Likewise, I cannot remove the ones that separate me from You, that are, this samsAram and my avidhyA, karma, vAchanA, ruchi (lack of knowledge about nature of self, etc., long lasting impressions of my pApams, and the taste for other things, which I still have got left in me); only You please remove such demons that separate me from You.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pt388-rama-ravana-courtesy-crafts-of-india-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2594\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pt388-rama-ravana-courtesy-crafts-of-india-2-788x1024.jpg\" alt=\"pt388-rama-ravana-courtesy-crafts-of-india-2\" width=\"402\" height=\"523\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pt388-rama-ravana-courtesy-crafts-of-india-2-788x1024.jpg 788w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pt388-rama-ravana-courtesy-crafts-of-india-2-231x300.jpg 231w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pt388-rama-ravana-courtesy-crafts-of-india-2-768x998.jpg 768w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pt388-rama-ravana-courtesy-crafts-of-india-2.jpg 831w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 402px) 100vw, 402px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2018<em>bhIshO dhEthi sUrya:<\/em>\u2019 (sun rises because of his fear (obedience) of paramAthmA). But when rAvaNan was there in lankA the sun was afraid of Him and did not show his strength in that place (<em>nainam sUrya: prathapathi<\/em> &#8211; srI rAmAyaNam).<\/p>\n<p>Same can be applied to the moon also, so <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AzhwAr<\/a> describes rAvaNan in this way.<\/p>\n<p>ilangai \u2013 like a wasp\u2019s nest all these rAkshasas were having a ball in this place (<em>ammaNa kUththadikkum \/<\/em> <em>\u0b85\u0bae\u0bcd\u0bae\u0ba3\u0b95\u0bcd\u0b95\u0bc2\u0ba4\u0bcd\u0ba4\u0b9f\u0bbf\u0b95\u0bcd\u0b95\u0bc1\u0bae\u0bcd<\/em>), the rAkshasas who were a terror to anyone who would even just think of them \u2013 isn\u2019t this the kind of place that He destroyed?<\/p>\n<p>How did He do that?<\/p>\n<p>iru kAl vaLaiya oru silai onRiya ireyiRRu azhal vAi vALiyin attanai \u2013 using the unparalleled bow that is curved on the two ends, using the arrows that is fixed on such a bow, the arrows having two teeth and which spit fire, you destroyed the place.<\/p>\n<p>azhal vAi vALi \u2013 when placing it in the bow it would look like an arrow, and when it strikes the enemy it would be like a fire.<\/p>\n<p>vALiyin attanai \u2013 as opposed to \u2018<em>ayanai InRanai\u2019 <\/em>above, where You created brahmA by your sankalpam, here you stood on the battlefield with your bow and arrows and tormented rAvAnan.<\/p>\n<p>oru muRai &#8230; attanai \u2013 you are the one who destroyed the demon who separated pirAtti from you, not she. Likewise it is you who has to destroy the samsAram and karma, etc., that separate me from you.<\/p>\n<p>Here it gives a detailed explanation of how this neatly fits with mudhal thiruvanthAdhi\u2019s 59<sup>th<\/sup> pAsuram of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/10\/22\/mudhalazhwargal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poigai AzhwAr<\/a>,<\/p>\n<p><em>adaindha aruvinaiyOdu allal nOi pAvam<\/em><br \/>\n<em>midaindhavai mINdozhiya vENdil \u2013 nudangidaiyai<\/em><br \/>\n<em>mun ilangai vaiththAn muraN azhiya mun oru nAL<\/em><br \/>\n<em>than vil am kai vaiththAn saraN.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em>[mudhal thiruvanthAdhi<em> 59<\/em>]<\/p>\n<p>in which he describes that for the AthmA it is not in-built with these karmAs and its effects; like how iron would get the heat and color when it gets in contact with fire, AthmA due to contact with achith (nonsentient, this body), makes us believe that this body is us, that is the avidhyA, and this is all due to karmam (accumulated good and bad effects), vAsana (trace of previously acquired bad karmas), ruchi (continued interest in such things). These are <em>\u2018aru vinai\u2019 \u2013 <\/em>very hard for us to destroy<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>mINdu ozhiya vENdil \u2013 <\/em>If you wish to destroy these with all its trace, in one sweep, what do you need to do? Surrender to the one who can destroy such hard things very easily :<\/p>\n<p><em>nudangidaiyai<\/em> \u2013 having waist that is tired and suffering due to separation from perumAL.<\/p>\n<p><em>mun ilangai vaiththAn muraN azhiya &#8211; <\/em>once upon a time rAvaNan jailed such a pirAtti; and perumAL destroyed him,<\/p>\n<p><em>mun oru nAL than vil angai vaiththAN charaN<\/em> \u2013 by touching his bow; he is the means for us for destroying our hard-to-destroy connection with this samsAram, etc.<\/p>\n<p><em>muraN azhiya vil angai vaiththAn<\/em> \u2013 ((angai = am kai : beautiful hand)) \u2013 to destroy the enemies he does not even have to set the arrow in the bow and shoot it \u2013 just his touching the bow with his beautiful hands would make the enemies lose their strength and get destroyed.<\/p>\n<p><em>nudangidaiyai mun ilangai vaiththAn<\/em> \u2013 that is, our thinking that this AthmA is ours, whereas it is subservient to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>, is equivalent to rAvaNan\u2019s act of separating <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pirAtti<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Also means that those who decided that <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a> is the means for destroying their hurdles, emperumAn would take care of that, like how he took care of the enemy of pirAtti.<\/p>\n<p>Also to let us know that we hold relationship with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a> that is equal to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pirAtti<\/a>\u2019s relationship with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Also to imply to us that when we go with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emperumAn<\/a> as the means, we must get <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pirAtti<\/a> as the mediator\/connector (purushakAram), so the mudhal thiruvanthAdhi pAsuram uses the phrase starting <em>nudangidaiyai<\/em> that refers to pirAtti.<\/p>\n<p>So far in thiruvezhukURRirukkai, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thirumangai AzhwAr<\/a> shows us the following:<\/p>\n<p>Starting with <em>oru pEr undhi<\/em> in this prabandham (first phrase): you created everything from the stage of \u2018non-existent\u2019, so it is not difficult for you to help me who am in the stage of existing.<\/p>\n<p>Starting from <em>oru muRai<\/em> in this prabandham (second phrase which we are enjoying now): you destroyed rAvaNan who was the hurdle for Your being together with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pirAtti<\/a>, so it is not difficult for you to remove my hurdles for reaching you.<\/p>\n<p>Translation by raghurAm srInivAsa dAsan<\/p>\n<p>archived in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\">https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>pramEyam (goal) \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">https:\/\/koyil.org<\/a><br \/>\npramANam (scriptures) \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">http:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/<\/a><br \/>\npramAthA (preceptors) \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/<\/a><br \/>\nsrIvaishNava education\/kids portal \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/pillai.koyil.org\/\">http:\/\/pillai.koyil.org<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>srI: srImathE satakOpAya nama: srImathE rAmAnujAya nama: srImadh varavaramunayE nama: Full series Previous section 1-2-3-2-1 (1-2) oru muRai iru sudar mIdhinil iyangA mummadhiL ilangai irukAl vaLaiya oru silai onRiya IreyiRRazhalvAi vALiyin attanai &nbsp;
