7<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">muk<\/span>kaN <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">nAl<\/span> thOL <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ai<\/span>vAi aravOdu<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ARu<\/span>podhi sadaiyOn<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>aRivarunthanmaip perumaiyuL ninRanai<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ezhu<\/span>lagu eyiRRinil koNdanai<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Word by word meaning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>mukkaN \u2013 (rudhran who is) having three eyes<br \/>\nnAl thOL \u2013 four shoulders<br \/>\naivAi aravOdu \u2013 having the snake which has got five mouths<br \/>\nARu podhi sadaiyOn \u2013 and having river gangA in the plaits of his hair<br \/>\naRivu aru \u2013 cannot know you<br \/>\nthanmai \u2013 you are of that nature<br \/>\nperumaiyuL ninRanai \u2013 you are having such a greatness<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\neyiRRinil koNdanai \u2013 (by srI varaham) lifted into your trunk (dhantham)<br \/>\nEzhulagu \u2013 all the worlds<br \/>\n<strong>Simple translation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are two phrases covered in this article.<\/p>\n<p>In the first part, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azhwar<\/a> says that when it is not possible even for rudhran who possesses excess knowledge and strength, it is impossible for regular ones like adiyen to know\/reach you using such knowledge and strength; so it is You who has to help us by your causeless mercy.<\/p>\n<p>It describes rudhran having additional eyes (knowledge), and four shoulders, with a snake having five eyes, and having gangA in his matted hair (additional strength).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Gods_prayed_Vishnu.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2965\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Gods_prayed_Vishnu.jpg\" alt=\"Gods_prayed_Vishnu\" width=\"304\" height=\"379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Gods_prayed_Vishnu.jpg 304w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Gods_prayed_Vishnu-241x300.jpg 241w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 304px) 100vw, 304px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> part, it describes how <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn <\/a>as srI varaham (wild boar\/pig) lifted the world and saved it from the praLayam (annihilation) when others like rudhran also were affected (let alone help us) by the praLayam.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now, in the previous phrase <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thirumangai AzhwAr<\/a> said that upAsakars are able to understand <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>, but it is only to the extent that they see based on what they meditate on, and not that they can fully comprehend His guNams\/characteristics.<\/p>\n<p>To show this, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhwAr<\/a> points out that perumAn is such, that even rudhran who is greater in knowledge and strength cannot identify <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn&#8217;<\/a>s guNams fully well.<\/p>\n<p>mukkaN &#8230;. \u2013 the phrase says that rudhran who has got additional eyes (eyes holding the inner meaning to imply knowledge\/gyAnam), and who is mentioned as \u201cIshvarAth gyAnamanvichchEth\u201d [should wish to get knowledge from sivan], is proud of such knowledge; and with that if he tries to fully determine about <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>, even such a rudhran cannot achieve that \u2013 such is the nature of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>mukkAN<\/em> \u2013 one having three eyes; having more eyes implies having more knowledge.<\/p>\n<p><em>nAl thOL<\/em> \u2013 seeing sarvEshvaran having four shoulders, he (rudhran) is also having four shoulders; also implies having more strength (shakthi); As said by <em>\u201conRiraNdu kaNNinAnum unnai Eththa vallanE\u201d<\/em> [thiruchchandha viruththam 7], thus holding excess knowledge and strength he still cannot understand <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>, so there is no chance for others to know <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a> is what <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Azhwar<\/a> is letting us know.<\/p>\n<p><em>ai vAi aravOdu Aru podhi sadaiyOn \u2013<\/em> he is holding the snake that has got five mouths, and holding gangA in one part in his hair plaits; this also shows his excess of strength. By saying \u201c<em>aravOdu ARu podhi<\/em>\u201d it is saying that both are in his hair; or, by \u2018<em>aravOdu\u2019<\/em> it implies that the snake is in his body;<\/p>\n<p><em>aRivarum thanmaip perumaiyuL ninRanai \u2013 Even with all these <\/em>knowledge and strength, You are unreachable &#8211; such is your grand nature; by this, \u201cIf this is the situation for rudhran who has got such great knowledge and strength, it goes without saying that for those with negligible knowledge and strength, like adiyEn (this humble servant), it is impossible to use such things to know\/reach You; (so) It is You who has to help us with your causeless mercy\u201d \u2013 this is what <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thirumangai AzhwAr<\/a> shows with this phrase.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/varaha_avathar.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2966\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/varaha_avathar.jpg\" alt=\"varaha_avathar\" width=\"320\" height=\"479\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/varaha_avathar.jpg 428w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/varaha_avathar-201x300.jpg 201w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Ezhulagu eyiRRinil koNdanai<\/em> \u2013 when there was danger to this world due to praLayam, such rudhra, etc., did not help, but only You helped.<\/p>\n<p><em>W<\/em>hen the praLayam caught everyone including rudhran who possess knowledge and strength, and us the opposite (who lacks knowledge and strength); You took the form of mahA varAham that does not hesitate about water or mud, when all the worlds were stuck to the walls of the spheres of the universe; and You entered into and pried out and kept the world shining in the tip of your white tusks \u2013 like a bee in a lotus; like a blue diamond fixed in a silver ornament;\u00a0\u00a0 by this, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhwAr<\/a> is letting <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a> know that \u201clike you saved the earth that got into the praLayam, please have mercy save me from the praLayam that is this samsAram\u201d.
