{"id":3003,"date":"2015-07-10T23:58:14","date_gmt":"2015-07-10T23:58:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/?p=3003"},"modified":"2015-07-10T23:58:14","modified_gmt":"2015-07-10T23:58:14","slug":"thiruvezhukurrirukkai-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/07\/thiruvezhukurrirukkai-11\/","title":{"rendered":"thiruvezhukURRirukkai &#8211; 11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>srI:<br \/>\nsrImathE satakOpAya nama:<br \/>\nsrImathE rAmAnujAya nama:<br \/>\nsrImath varavaramunayE nama:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"thiruvezhukURRirukkai\" href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/04\/thiruvezhukurrirukkai\/\">Full series<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/07\/thiruvezhukurrirukkai-8\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Previous section<\/a><\/p>\n<p>1-2-3-4-5-6-7-] 6-5 &#8211; 4-3-2-1\u00a0 (ends)<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">aRu<\/span> vagaich chamayamum aRivaru nilaiyinai<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">aim<\/span>pAl Odhiyai Agaththu iruththinai<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8212;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>aRamudhal nAngavaiyAy mUrththi mUnRAi<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>iruvagaip payanAi onRAi virindhu ninRanai<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Word by word meaning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>aRu vagai chamayamum \u2013 <\/em>Six type of other philosophies<br \/>\n<em>aRivu aru<\/em> \u2013 cannot know\/understand<br \/>\n<em>nilaiyinai<\/em> \u2013 You; such is your nature;<br \/>\n<em>aimpAl Odhiyai<\/em> \u2013 pirAtti whose hair is identification of five ways of hair;<br \/>\n<em>Agaththu iruththinai <\/em>\u2013 have placed her in your divine chest.<br \/>\n&#8212;-<br \/>\n<em>aRam mudhal nAngu avai Ay<\/em> \u2013 You are the one who grants the four goals \u2013 aRam (dharma), poruL (things\/wealth), inbam (pleasure), vIdu (srIvaikuNtam)<br \/>\n<em>mUrthy mUnRu Ay<\/em> \u2013 as antharyAmi for the three mUrthys<br \/>\n<em>iru vagai payan Ay<\/em> \u2013 You are the one who creates happiness and sadness (based on karmAs)<br \/>\n<em>onRu Ai virindhu ninRanai<\/em> \u2013 just the self (in the beginning), and then expanded as the whole world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Simple translation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These phrases talk about the aishwaryam (parathvam) of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It is impossible for those denying the <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>, that is those who believe in other six philosophies to reach\/know <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You have placed srIdhEvi pirAtti in your divine chest, where she stays at all times, to do purushakAram (recommendation).<\/p>\n<p>You are the grantor of the four goals of beings; you are the antharyAmi of the three mUrthys; You are the one who controls the happiness and sadness of beings according to their karmas; You who was the only One existing during praLayam (annihilation), expanded into many, and gave names and shapes to things, and You are responsible for their being as the antharyAmi.<\/p>\n<p>So it is not possible for me to lose you because of any lack of greatness\/aishwaryam on Your part, says <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thirumangai AzhwAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>aRuvagaich chamayamum aRivaru nilaiyinai<\/em> \u2013 It is not possible to know You by those who do not accept you, that is, chArvAkar, bouththar, samaNar, naiyAyika&#8217;vaishEshikar (thArkkikar), sAnkyar, pAshupadhar;\u00a0\u00a0 by this, Azhwar implies the meaning, \u201cWhen you are beyond reach for those who do not accept you, you are beyond reach even for me who accepts you!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>aimpAl Odhiyai Agaththu iruththinai \u2013 <\/em>You hold periya pirAtti in your divine chest; periya pirAtti having the five identifications of a good hair \u2013 being curled, shining, fragrant, dense, and soft.<\/p>\n<p><em>Agaththu iruththinai \u2013 <\/em>thiruvadi (hanuman) was corrected by pirAtti, <em>\u201cpApAnAm vA shuBhAnAm vA vaDhArhANAm plavangama | kAryam karuNamAryENa \u00a0na kashchith nAparADhyathi ||\u201c <\/em>[rAmAyaNam yudhdha kANdam 116-44] (hey vAnara! whether one has done sins or good deeds, even if they are to be killed, even in their matters a just person should show kindness. There is no one (in this world) who has not done any mistakes!); such pirAtti is kept in Your divine chest such that she is always available for purushakAram (recommendation);<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/pApAnAm_va.