In thiruvAimozhi 1.4 &#8220;<em>anjiRaiya mada nArAy<\/em>&#8220;, having the dhUtha prEkshaNa (sending a messenger) as a reason, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> announced his suffering to <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> and emperumAn subsequently arrived and united with AzhwAr; seeing that, AzhwAr started thinking about emperumAn&#8217;s greatness and self&#8217;s lowliness and tried to leave thinking &#8220;It is better to leave emperumAn who is to be enjoyed by nithyasUris, than associating with him which causes disrepute to him&#8221;; but emperumAn said to AzhwAr &#8220;AzhwIr! do not look at your defects, but look at my craving for you&#8221; and manifested his sauSeelyam which is visible in his thrivikrama avathAram as said in SrI rAmAyaNam bAla kANdam 29.20 &#8220;<em>Akramya lOkAn<\/em>&#8221; (Striding over the worlds), and his craving [to be with his devotees] which is visible in his navanItha chaurya (stealing butter, as krishNa) and united with AzhwAr; AzhwAr stops leaving him and mercifully explains how he united with emperumAn in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/08\/thiruvaimozhi-1-5-valavezh\/\">thiruvAimozhi 1.5<\/a> &#8220;<em>vaLavEzh ulagin<\/em>&#8220;; <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\">mAmunigaL<\/a> mercifully explains this starting with \u201c<em>vaLam mikka<\/em>\u201c.<\/p>\n<h3>pAsuram<\/h3>\n<p><em>vaLamikka mAl perumai man uyirin thaNmai<\/em><br \/>\n<em>uLAmuRRangUduruva Orndhu &#8211; thaLarvuRRu<\/em><br \/>\n<em>neenga ninai mARanai mAl needilagu seelaththAl<\/em><br \/>\n<em>pAngudanE sErththAn parindhu<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/yourlisten.com\/sarathy.thothathri\/thiruvaimozhi-nurrandhadhi-05\">Listen<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><iframe style=\"width: 100%;\" src=\"\/\/yourlisten.com\/embed\/html5?17748698\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>word-by-word meanings<\/h3>\n<p>vaLam mikka &#8211; abundantly wealthy<br \/>\nmAl &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>&#8216;s<br \/>\nperumai &#8211; greatness (of being the controller of nithyasUris)<br \/>\nman uyirin thaNmai &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>&#8216;s lowliness<br \/>\nuLam uRRu &#8211; having realised in the divine heart<br \/>\nangu &#8211; in that state<br \/>\nUduruva Orndhu &#8211; deeply analysed<br \/>\nthaLarvuRRu &#8211; became weak<br \/>\nneenga ninai &#8211; thought to leave (that emperumAn)<br \/>\nmARanai &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a><br \/>\nmAl &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">sarvESvaran<\/a><br \/>\nneedu ilagu seelaththAl &#8211; his Seela guNam (quality of simplicity) which is greatly shining<br \/>\nparindhu &#8211; in a friendly manner<br \/>\npAngudanE &#8211; happily<br \/>\nsErththAn &#8211; embraced.<\/p>\n<h3>Simple Translation<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> realised the abundantly wealthy <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>&#8216;s greatness and <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>&#8216;s lowliness, in his heart and deeply analysed it in that state, became weak and thought to leave emperumAn; <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">sarvESvaran<\/a>, with his greatly shining Seela guNam, happily embraced AzhwAr with in a friendly manner.<\/p>\n<h3>Highlights from vyAkyAnam<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><em>vaLamikka mAl perumai man uyirin thaNmai<\/em> &#8211; That is, the greatness of <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">sarvESvaran<\/a> being the lord of nithyasUris who are untouched by samsAra, and the lowliness of <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> which is potential abode for faults due to being associated with achith (matter) and due to being infinitesimal. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\">mAmunigaL<\/a> is following what is said by <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> in &#8220;<em>vaLavEzh ulagin muthalAya vAnOr iRaiyai <\/em><em>kaLavEzh veNNey thoduvuNda kaLvA enban<\/em> &#8211; <em>aruvinaiyEn<\/em>&#8221; (I have who have inexhaustible sins meditated upon the supreme lord of both material and spiritual reams, became depleted and said &#8220;Oh thief! You are stealing butter with great interest and eating it secretly&#8221; as said by mother yasOdhA) [1st pAsuram].<\/li>\n<li><em>uLam uRRu<\/em> &#8211; Having realised <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>&#8216;s greatness and self&#8217;s lowliness.<\/li>\n<li><em>angu Uduruva Orndhu<\/em> &#8211; While realising in the divine heart in this manner, deeply analysing it. Analysing it starting with &#8220;<em>aruvinaiyEn<\/em>&#8221; (me, great sinner) [1st pAsuram] upto &#8220;<em>adiyEn siRiya gyAnaththan<\/em>&#8221; (I am having very little knowledge) [7th pAsuram]. In this manner, seeing it with clear vision.<\/li>\n<li><em>thaLarvuRRu<\/em> &#8211; becoming very depleted. As said in SrI rAmAyaNam uththara kANdam 48 &#8220;<em>nakalvadhyaiva<\/em>&#8221; and in SrI rAmAyaNam uththara kANdam 106 &#8220;<em>yadhiprIthi:<\/em>&#8220;.<\/li>\n<li><em>neenga ninai mARanai<\/em> &#8211; AzhwAr who tries to bring glory to <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> by leaving him. Though separation will cause destruction for self, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> who thinks to be in separation to bring glory for the lord.<\/li>\n<li><em>mAl<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">sarvESvaran<\/a> who revealed his craving and became infatuated towards his devotees. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\">mAmunigaL<\/a> is highlighting these based on AzhwAr&#8217;s words such as &#8220;<em>nedumAlE<\/em>&#8221; (Oh great lord) [10th pAsuram], &#8220;<em>mAlE mAyap perumAnE<\/em>&#8221; (Oh lord who is greatly amazing!) [11th pAsuram]. In this manner, the one who became attached to his devotees.<\/li>\n<li><em>needilagu seelaththAl<\/em> &#8211; With the eternal, expansive qualities of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>. That is, emperumAn attracting everyone with his sauSeelyam etc as said in &#8220;<em>thisaigaL ellAm thiruvadiyAl thAyOn<\/em>&#8221; (one who spread his lotus foot over all directions) [3rd pAsuram], &#8220;&#8221;<em>uNdAy ulagEzh munnamE<\/em>&#8221; (you swallowed the seven worlds previously) [8th pAsuram] and in &#8220;<em>ney UN marundhO mAyOnE<\/em>&#8221; (Oh amazing person! Is clarified butter a medicine for you?) [8th pAsuram].<\/li>\n<li><em>parindhu pAngudanE sErththAn<\/em> &#8211; Meaning, becoming friendly with him [<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a>] as with a friend, instead of letting him go, he united with him as if it is a previously unseen wealth to him. He desired for AzhwAr as he desired for the butter in thiruvAyppAdi (gOkulam).
