In this pAsuram, he says that when he goes near emperumAn in order to attain him, his limbs become very weak and he is unable to approach him. This pAsuram is an example of how <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs<\/a> become ecstatic when they are deep in devotion.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>pAlAzhi nI kidakkum paNbai yAm kEttEyum<\/em><br \/>\n<em>kAlAzhum nenjazhiyum kaN suzhalum neelAzhich<\/em><br \/>\n<em>chOdhiyAy AdhiyAy tholvinai empARkadiyum<\/em><br \/>\n<em>nIdhiyAy niRchArndhu ninRu<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>neel Azhi \u2013 like a dark ocean<br \/>\nsOdhiyAy \u2013 having effulgence<br \/>\nAdhiyAy \u2013 Oh one who is the cause for everything!<br \/>\nempAl \u2013 with me<br \/>\nthol vinai kadiyum \u2013 removing sins which have been there since time immemorial<br \/>\nnIdhiyAy \u2013 one who has the nature!<br \/>\nnin sArndhu ninRu \u2013 holding on to you<br \/>\nnI pAlAzhi kidakkum paNbai \u2013 the beauty with which you are reclining in the milky ocean<br \/>\nyAm kEttEyum \u2013 even as I hear<br \/>\nkAlAzhum \u2013 my legs become weak<br \/>\nnenjazhiyum \u2013 my mind will flutter<br \/>\nkaN suzhalum \u2013 eyes will spin (in bewilderment)<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>neelAzhich chOdhiyAy pAlAzhi nI kidakkum<\/strong> \u2013 The way <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, with his dark, effulgent complexion is reclining on the milky ocean is similar to a black ocean reclining on a white ocean.<\/p>\n<p><strong>nI kidakkum<\/strong> \u2013 Just as it is mentioned in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/10\/thirumalai-23\/\">thirumAlai 23<\/a> \u201c<em>kidandhadhOr kidakkai<\/em>\u201d, isn\u2019t emperumAn\u2019s beautiful posture in the reclining state much superior to his beautiful states in standing or sitting postures!<\/p>\n<p><strong>paNbai yAm kEttEyum<\/strong> \u2013 The moment I hear about your reclining posture. How much will <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a>, who suffers so much on just hearing about the beauty of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u2019s reclining posture in the milky ocean, suffer if he sees him directly? AzhwAr next describes how he suffers on hearing about emperumAn\u2019s beauty.<\/p>\n<p><strong>kAlAzhum nenjazhiyum kaN suzhalum<\/strong> \u2013 my legs will become weak. My mind will flutter. My eyes will spin around in bewilderment. The term <em>kAl<\/em> is representative of all the five organs of activity (hands, legs, mouth, reproductive and anal organs) while the term <em>kaN<\/em> is representative of all the five organs of senses (eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin). <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/periyazhwar\/\">periyAzhwAr<\/a> mercifully describes similar emotions in periyAzhwAr thirumozhi 5-3-5 \u201c<em>kAlum ezhA kaNNa nIrum nillA udal sOrndhu nadungi kural mElumezhA mayirkkUchchumaRA ena thOLgaLum vIzhvozhiyA mAlugaLA niRkum en mananE <\/em>\u201d (my legs do not move out from the place where they were; my tears are not retained inside; the body is in a shambles and I am not able to speak; gooseflesh happens continuously and the shoulders droop down; my mind is utterly bewildered). Didn\u2019t <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thondaradippodi-azhwar\/\">thoNdaraippodi AzhwAr<\/a> also mercifully say in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/09\/thirumalai-19\/\">thirumAlai 19<\/a> \u201c<em>aravaNaiththuyilumAkaNdu udalenakku urugumAlO<\/em>\u201d (after seeing the reclining posture of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> on AdhiSEshan, my body melts) and in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/09\/thirumalai-18\/\">thirumAlai 18<\/a> \u201c<em>kaNNanaikkaNda kaNgaL paniyarumbudhirumAlO<\/em>\u201d (my eyes, after seeing the divine form of kaNNan (krishNa) have not stopped shedding tears)!<\/p>\n<p>Is it only the beauty of emperumAn which is making <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> to behave like this? . . . .<\/p>\n<p><strong>AdhiyAy<\/strong> \u2013 Oh the one who created me and who is the ordained lord for me!<\/p>\n<p><strong>tholvinai em pAl kadiyum nIdhiyAy<\/strong> \u2013 Oh one who has the nature of removing my sins which have been there since time immemorial!
