It is because I got this state of <em>parabhakthi <\/em>that emperumAn is very simple for me.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>uNara oruvarkku eLiyanE sevvE<\/em><br \/>\n<em>iNarum thuzhAyalangal endhai uNarath<\/em><br \/>\n<em>thanakku eLiyar evvaLavar avvaLavanAnAl<\/em><br \/>\n<em>enakku eLiyan emperumAn ingu<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>iNarum \u2013 blossomed<br \/>\nthuzhAy alangal endhai \u2013 empirAn who has thuLasi garland<br \/>\noruvarkku sevvE uNara eLiyanE \u2013 is he simple for anyone (of his own efforts) to know well? (no)<br \/>\nthanakku eLiyar \u2013 his devotees<br \/>\nevvaLavar \u2013 the extent to which they have affection<br \/>\navvaLavan \u2013 he has affection to the same extent towards them<br \/>\nAnAl \u2013 hence<br \/>\nenakku \u2013 for me (who has huge affection for him)<br \/>\nemperumAn \u2013 my swAmy (lord)<br \/>\ningu uNara eLiyan \u2013 is simple for me to understand in this world itself<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>sevvE uNara oruvarkku eLiyanE<\/strong> \u2013 it is not possible for anyone to say that <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> is \u2018this great\u2019 by citing a simile or to say that he \u2019is like\u2019 this by estimating him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>oruvarkku<\/strong> \u2013 even if the person is great in terms of knowledge, it is not possible for even such a person to know about <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> with his own efforts. Didn\u2019t even upanishath say this as mentioned in kEnOpanishath 2-3 \u201c<em>yasyAmatham thasya matham matham yasys na vEdha sa:<\/em> I <em>avigyAtham vijAnathAm vigyAtham avijAnathAm<\/em> II\u201d (for whom brahmam (supreme being) is not known (as being this much), (it) is known to him; for whom it is considered as known, he does not know (it). For those who know (about its extent) it is unknown and for those who do not know (about its extent) it is known).<\/p>\n<p>Which is that entity?<\/p>\n<p><strong>iNarum thuzhAy alangal endhai<\/strong> \u2013 The identity for the supreme being who cannot be estimated is the thuLasi garland which is on his shoulders. The thamizh poets of <em>sanga kAlam<\/em> (a period which is a few millennia ago) also sang in praise of such <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> in their <em>paripAdal<\/em> composition \u201c<em>nARu iNarththuzhAyOn nalgin alladhai ERudhal eLidhO vIRupeRuthuRakkam<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>iNarum<\/strong> \u2013 blossoming. Once the thuLasi garland is applied on emperumAn\u2019s divine shoulders it will blossom more than it would on its own land. On the shoulders of dhEvas (celestial entities) a garland will remain without withering. Since emperumAn is the dhEva (lord) for all the dhEvas, the garland will blossom more than it would otherwise.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> was asked \u201cIf he cannot be estimated, then he could be non-existent\u201d. He responds . . .<\/p>\n<p><strong>uNarath thanakku eLiyavar evvaLavar avvaLavan<\/strong> \u2013 we only said that he cannot be known to be \u2018to this extent\u2019. We did not say that he cannot be known at all. He will manifest himself to his followers with an affection which is to the same extent with which his followers have affection towards him. The word <em>uNara<\/em> refers to the affection related to knowledge. Has it not been mercifully mentioned in <a href=\"http:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/7-17\/\">SrI bhagavath gIthA 7-17<\/a> \u201c<em>thEshAm gyAni nithya yuktha: Ekabhakthir viSishyathE<\/em>: I I <em>priyO hi gyAninO\u2019thyarthamaham sa cha mama priya<\/em>: II\u201d (One who is always with (me) and who shows affection only for me is superior (among those four types of devotees). Am I not dear to that knowledgeable one? (In the same way) that knowledgeable person is also dear to me) and in nAchchiyAr thirumozhi 11-10 \u201c<em>thammaiyugappAraith thAm ugappar<\/em>\u201d (he will show affection towards those who show affection towards him)!<\/p>\n<p><strong>AnAl enakku eLiyan emperumAn ingu<\/strong> \u2013 Hence, that <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, who is my swAmy (lord) is simple enough for me to be seen by the internal eye of my mind since I have <em>parabhakthi<\/em> due to which I can see him with my internal eye in this world itself.<\/p>\n<p>In the previous pAsuram, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> had lamented \u201c<em>inRE nAm kANAdhiruppadhuvum<\/em>\u201d since he had not attained the state of <em>parabhakthi<\/em> then, while in this pAsuram since he has got <em>parabhakthi<\/em> he says that <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> is simple enough for him to see him with his internal eye.
