In this pAsuram, he is asking whether there is any relative for him other than emperumAn. He says that others are considered as relatives due to our bewilderment but the only one who protects us at all the times and in all troublesome situations is emperumAn alone and no one else.<\/p>\n Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n uraikkilOr suRRaththAr uRRArenRArE<\/em> uraikkil \u2013 if one were to mention<\/p>\n Or suRRaththAr \u2013 agnates [people who are males and who are related from father\u2019s side]<\/p>\n uRRAr \u2013 other relatives<\/p>\n enRu \u2013 who are spoken of<\/p>\n ArE \u2013 who else is there (for me) apart from you?<\/p>\n iraikkum \u2013 being uproarious<\/p>\n kadal kidandha \u2013 reclining on thiruppARkadal (milky ocean)<\/p>\n endhAy \u2013 my swAmy (lord)!<\/p>\n enadhu uyirkku \u2013 for my AthmA (soul)<\/p>\n nanRiyAgum \u2013 being beneficial<\/p>\n Or sol \u2013 as a unique word<\/p>\n thuNai \u2013 as companion<\/p>\n uraippu ellAm \u2013 as all types of relationships<\/p>\n nin anRi \u2013 other than you<\/p>\n maRRu ilEn kaNdAy \u2013 I am without anyone, please consider<\/p>\n uraikkil Or suRRaththAr uRRAr enRu ArE<\/strong> \u2013 if one were to speak about it, who is apt to be referred to as agnates (male relatives from father\u2019s side) or other relatives? Alternatively, we can consider suRRaththAr<\/em> as relatives and uRRAr<\/em> as friends. Instead of saying \u201cThere is none who is an agnate or relative\u201d since AzhwAr<\/a> is asking emperumAn<\/a> a query \u201cWho is there as an agnate or relative\u201d it appears that AzhwAr wants emperumAn to respond saying \u201cThere is none; only I am there\u201d,<\/p>\n iraikkum kadal kidandha endhAy<\/strong> \u2013 Oh one who is reclining in the milky ocean with the expectation \u201cWouldn\u2019t someone from leelA vibhUthi (materialistic realm) desire and attain us?\u201d even though nithyasUris are always experiencing you in paramapadham! By using the word endhAy,<\/em> AzhwAr<\/a> hints that emperumAn<\/a> is observing the means to attain AzhwAr at thiruppARkadal [by carrying out a penance].
