Although possessing all wealth, since his divine auspicious qualities are highly opulent, he is called \u2018parardhdhi:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Although bhagavAn is the only supreme entity ruling over all others, he is compared to some lowly demigods for a miniscule of his original qualities in his incarnation as SrI rAma.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, SrImath rAmAyanam hails rAma\u2019s qualities thus:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe greatly resembles vishNu in valor. In his affable appearance, he resembles the moon\u201d, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The same SrImath rAmAyanam later hails his absolute supremacy thus:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSrI rAma\u2019s qualities cannot be described with mere words. his greatness never diminishes. He is perceptible only by the highest vEdhas, and resides in the hearts of all dhEvas and all other entities. His absolute supremacy can be clearly seen in various occasions.<\/p>\n<p>This is shown in SrImath rAmAyana by mandodari when her husband rAvana was killed by SrI rAma. While grieving her husband\u2019s death, she praises rAma thus: \u201cThis rAma is clearly showing himself as verily the supreme and eternal godhead nArAyaNa\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The same SrImath\u00a0 rAmAyana also hails rAma thus: \u201cHe is verily the sun to even the sun god\u201d, et al.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The one whose absolute supremacy is very clearly seen even in his incarnation as SrI rAma is called \u2018paramaspashta:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0938\u093e\u0915\u094d\u0937\u093e\u0924\u094d-\u0926\u0943\u0937\u094d\u091f\u0938\u094d\u0935\u092a\u093e\u0930\u092e\u094d\u092f\u0903 \u092a\u0930\u092e\u0938\u094d\u092a\u0937\u094d\u091f \u0909\u091a\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0946 |<\/p>\n<p>393) <u>thushta:<\/u> (\u0924\u0941\u0937\u094d\u091f\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn rejoices his attainment of the status of being daSaratha\u2019s son much more than his absolute supremacy itself. The SrImath rAmAyana says \u201c\u2026that SrI rAma, who is full of auspicious qualities\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The one who is replete with great qualities such as benevolence and the like is called \u2018pushta:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0917\u0941\u0923\u0948\u0930\u094d\u092f\u094a \u0939\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0928\u0943\u0936\u0902\u0938\u093e\u0926\u094d\u092f\u0948\u0903 \u092a\u0942\u0930\u094d\u0923\u0903 \u092a\u0941\u0937\u094d\u091f \u0907\u0924\u0940\u0930\u093f\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>395) <u>SubhEkshaNa:<\/u> (\u0936\u0941\u092d\u0946\u0915\u094d\u0937\u0923\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>SrI rAma possesses wide, pacific, benign, long and red hued auspicious lotus-like eyes, betraying his supreme nature said hitherto. Hence, he is called \u2018SubhEkshaNa:\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is as said in Srimath rAmAyanam thus:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSrI rAma has nice eyebrows and long lotus-like reddish eyes, akin to vishNu himself\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Alternately, SrI rAma is hailed as \u2018SubhEkshaNa:\u2019 since his eyes are looked by each and every soul, and he looks at each and every soul. SrImath rAmAyana says thus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201crAma is the greatest of entities that generate happiness among souls\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201c\u2026that rAma, who is a storehouse of auspicious qualities\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cSrI rAma is dark complexioned, youthful, red-eyed, and like a bull among elephants.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cSrI rAma shone with his great qualities just like the sun shines with its bright rays, attracting every citizen of ayOdhyA with his love, and verily embodying daSaratha\u2019s love.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The manthra varNas hailing SrI rAma say thus: \u201c\u2026that SrI rAma, who is attractive with his dark complexioned body like a beautiful water-lily blooming in the autumn season\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn delights the individual souls with his auspicious sight, divine form and great qualities, he is called \u2018rAma:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0936\u0941\u092d\u0946\u0915\u094d\u0937\u0923\u0946s\u0938\u094d\u092e\u093f\u0928\u094d \u0938\u094d\u0935\u0917\u0941\u0923\u0948\u0903 \u0930\u092e\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0946 \u0930\u093e\u092e \u0908\u0930\u093f\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>397) <u>virAma:<\/u> (\u0935\u093f\u0930\u093e\u092e\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>The grantor of boon \u2013 the four faced brahmA, the boon itself \u2013 the boon of immortality, and the seeker of such boon \u2013 the ten headed rAvana \u2013 all finally rest in SrI rAma\u2019s actions. Hence, he is called \u2018virAma:\u2019 \u2013 the resting abode.