Instead of sending his servitors to remove the troubles (just like a person appoints a representative to carry out deeds ordained by SAsthram such as sandhyAvandhanam etc), this entity will run to remove the troubles of his followers, himself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Odi<\/strong> \u2013 his (that entity\u2019s) deed will be one with which his followers will be involved, as mentioned by <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/parasara-bhattar\/\">SrI paraSAra bhattar<\/a> in SrI rangarAjasthavam 2-57 \u201c<em>bhagavathas thvarAyai nama:<\/em>\u201d (I salute the speed of emperumAn) [reference here is to the act of emperumAn who came running to save the life of his follower gajEndhra (an elephant) who was troubled by a crocodile].<\/p>\n<p><strong>ayarvenRa thIrppAn<\/strong> \u2013 he will remove all the troubles of his follower who is under the control of messengers of yama. He removes the trouble undergone by his follower when he is shivering at the mere sight of yama\u2019s messengers, when he is dragged out of his body by yama\u2019s messengers etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ayarvenRa<\/strong> \u2013 The opinion here is that , in reality, only that which is experienced by the follower at the hands of messengers of yama is apt to be termed as trouble. All the others are joyous experience only, when compared to this.<\/p>\n<p><strong>thIrppAn pEr pAdi<\/strong> \u2013 heartily reciting the divine names of the entity who removes the trouble.<\/p>\n<p><strong>seyal thIrach chidhiththu vAzhvArE vAzhvAr<\/strong> \u2013 only those who live considering <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> himself as the means [for attaining him], rejecting all other means which are to be carried out by them, will prosper.<\/p>\n<p><strong>seyal thIrach chindhiththu vAzhvAr<\/strong> \u2013 these are the people who think that there is nothing that they can do in order to get rid of their troubles and to experience utmost happiness. These are the people who think that only emperumAn, who comes running to protect them when they are at the hands of yama\u2019s messengers, is the means. These are the people who have been referred to by <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thondaradippodi-azhwar\/\">thoNdaradippodi AzhwAr<\/a> in his <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/12\/thirumalai-38-part-3\/\">thirumAlai 38<\/a> as \u201c<em>kadaiththalaiyirundhu vAzhum sOmbar<\/em>\u201d (those who have given the responsibility of looking after them to emperumAn).<\/p>\n<p>Till now, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirumazhisai-azhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> has been talking about the greatness of those who are without any means. Now he talks about the lowliness of those who attempt to attain <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> on their own.<\/p>\n<p><strong>siRu samayap pandhaniyAr vAzhvEl pazhudhu<\/strong> \u2013 there is no benefit to those who attempt to follow the lowly means of <em>karma yOgam<\/em> (path of carrying out ordained deeds), <em>gyAna yOgam<\/em> (path of knowledge leading to carrying out those deeds), <em>bhakthi yOgam<\/em> (path of devotion towards emperumAn) which are to be observed over very long periods of time, referred to as \u201c<em>janmAnthara sahasrEshu<\/em>\u201d (thousands of successive births) and which lead to cultivation of ego in the mind of samsAri. This is opposite of his <em>svabhAvam<\/em> (basic quality) of being a dependent servitor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>siRusamayam<\/strong> \u2013 lowly means unlike SrIman nArAyaNa as mentioned in nArAyaNa sUktham\u00a0 \u201c<em>nArAyaNam pArAyaNam<\/em>\u201d (nArAyaNa who is the superior means).<\/p>\n<p><strong>samayap pandhanai<\/strong> \u2013 the opinion here is that these are means which bind the jIvAthmA (soul) to samsAram (materialistic realm) but which go in the name of being the means for attaining mOksham; in reality, these means take the jIvAthmA far away from matters relating to <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> for a very long time, just as <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> mentioned in periya thiruvandhAdhi 6 \u201c<em>neRi kAtti nIkkudhiyO<\/em>\u201d (will you reject me by showing me other means?)<\/p>\n<p><strong>vAzhvEl pazhudhu<\/strong> \u2013 if one analyses, it would be clear that there is no benefit for these jIvAthmAs by following such means.<\/p>\n<p><strong>samayam<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirumazhisai-azhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> refers to these means as <em>samayam<\/em> since they have been classified based on the interest of each jIvAthmA. It should be understood here that these jIvAthmAs, who are <em>siRusamayap pandhanaiyAr, <\/em>are firmly engaged with <em>pravruththi mArgam<\/em> (the path of carrying out deeds on one\u2019s own efforts to attain <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>) as opposed to <em>nivruththi mArgam<\/em> (in which the jIvAthmA entrusts the responsibility of making him attain <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> with emperumAn himself) which is indicated by the words <em>seyal thIrach chindhiththu vAzhvAr<\/em>. It should not be taken here that AzhwAr is talking about jivAthmAs who are following other philosophies since AzhwAr has already corrected these jIvAthmAs who are following other philosophies through his instructions and there is no need to talk ill of them now.
