The root \u2018dhura\u2019 (\u0927\u0941\u0930) gets the \u2018yath\u2019 (\u092f\u0924\u094d) adjunct, resulting in this divine name. In this context, \u2018dhura\u2019 is understood to mean \u2018load\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn is the one who has borne the worlds, he is called \u2018dhurya:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u092d\u0941\u0935\u0928\u0902 \u0927\u0943\u0924\u0935\u093e\u0928\u094d \u0927\u0941\u0930\u094d\u092f\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>332) <u>varadha:<\/u> (\u0935\u0930\u0926\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn bestows boons even upon dhEvas \u2013 who are different and lower to himself, and who bear different works in this creation. Thus, he is called \u2018varadha:\u2019 \u2013 the bestower of boons.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The one who bestows the desired fruits is called \u2018varadha:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0935\u0930\u0926\u094as\u092d\u0940\u0937\u094d\u091f\u0926\u0903 \u0938\u094d\u092e\u0943\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>333) <u>vAyuvAhana:<\/u> (\u0935\u093e\u092f\u0941\u0935\u093e\u0939\u0928\u0903) (also repeated in 860)<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn propels the air, which is like a life force in this creation. Hence, he is called \u2018vAyuvAhana:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The one who causes the movement of air which is like the life force in this creation is called \u2018vAyuvAhana:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u091c\u0917\u0924\u094d\u092a\u094d\u0930\u093e\u0923\u0902 \u0935\u0939\u0924\u093f \u092f\u094a \u0935\u093e\u092f\u0941\u0935\u093e\u0939\u0928 \u0909\u091a\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0946 |<\/p>\n<p>334) <u>vAsudhEva:<\/u> (\u0935\u093e\u0938\u0941\u0926\u0946\u0935\u0903) (also repeated in 700 and 714)<\/p>\n<p>Thence, the ensuing twelve names construe the natural divine qualities of bhagavAn. He is called \u2018vAsudhEva:\u2019 in this context.<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn is both \u2018vAsu:\u2019 (\u0935\u093e\u0938\u0941\u0903) and \u2018dhEva:\u2019 (\u0926\u0946\u0935\u0903). He is called \u2018vAsu:\u2019 since he resides in every iota of this creation. Just as the sun&#8217;s rays pervade the entire world, and just as a bird protects its offspring under its own wings, so also bhagavAn embraces and pervades the entire creation, resides in every iota of this creation and constantly protects every entity in this creation. Hence, he is called \u2018vAsu:\u2019. Further, he is full of playfulness, victory, splendor, praiseworthiness and action. Hence, he is called \u2018dhEva:\u2019. Thus, he is called \u2018vAsudhEva:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn himself claims thus:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI cover up this entire world just like the sun covering up the entire world with his rays. I am thus the indweller of every entity in this creation. Hence, I am known popularly as \u2018vAsudhEva:\u2019\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The vishNu purANa hails thus: \u201cSince bhagavAn indwells every entity in this creation, and since all the entities reside in him, he is called \u2018vAsudhEva:\u2019\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Further elucidation of this divine name is restrained since this is considered to be one of the most secret divine names among the manthras. So the readers are implored to approach their AchAryas for a complete elucidation.<\/p>\n<p>Etmology: The one who indwells in every creature is called \u2018vAsudhEva:\u2019. His effulgence is both magnificent and eternal. Hence, he is called \u2018bruhadhbhAnu:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The one whose effulgence is magnificent is called \u2018bruhadhbhAnu:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u092c\u0943\u0939\u0928\u094d\u0924\u094a \u092d\u093e\u0928\u0935\u094a \u092f\u0938\u094d\u092f \u0938 \u092c\u0943\u0939\u0926\u094d\u092d\u093e\u0928\u0941\u0930\u0941\u091a\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0946 |<\/p>\n<p>336) <u>AdhidhEva:<\/u> (\u0906\u0926\u093f\u0926\u0946\u0935\u0903) (also repeated in 491)<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, bhagavAn is also the one who playfully creates, sustains and destroys the lower material creation comprising all these worlds. Since he is the primordial creator of all such material creation, he is called \u2018AdhidhEva:\u2019 \u2013 the primordial creator.