Thus, he is like the ocean to the river of vEdhas, where they finally rest. Hence he is called \u2018SruthisAgara:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Just as ocean is the final residing place for all rivers, so also bhagavAn is the final resting place for all vEdhas that hail his supreme qualities. Hence, he is called \u2018dhurdhara:\u2019 \u2013 the one who cannot be restrained.<\/p>\n<p>The dhu: (\u0926\u0941\u0903) gets the \u2018khal\u2019 (\u0916\u0932\u094d) adjunct per grammatical rules, resulting in this divine name. The same rule is applicable in other divine names such as \u2018dhurlabha:\u2019 \u0926\u0941\u0930\u094d\u0932\u092d\u0903 (783), \u2018dhurgama:\u2019 \u0926\u0941\u0930\u094d\u0917\u092e\u0903 (784), et al.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The one whose force is unrestrained by others is called \u2018dhurdhara:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u092a\u0930\u0948\u0930\u094d\u0926\u0941\u0930\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0930\u0935\u0946\u0917\u094a \u092f\u094a \u0926\u0941\u0930\u094d\u0927\u0930\u0903 \u0938 \u091a \u0915\u0925\u094d\u092f\u0924\u0946 |<\/p>\n<p>268) <u>vAgmI<\/u> (\u0935\u093e\u0917\u094d\u092e\u0940)<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, since bhagavAn possesses commendable speech, he is called \u2018vAgmI\u2019 \u2013 the excellent orator. The adjunct \u2018gmini\u2019 (\u0917\u094d\u092e\u093f\u0928\u093f) is suffixed to the word \u2018vAk\u2019 \u0935\u093e\u0915\u094d (speech), indicating praiseworthiness of such speech. This results in this divine name. bhagavAn\u2019s speech is commendable since it is the gist of vEdhas, controlled, sweet, profound, loveable and favorable to everyone.<\/p>\n<p>As the scriptures put it, bhagavAn\u2019s speech is hailed thus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cvEdhas are verily the words of bhagavAn\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201crAma is the one who can answer every question with utmost diligence, just like the celestial preceptor brihaspathi\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOh krishNa, your words are so nectarine that I am not being content with whatever I have listened till now. I request you, please speak again\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201crAma is extremely intelligent and speaks up first, speaks softly, speaks sweetly and speaks lovingly\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe lotus eyed krishNa spoke the most meaningful words to the assembled kings, which was unobjectionable and free from satire, fright and confusions with his thunderous voice\u201d, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn speaks sweet and favorable words whose forms are verily the vEdhas, he is called \u2018vAgmI\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0935\u0946\u0926\u0932\u0915\u094d\u0937\u0923\u0935\u0915\u094d\u0924\u0943\u0924\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0924\u094d \u0935\u093e\u0917\u094d\u092e\u0940 \u092a\u094d\u0930\u093f\u092f\u0939\u093f\u0924\u094a\u0915\u094d\u0924\u093f\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>269) <u>mahEndhra:<\/u> (\u092e\u0939\u0946\u0928\u094d\u0926\u094d\u0930\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>Since bhagavAn possesses venerable, supreme, infinite wealth spread all around, he is called \u2018mahEndhra:\u2019 \u2013 the wealthiest one.<\/p>\n<p>The root \u2018idhi\u2019 (\u0907\u0926\u093f) is used in the context to mean \u2018extreme wealth\u2019. This root gets the \u2018ran\u2019 (\u0930\u0928\u094d) adjunct, resulting in the word \u2018indhra:\u2019 (\u0907\u0928\u094d\u0926\u094d\u0930\u0903). The qualifier \u2018mahA\u2019 (\u092e\u0939\u093e) is prefixed to clearly show that bhagavAn\u2019s wealth overthrows that of lower demigods such as indhra, kubEra, et al. It clearly shows the rulership of bhagavAn over all other entities.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn possesses supreme wealth, he is called \u2018mahEndhra:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u092a\u0930\u092e\u0948\u0936\u094d\u0935\u0930\u094d\u092f\u0935\u0924\u094d\u0935\u0946\u0928 \u092e\u0939\u0946\u0928\u094d\u0926\u094d\u0930 \u0907\u0924\u093f \u0936\u092c\u094d\u0926\u0924\u0946 |<\/p>\n<p>270) <u>vasudha:<\/u> (\u0935\u0938\u0941\u0926\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>Even in such a great disposition of being the wealthiest, bhagavAn never predominates over any entity. Instead, he bestows all wealth upon such individual souls who seek such lowly wealth from him.
