First, let us consider the case where the pAsuram is read from the point of view of emperumAn.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>avathArikai\u00a0 &#8211; 1<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says that in order to cherish his followers, when <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> gets close to them and even if they do not welcome him, he does\u00a0 not take it hard on himself.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>sUzhndhadiyAr vENdinakkAl thOnRAdhu vittAlum<\/em><br \/>\n<em>vAzhndhiduvar pinnum tham vAy thiRavAr sUzhndhengum<\/em><br \/>\n<em>vALvaraigaL pOlarakkan vanthalaigaL thAm idiyath<\/em><br \/>\n<em>thALvarai villEndhinAr thAm<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>engum sUzhndhu \u2013 surrounding on all sides<br \/>\nvAL varaigaL pOl \u2013 similar to shiny mountains<br \/>\narakkan van thalaigaL thAm idiya \u2013 such that the strong heads of demon rAvaNa are rent asunder<br \/>\nthAL varai vil \u2013 bow, like a mountain, reaching to his foot<br \/>\nEndhinAr thAm \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> who bore (the bow)<br \/>\nsUzhndhu \u2013 taking many incarnations<br \/>\nadiyAr vENdinakkAl \u2013 when searching for those who are willing to be his servitors<br \/>\nthOnRAdhu vittAlum \u2013 even if he does\u00a0 not get any follower<br \/>\nvAzhndhiduvar \u2013 he will remain joyous<br \/>\npinnum \u2013 even after (reaching paramapadham)<br \/>\ntham vAy thiRavAr \u2013 he will not discuss this (with <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sri-mahalakshmi\/\">pirAtti<\/a>)<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyAnam \u2013 1 <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>sUzhndhadiyAr vENdinakkAl thOnRAdhu vittAlum vAzhndhiduvar<\/strong> \u2013 Just as it is mentioned in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/05\/thiruvaimozhi-2-7-6-madhusudhanai-anri\/\">thiruvAimozhi 2-7-6<\/a> \u201c<em>edhir sUzhal pukku<\/em>\u201d, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> will remain joyous even if he does not get desired welcome from samsAris (dwellers of materialistic realm) when he takes incarnations repeatedly, expecting to get followers who will welcome him, thinking \u201cWe have taken all efforts for their sake\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>pinnum tham vAy thiRavAr<\/strong> \u2013 when he is together with <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sri-mahalakshmi\/\">pirAtti<\/a> (SrI mahAlakshmi), he will not tell even her that these people did not welcome him. When children commit mistakes, it is normal for the father to discuss these with the mother and get comforted. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says that <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> [the father] will not tell even her [the mother]. The 364<sup>th<\/sup> <em>sUthram<\/em> (aphorism) in SrIvachana bhUshaNam chapter 3 \u201c<em>aRivikka uriyavan agappada vAy thiRavAdhE sarvagya vishayangaLukkum mAraikkum ennA ninRadhirE<\/em>\u201d (when the apt person is available, not talking to him about this and hiding everything from him are considered as normal) and the explanation given by SrI maNavALa mAmunigaL for that <em>sUthram<\/em> are an explanation for this pAsuram.<\/p>\n<p><strong>sUzhndhengum vALvaraigaL pOlarakkan van thalaigaL thAm idiyath thAL varai villEndhinAr thAm<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> held his bow (in his incarnation as SrI rAma) which was like a mountain reaching down to his foot and surrounded the demon rAvaNa with his arrows which made people think that it was only SrI rAma\u2019s arrows wherever they saw, and severed the heads of rAvaNa which were like shiny mountains. Even though emperumAn has such power (with his omnipotence), he appeared powerless when his followers are indifferent to him. He will not tell even <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sri-mahalakshmi\/\">pirAtti<\/a> that they are indifferent to him.<\/p>\n<p>Let us now consider the pAsuram from the point of view of the followers of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> and go through the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> avathArikai and vyAkyAnam.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>avathArikai\u00a0 &#8211; 2<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says that when emperumAn\u2019s followers are worshipping him, and even if he does not manifest himself to them, they will not despise him.
