This means that he accomplishes everything (or attains every desire) by his independent will alone.<\/p>\n<p>As the scriptures say, he is the one whose desires are auspicious and ever fulfilled.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Since he is the one who is capable of accomplishing all that he desires (in other words, since he is the one whose every desire is fulfilled by his will alone), he is called \u2018sidhdhasankalpa:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0938\u0924\u094d\u092f\u0938\u0902\u0915\u0932\u094d\u092a\u0924\u094d\u0935\u093e\u091a\u094d\u091a \u0938\u093f\u0926\u094d\u0927\u0938\u0902\u0915\u0932\u094d\u092a \u0908\u0930\u093f\u0924\u0903<\/p>\n<p>255) <u>sidhdhidha:<\/u> (\u0938\u093f\u0926\u094d\u0927\u093f\u0926\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>Since bhagavAn bestows the eight siddhis (ashta mahA sidhdhis viz., aNimA, mahimA, laghimA, garimA, prApthi, prAkAmyam, Ishithva and vashithva) to the practitioners of yoga, he is called \u2018sidhdhidha:\u2019 \u2013 the grantor of sidhdhis.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: \u2018sidhdhidha:\u2019 is the one who grants the eight siddhis (powers) to the practitioners of yoga.<\/p>\n<p>\u0938\u093f\u0926\u094d\u0927\u093f\u0926\u0903 \u0938\u093e\u0927\u0915\u0946\u092d\u094d\u092f\u094a \u092f\u094a \u0939\u094d\u092f\u0923\u093f\u092e\u093e\u0926\u094d\u092f\u0937\u094d\u091f\u0938\u093f\u0926\u094d\u0927\u093f\u0926\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>256) <u>sidhdhisAdhana:<\/u> (\u0938\u093f\u0926\u094d\u0927\u093f\u0938\u093e\u0927\u0928\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>Apart from granting such lower results (ashta sidhdhis), bhagavAn also possesses bhakthi as a tool that enables the mortal souls to attain verily his supreme abode. It becomes the most auspicious day for the individual soul \u2013 as much as the opening day (ankurArpaNam \u0905\u0919\u094d\u0915\u0941\u0930\u093e\u0930\u094d\u092a\u0923\u092e\u094d) is for any grand festivity in the temples.<\/p>\n<p>The root \u2018vrusha:\u2019 \u0935\u0943\u0937\u0903 (righteousness) is conjoined with \u2018ahan\u2019 \u0905\u0939\u0928\u094d (day), and gets the \u2018tach\u2019 (\u091f\u091a\u094d) adjunct, resulting in the word \u2018vrushAha:\u2019 (\u0935\u0943\u0937\u093e\u0939\u0903). The one who possesses such a day is called \u2018vrushAhI\u2019 \u2013 the one who renders the day when an individual soul approaches him as the most auspicious.<\/p>\n<p>As shown in the vishNu purAnam, akrUra claims the day when kamsa sends him to meet krishNa as the most auspicious. He considers it as the dawn in his life.<\/p>\n<p>He exclaims thus: \u201cBehold! My birth has fructified today! All the darkness in my life is gone, and the auspicious dawn is setting in. That is because I shall look into the divine face of that vishNu, who possesses wide eyes like the blossoming lotus\u2019 leaves\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other scriptures have also followed suite when they have said \u201cthe day when an individual soul doesn\u2019t see that kESava is indeed darkness; and even the night when the individual soul has seen him is itself the brightest day\u201d, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Even the upanishath exclaims thus: \u201cWhenever the individual soul rests in the shelter of bhagavAn, then it sheds all its fears (of samsAra). Whenever the individual soul moves away from bhagavAn, it is drowned in fear\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The word \u2018vrusha:\u2019 refers to \u2018dharma\u2019 or righteousness. The day when an individual soul places its first step towards bhagavAn itself results as the most auspicious and righteous day for it. Thus, bhagavAn is called \u2018vrushAhI\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0935\u0943\u0937\u094a \u0939\u093f \u0927\u0930\u094d\u092e\u0938\u094d\u0924\u0926\u094d\u0930\u0942\u092a\u092e\u094d \u0905\u0939\u0930\u094d\u092f\u0938\u094d\u092f \u0926\u093f\u0928\u0902 \u0938\u094d\u092e\u0943\u0924\u092e\u094d |<br \/>\n\u092a\u094d\u0930\u0925\u092e\u093e\u092d\u093f\u0917\u092e\u093e\u0939\u093e\u0916\u094d\u092f\u0902 \u0935\u0943\u0937\u093e\u0939\u0940 \u0938 \u092a\u094d\u0930\u0915\u0940\u0930\u094d\u0924\u093f\u0924\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>258) <u>vrushabha:<\/u> (\u0935\u0943\u0937\u092d\u0903)<\/p>\n<p>Since bhagavAn showers his nectarine love over such people who take a step towards him to protect them from the heat of the fires of samsAra, he is called \u2018vrushabha:\u2019 \u2013 the sprinkler of nectar (his love).<\/p>\n<p>The root \u2018vrush\u2019 \u0935\u0943\u0937\u094d (to shower) is adjoined with \u2018abhach\u2019 (\u0905\u092d\u091a\u094d) per grammatical rules, resulting in this divine name.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: bhagavAn is called \u2018vrushabha:\u2019 since he showers his divine nectarine love on the fallen souls being burnt in the heat of samsAra when they approach him. This manthra dispels fears from the minds of his devotees.<\/p>\n<p>\u0905\u092d\u093f\u0917\u091a\u094d\u091b\u0924\u094d \u092d\u0915\u094d\u0924\u091c\u0928\u093e\u0928\u094d \u0938\u0941\u0927\u093e\u0935\u0930\u094d\u0937\u0923\u0924\u094as\u0928\u094d\u0935\u0939\u092e\u094d |<br \/>\n\u0935\u0943\u0937\u092d\u0936\u094d\u091a \u0938\u092e\u093e\u0916\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0924\u0903 \u0938\u093f\u091e\u094d\u091a\u0928\u094d \u092d\u092f\u0939\u0930\u094a \u092e\u0928\u0941\u0903 ||<\/p>\n<p>259) <u>vishNu:<\/u> (\u0935\u093f\u0937\u094d\u0923\u0941\u0903) (also repeated in 2 and 663)<\/p>\n<p>Showering his love thus, since bhagavAn pervades all places, he is called \u2018vishNu:\u2019 \u2013 the one who pervades.<\/p>\n<p>The root \u2018vishal\u2019 (\u0935\u093f\u0937\u0932\u094d) means \u2018pervasiveness\u2019 in this context. It gets the \u2018kich\u2019 (\u0915\u093f\u091a\u094d) adjunct, resulting in this divine name.<\/p>\n<p>The pervasiveness in this divine name comes in the context of bhagavAn generously fulfilling the wishes of the individual souls \u2013 including his enemies \u2013 and hence being intimate with all such souls. Since he stays closely with every individual soul thus, this divine name is said to expound his pervasiveness.<\/p>\n<p>bhagavAn himself declares in the bhagavath gIthA, \u201cOh arjuna, there cannot be any sentient or insentient entity existing without me\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: Since bhagavAn pervades all places by his shower of divine love (like a torrent that pervades an entire area), and since he is absolutely necessary for the very existence of every entity, he is called \u2018vishNu:\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u0935\u093f\u0937\u094d\u0923\u0941\u0903 \u0938\u094d\u092f\u093e\u0926\u0935\u093f\u0928\u093e\u092d\u093e\u0935\u093e\u0924\u094d \u0935\u094d\u092f\u093e\u092a\u094d\u092f\u0935\u094d\u092f\u093e\u092a\u0915\u092d\u093e\u0935\u0924\u0903 |<\/p>\n<p>260) <u>vrushaparvA<\/u> (\u0935\u0943\u0937\u092a\u0930\u094d\u0935\u093e)<\/p>\n<p>The word \u2018vrushA:\u2019 refers to the varNa-ASrama dharmas (rights). They form the flight of steps to reach him. Hence, he is called \u2018vrushaparvA\u2019 \u2013 the one who possesses the rightful duties as steps to reach him.<\/p>\n<p>Etymology: The word \u2018vrushA:\u2019 refers to the varNa-Ashrama dharmas or the rightful duties (varNa = character \u2013 brAhmaNa, kshathriya, vaiSya, SUdhra; ASrama = the stage of life \u2013 brahmacharya, gruhastha, vAnaprastha, sanyAsa).
