He says that he has never forgotten emperumAn at any time, since emperumAn has been protecting him from the time that he (AzhwAr) has been in the womb.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>enRum maRandhaRiyEn en nenjaththE vaiththu<\/em><br \/>\n<em>ninRum irundhum nedumAlai enRum<\/em><br \/>\n<em>thiruvirundha mArban sirIdharanakku ALAy<\/em><br \/>\n<em>karu irundha nAL mudhalAk kAppu<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word for Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>karu irundha nAL mudhalA \u2013 from the time I was in the womb<br \/>\nkAppu \u2013 since I received protection (from <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>)<br \/>\nthiru enRum irundha mArvan sirIdharanukku \u2013 to that thirumAL who has pirAtti (SrI mahAlakshmi) residing permanently on his chest<br \/>\nAL Ay \u2013 being a servitor<br \/>\nnedu mAlai \u2013 that supreme being<br \/>\nen nenjaththu \u2013 in my heart<br \/>\nvaiththu \u2013 firml establishing<br \/>\nninRum irundhum enRum \u2013 in all states such as standing, sitting etc<br \/>\nmaRandhaRiyEn \u2013 I kept thinking (of him) without forgetting<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>enRum maRandhaRiyEn en nenjaththE vaiththu ninRum irundhum<\/strong> \u2013 keeping sarvESvaran in my heart without any distinction between whether I am standing or sitting, i.e. at all times, and not forgetting him ever. This is similar to <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> mercifully saying in thiruvAimozhi 9-6-10 \u201c<em>ennil munnam pAriththuth thAn ennai muRRum paruginAn <\/em>\u201d (before I could enjoy him, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> devoured me fully) and in thiruvAimozhi 10-10-10 \u201c<em>adhanil periya en avAvaRach chUzhndhAyE <\/em>\u201d (emperumAn made his desire to be with <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirumazhisai-azhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> much bigger than the desire of AzhwAr, and joined AzhwAr with his consorts, primordial matter, nithyasUris et al ).<\/p>\n<p><strong>ninRum irundhum<\/strong> \u2013 just as it is mentioned in nAradhIyam \u201c<em>AsInA vA SayAnA vA thishtanthO yathra kuthra vA<\/em> I <em>namO nArAyaNEthi manthraika SaraNA vayam<\/em> II \u201d (we have taken thirumanthram as our refuge whether we are sitting anywhere, or standing or lying down, without any disctinction), this implies that even when carrying out normal activities such as standing or sitting, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirumazhisai-azhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> is fully meditating on nArAyaNa.<\/p>\n<p>Is it only that AzhwAr did not forget <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> ever? He says further that he was engaging himself fully with service to emperumAn &#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>enRum thiruvirundha mArvan sirIdharanukku ALAy<\/strong> \u2013 SrIdhEvi (SrI mahAlakshmi) is always residing in the divine chest of emperumAn as mentioned in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2017\/06\/srivishnu-sahasranamam\/\">SrI vishNu sahasranAmam<\/a> \u201c<em>nithya SrI:<\/em>\u201d (always with SrI mahAlakshmi) and in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2018\/06\/thiruvaimozhi-6-10-10-agalagillen-part-1\/\">thiruvAimozhi 6-10-10<\/a> \u201c<em>agalagillEn iRaiyum enRu alarmEl mangai uRai mArbA<\/em>\u201d (Oh emperumAn who has on your chest SrI mahAlakshmi, who says that she will not separate from you even for a moment!) in order to ensure that followers attain the divine feet of emperumAn the moment they cry out for it. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirumazhisai-azhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says that he was able to carry out service to <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">SrIdharan<\/a>, the \u00a0one who has <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sri-mahalakshmi\/\">SrI mahAlakshmi<\/a> on his divine chest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>enRum thiruvidundha mArvan sirIdharan<\/strong> \u2013 while other entities may be called as SrImAn as a term of respect\u00a0 even though they have no connection with SrI mahAlakshmi (just as a worm, which has no connection with the fruit mango is called as mango-worm), in the case of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, pirAtti (SrI mahAlakshmi) is always residing in his chest and hence he is aptly called as sirIdharan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>sirIdharanukku ALAy<\/strong> \u2013 just as <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/11\/thiruppallandu-11-al-vazhakku\/\">thiruppallANdu 11<\/a> says \u201c<em>thirumAlE nAnum unakkup pazhavadiyEn<\/em>\u201d (Oh Sriman nArAyaNa! I have been your servitor for a very long time) <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirumazhisai-azhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> implies that the meaning of receptacle of kainkaryam is only the couple [in other words, kainkaryam (service) is carried out only to emperumAn and pirAtti together) and that the reason for his attaining such distinction is only because of pirAtti\u2019s mercy.<\/p>\n<p>What is the reason for not forgetting <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> and for carrying out service to him?<\/p>\n<p><strong>karu irundha nAL mudhalAk kAppu<\/strong> \u2013 AzhwAr says that right from the time when he was inside (his mother\u2019s) womb, emperumAn had blessed him, made him as his follower and protected him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>karu irundha nAL mudhalAk kAppu<\/strong> \u2013 I received this huge distinction because <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> showered his mercy on me from the time I was in the womb, and protected me. Has it not been mentioned in mahAbhAratham mOksha parvam \u201c<em>jAyamAnam hi purusham yam paSyEth madhusUdhana:<\/em> I <em>sAthvikas sa thu vigyEya: sa vai mOkshArtha chinthaka:<\/em> II \u201d (the one who is blessed by emperumAn even as he is born is known to be full of sAthvika (composed of purely good qualities); only he will think about mOksham)!