<\/p>\n<p>hanuman praises rAma\u2019s valor thus in front of rAvana: \u201cEven if the four faced brahmA, three eyed Siva, the thousand eyed indhra, and others come together in opposition, SrI rAma still remains invincible by all of them\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The one who is causes the various entities to rest, such as the grantor of boon \u2013 brahmA, the seekers of boon \u2013 rAvaNa and others, and the boon itself \u2013 the boon of immortality and invincibility \u2013 is called \u2018virAma:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0935\u0930\u092a\u094d\u0930\u0926\u0948\u0903 \u092c\u094d\u0930\u0939\u094d\u092e\u092e\u0941\u0916\u094d\u092f\u0948\u0903 \u0905\u0935\u0927\u094d\u092f\u0924\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0926\u093f\u092d\u093f\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0930\u0948\u0903 |<br \/>\u092f\u0938\u094d\u092e\u093f\u0928\u094d \u0935\u093f\u0930\u092e\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0946 \u0907\u0924\u093f \u0938 \u0935\u093f\u0930\u093e\u092e\u0903 \u092a\u0930\u093f\u0915\u0940\u0930\u094d\u0924\u093f\u0924\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>398) <u>viratha:<\/u> (\u0935\u093f\u0930\u0924\u0903) (also repeated in 367), <u>mArga:<\/u> (\u092e\u093e\u0930\u094d\u0917\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>Since SrI rAma is unattached to material pleasures such as rule of kingdom and the like, he is called \u2018viratha:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>SrI vAlmIki maharishi beautifully describes this glorious attribute of SrI rAma thus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cJust as the darkness of night cannot diminish the radiance of the cooling moon, so also the loss of kingdom rule does not take away the naturally great wealth of his pacific nature\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201crAma considers obedience to his father daSaratha superior to his coronation itself\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThere was not a least bit of fear in the face of rAma when he gave up the rule of kingdom for the sake of dharma and took me to the forest by walk\u201d, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Further, he is called \u2018mArga:\u2019. Here, it means that he is sought after by all the sages such as bharadhvAja maharishi and others.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, these two names can be seen separately.<\/p>\n<p>Alternately, the two words can be seen together to refer to a single divine name \u2018virajOmArga:\u2019 as well. This means he is the one who shows the individual souls the faultless path of mOksha.<\/p>\n<p>This is shown in SrImath rAmAyana thus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cOh jatAyu, tread that greatest path and reach the supreme abode of SrI vaikuNtam, which is otherwise treaded by pious men practicing the highest dharmas\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>\u201crAma\u2019s bow enabled vAli to reach the highest destination\u201d, et al.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Etymology: By nature, since rAma is unattached to the material pursuits such as kingdom rule and the like, he is called \u2018viratha:\u2019. Also, since he is constantly sought after by sage bharadhvAja and others, he is called \u2018mArga:\u2019. Hence, he is called \u2018nEya:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>In the Srimath rAmAyana, it is shown thus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cOh sages, I am at your behest\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cHaving accepted all your orders, I now wish to stay here in this forest\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe one who wishes to gain long lasting wealth must approach learned men, no matter how intelligent he is\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the sabhA parva of SrI mahAbhAratha, bhagavAn declares thus:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh yudhishtira, perform the yajna that you so desire. When I am here to do good to you, you can appoint me for any work; I shall do everything that you order me to do\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the udhyOga parva, he says: \u201cOh mighty one! I am at your behest. Tell me what I can do for you, and I shall do all that you order\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the Srimath rAmAyana, it is also said about lakshmana thus:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the friendly attitude and extreme devotion of hanuman, lakshmana allowed himself to be easily lifted by that monkey, who is not even shaken by others otherwise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The one who subordinates to his dearest pious devotees is called \u2018nEya:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0928\u093f\u092f\u094a\u0917\u092f\u094a\u0917\u094d\u092f\u0903 \u0938\u0941\u0939\u0943\u0926\u093e\u0902 \u092f\u094as\u0938\u094c \u0928\u0946\u092f\u0903 \u0938 \u0909\u091a\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0946 |<\/p>\n<p>400) <u>naya:<\/u> (\u0928\u092f\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>Although bhagavAn subordinates himself at the behest of the pious sages, yet the sages remain to be protected by bhagavAn only.