<\/p>\n<p>The scriptures hail thus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cAssembling and separating all entities in this creation, bhagavAn plays with his own free will\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cbhagavAn vishNu is incomprehensible, and absolutely independent. He moves about in all places according to his own free will. He creates, sustains and destroys all of these material worlds and enjoys playfully just like a small child playing with its toys\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn plays with this material world \u2013 which is just as much as a quarter of SrIvaikuNtam, he is called \u2018AdhidhEva:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>(In other words, since bhagavAn possesses creation, sustenance and destruction of this material world itself as a sport, he is called \u2018AdhidhEva:\u2019).<\/p>\n<p>\u0915\u094d\u0930\u0940\u0921\u0924\u0940\u0924\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0926\u093f\u0926\u0946\u0935\u0903 \u0938\u094a \u092a\u093e\u0926\u093e\u0924\u094d\u092e\u0915\u0935\u093f\u092d\u0942\u0924\u093f\u092d\u093f\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>337) <u>purandhara:<\/u> (\u092a\u0941\u0930\u0928\u094d\u0926\u0930\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>With the ensuing four names, bhagavAn\u2019s quality of eliminating the evil souls who stand as an obstruction to the progress of other entities by causing afflictions is hailed.<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn tears apart the cities of asuras, and hence he is called \u2018purandhara:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>With this divine quality, bhagavAn shows his capacity to ward off fears from the minds of his devotees caused due to asuras, piSAchas, lightning, planets, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: bhagavAn is called \u2018purandhara:\u2019 since he tears apart the cities of asuras.<\/p>\n<p>\u092a\u0941\u0930\u0928\u094d\u0926\u0930 \u0907\u0924\u093f \u0916\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0924\u094as\u0938\u0941\u0930\u093e\u0923\u093e\u0902 \u092a\u0941\u0930\u0926\u093e\u0930\u0923\u093e\u0924\u094d |<\/p>\n<p>=============================<br \/>\u0905\u0936\u094a\u0915\u0938\u094d\u0924\u093e\u0930\u0923\u0938\u094d\u0924\u093e\u0930\u0903 \u0936\u0942\u0930\u0903 \u0936\u094c\u0930\u093f\u0930\u094d\u091c\u0928\u0946\u0936\u094d\u0935\u0930\u0903 \u0964<br \/>\u0905\u0928\u0941\u0915\u0942\u0932\u0903 \u0936\u0924\u093e\u0935\u0930\u094d\u0924\u094a \u092a\u0926\u094d\u092e\u0940 \u092a\u0926\u094d\u092e\u0928\u093f\u092d\u0946\u0915\u094d\u0937\u0923\u0903 \u0965 \u0969\u096d \u0965<br \/>==============================<\/p>\n<p>338) <u>aSOka:<\/u> (\u0905\u0936\u094a\u0915\u0903) (also repeated in 637)<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn eliminates the spiritual obstacles (caused due to the one\u2019s own limitations) in the path of attaining bhagavAn such as sorrow, delusion, hunger, etc. Hence he is called \u2018aSOka:\u2019 \u2013 the one who represses sorrows caused due to one\u2019s own limitations.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: He is called as \u2018aSOka:\u2019, who is the destroyer of sorrows, delusions, etc.<\/p>\n<p>\u0905\u0936\u094a\u0915\u0903 \u0936\u094a\u0915\u092e\u094a\u0939\u093e\u0926\u093f\u0928\u093e\u0936\u0915\u0903 \u092a\u0930\u093f\u0915\u0940\u0930\u094d\u0924\u093f\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>339) <u>thAraNa:<\/u> (\u0924\u093e\u0930\u0923\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn also eliminates natural obstacles (caused due to the limiting nature in this prakruthi) such as enemies, thieves, ailments, and all other types of fears.
