0926\u093e\u0928\u0924\u0903 |<br \/>\u0936\u0941\u0936\u094d\u0930\u0942\u0937\u092f\u093e \u091a \u0927\u0928\u0941\u0937\u093e \u091c\u093f\u0924\u0935\u093e\u0928\u094d \u092a\u0941\u0930\u0941\u091c\u093f\u0924\u094d \u0938\u094d\u092e\u0943\u0924\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>509) <u>purusaththama:<\/u> (\u092a\u0941\u0930\u0941\u0938\u0924\u094d\u0924\u092e\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>hanuman declares thus in SrImath rAmAyaNa:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh lord, my highest love is ever fixed in yourself. Oh valiant one, my devotion towards you is steadfast, and my feelings would never move away from you. Oh valiant one, as long as rAmAyaNa exists in this world, my prANas or life forces shall stay in my body, and I shall enjoy listening to it every time\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As shown in these statements made by hanuman, it is clear that bhagavAn rAma resides in the hearts of his dearest devotees like hanuman and others, who long to drink in the nectarine ocean of his auspicious qualities. Thus, he is called \u2018purusaththama:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The word \u2018puru:\u2019 here refers to great people (devotees of bhagavAn).
