This implies that <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> would like to be dependent on his followers by being servile to them, just as people say that they like something bitter or they like something sour.<\/p>\n<p>Where have we seen this behaviour in emperumAn?<\/p>\n<p><strong>dhAmOdharanAr<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says that we have seen such a behaviour when he was tied down to a mortar by his mother yaSOdhA through his stomach and beaten for stealing butter. The word <em>dhAmOdhara<\/em> means stomach being tied by a rope. The word <em>adimai<\/em> refers to being servile. Alternatively <em>adimai<\/em> could refer to followers [of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>] and the meaning would change to [emperumAn] being affectionate towards his followers who are servile to him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>dhAmOdharanAr thamakku adimai sey enRAl seyyAdhu<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says that when he tells his heart to carry out service to kaNNa (krishNa) who is the follower of his followers, his heart does not carry this out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>emakkenRu thAm seyyem thIvinaikkE thAzhvuRuvar<\/strong> \u2013 he [the heart] will be stubborn saying \u201cI will do whatever I want\u201d and will carry out inappropriate acts only. Here the word <em>thAm seyyum thIvinai<\/em> refers to the act of moving away from <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> considering itself as \u2018unsuitable\u2019. The long syllable in <em>thIvinaikk<strong>E<\/strong><\/em> implies that the heart is wont to doing this often.<\/p>\n<p><strong>nenjinAr<\/strong> \u2013 the elderly person who goes in his own way instead of listening to me!<\/p>\n<p><strong>yAm seyvadhu ivvidaththu ingu yAdhu<\/strong> \u2013 emperumAn is keen on taking us as his follower. The heart is keen on moving away from <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>.