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3006\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/pApAnAm_va.png\" alt=\"pApAnAm_va\" width=\"246\" height=\"191\" \/><\/a>When saying \u201c<em>mangaiyar iruvarum varuda\u201d \u00a0<\/em> in a previous phrase, it referred to both srIdhEvi and bhUdhevi as doing purushakAram, but here it mentions the importance of srIdhEvi who is always present in the divine chest of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>; so this is not insignificant. Or, it can be taken as this referring to srIdhEvi here to imply that <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a> gets His aishwarya, (parathva), soulabhyam, beauty etc., due to pirAtti only. This idea is used in the upcoming phrases.<\/p>\n<p>To begin with it talks about His aishwaryam.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\naRam mudhal nAngavaiyAy \u2013 You are the four goals (purushArtham) \u2013 that are, aRam (dharma\/charity), poruL (things\/wealth), inbam (pleasure\/happiness) and vIdu (srI vaikuNtam); \u201c<em>chathurNAm purushArththAnAm dhAthA dhEva: chathurBhuja:\u201d <\/em>[nArAyaNan who has got four arms, is the one who grants the four purushArthas].<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cdhEvEndhras thriBhuvanam arththamEkapinga:<\/em><br \/>\n<em> sarvardhDhim thriBhuvanagAm cha kArththavIrya: |<\/em><br \/>\n<em> vaidhEha: paramapadham prasAdhya vishNum<\/em><br \/>\n<em> samprAptha: sakala pala pradhO hi vishNu: ||&#8221; <\/em>\u00a0 [vishNu dharmam 43-47]<\/p>\n<p>[ By worshiping vishNu, dhevEndhra got three worlds, kubEran the wealth, kArththa vIryan the fame that spread to the three worlds, and janaka mahArAjan the paramapadham; such is vishNu bhagavAn who grants what one wishes.] \u2013 so since he is the one who can give the four goals, He himself is those goals, so says <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhwAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>mUrthy mUnRAi \u2013 <\/em>Three mUrthys, that are: brahmA, rudhra, and indhra<strong>;<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a> is the antharyAmi in them; Or, if considering the three \u2013 brahmA, vishNu, rudhra, then it talks about how <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a> stands between the two and does the protection himself, and does the creation and destruction as antharyAmi in brahmA and rudhra.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>srushti sthithi anthakaraNIm brahma vishNu shivAthmikAm |<\/em><br \/>\n<em>sa samjyAm yAthi BhagavAn Eka Eva janArthdhana: ||\u201d <\/em>[vishNu purANam 1-2-66]<\/p>\n<p>[creation, protection, and destruction are the three activities for which janArthdhanan takes the three names (and forms) of brahmA, vishNu, and shiva], so said srI parasara rishi.<\/p>\n<p><em>iruvagaip payanAi \u2013 <\/em>happiness, sadness are the two types of states due to karmas \u2013 he is the one who controls them.<\/p>\n<p><em>onRAi virindhu ninRanai<\/em> \u2013 during praLayam (annihilation), all the things would be without any name or form and stick together with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>, so he is said as \u2018<em>sadhEva<\/em>\u201d [chAndhokya upanishad 6-2-1], that is, He is the only one existing; then during creation, he decides \u201c<em>bahu syAm<\/em>\u201d [chAndhokya Upanishad 6-2-3] (I shall become many\/multiply), and expands to many things that get name and form.<\/p>\n<p>Or, instead of creation, and praLaya (annihilation) times, it can also mean that during all times, all the things are parts of Him, so we can say \u201csentient and non-sentient things are parts of the body of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>; such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a> is the one truth\u201d \u2013 he is such.<\/p>\n<p>And it can be considered as follows. Even though He is having these things as his body, He is not affected by the blemishes of those things.<\/p>\n<p>Starting from \u2018<em>aRamudhal<\/em>\u201d till current phrase, His aishwaryam (parathvam) has been mentioned. From this, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhwAr<\/a> has implied, \u201cIt is not possible for me to lose (You) because of any lack of aishwaryam on Your part\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Note: With this the phrases that follow a numbering pattern ends.
