In this pAsuram which begins with the words <em>uLLilum<\/em> (even if one thinks of), he speaks about knowledge through one\u2019s mind, as a complement to the knowledge through hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>uLLilum uLLam thadikkum vinaippadalam<\/em><br \/>\n<em>viLLa vizhiththu unnai meyyuRRAl uLLa<\/em><br \/>\n<em>ulagaLavum yAnum uLanAvan enkolO<\/em><br \/>\n<em>ulagaLandha mUrththy urai<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>ulagu aLandha mUrththy \u2013 Oh emperumAn who mercifully measured all the worlds!<\/p>\n<p>uLLilum \u2013 even if you are thought of<\/p>\n<p>uLLam thadikkum \u2013 mind puffs up [with pride]<\/p>\n<p>vinaippadalam \u2013 the bundle of sins<\/p>\n<p>viLLa \u2013 to go away (from me)<\/p>\n<p>vizhiththu \u2013 bestowing with your grace<\/p>\n<p>unnai meyyuRRAl \u2013 if (I am) able to envision you<\/p>\n<p>yAnum \u2013 I too<\/p>\n<p>uLLa ulagaLavum uLanAvan \u2013 it appears that I will permeate all over the worlds<\/p>\n<p>en kolO \u2013 how is this?<\/p>\n<p>urai \u2013 please tell (yourself)<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>uLLilum uLLam thadikkum<\/strong> \u2013 if you are thought of, just as the physical body, which has a form, puffs up, the mind too, which does not have a form, puffs up.<\/p>\n<p>AzhwAr says further \u201cif my heart will grow just by thinking of you [emperumAn], when I reach paramapadham after getting rid of my <em>karma<\/em> (results of past deeds, both good and bad), and I am able to see you with your grace, it appears that I too would pervade all over the world just like you\u201d..<\/p>\n<p><strong>vinaippadalam viLLa vizhiththu unnai meyyuRRAl<\/strong> \u2013 If am able to see you, after my bundle of sins has been eliminated with your grace. Alternatively the words could be rearranged to read <em>unnai vizhiththu meyyuRRAl<\/em> to give the meaning \u2013 if I am able to envision you through my mind here and through my eyes in parapapadham.<\/p>\n<p><strong>uLLa ulagaLavum yAnum uLanAvan enkolO<\/strong> \u2013 it appears that I too would pervade all the worlds present.
