He says aloud to the entire world, in this pAsuram, that there cannot be a greater benefit, which emperumAn did for him, than his mingling with AzhwAr\u2019s heart despite his being a supreme being.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>kalandhAn ennuLLaththuk kAmavEL thAdhai<\/em><br \/>\n<em>nalandhAnum IdhoppadhuNdE alarndhalargaL<\/em><br \/>\n<em>ittEththum Isanum nAnmuganum enRivargaL<\/em><br \/>\n<em>vittEththa mAttAdha vEndhu<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word for Word Meanings8<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>kAmavEL thAdhai \u2013 one who is manmatha\u2019s (cupid\u2019s) father<br \/>\nalarndha alargaL ittEththum Isanum \u2013 sivan who praises emperumAn after offering blossomed flowers<br \/>\nnAnmuganum \u2013 brahmA<br \/>\nenRa ivargaL \u2013 (distinguished) dhEvas such as these<br \/>\nvittu Eththa mAttAdha \u2013 one who cannot be praised completely<br \/>\nvEndhu \u2013 dhEvAdhidhEva (lord of all dhEvas) [emperumAn]<br \/>\nen uLLaththu \u2013 in my heart<br \/>\nkalandhAn \u2013 mingled<br \/>\nIdhu oppadhu nalam thAnum uNdE \u2013 is there any benefit equalling this benefit? (no, there is none).<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>kalandhAn en uLLaththu<\/strong> \u2013 emperumAn mingled, like water mingles with water, with my heart which has been engaged with lowly worldly matters.<\/p>\n<p>Who is such an entity?<\/p>\n<p><strong>kAmavEL thAdhai<\/strong> \u2013 one who is called as <em>manmatha<\/em> (cupid) among <em>manmatha<\/em> since he gave birth to <em>manmatha<\/em> (lord of love) who attracts others towards him because of his beauty. Such manmatha who is most beautiful desired a lowly entity such as I (AzhwAr) and mingled. <em>kAmavEL thAdhai<\/em> \u2013 father of <em>manmatha<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>kAmavEL<\/strong> \u2013 <em>kAman<\/em> \u2013 one who creates desire in others. <em>vEL<strong> \u2013 <\/strong><\/em>beautiful person. <em>kAman<\/em> is samskrutha word and <em>vEL<\/em> is thamizh word.<\/p>\n<p>Is it that he has only beauty?<\/p>\n<p><strong>alarndhalargaL . . . vEndhu<\/strong> \u2013 Siva and brahmA who think of themselves as ISvara (one who controls all) offered freshly blossomed flowers at the divine feet of emperumAn and praised him to their hearts\u2019 content. Such emperumAn who cannot be fully praised by brahmA, Siva et al mingled with me, says AzhwAr.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Isanum nAnmuganum enRivargaL<\/strong> \u2013 this indicates the prominence of Siva and brahmA who are heads of dhEvas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vittEththa<\/strong> \u2013 Praising handsomely. Praising with full throat [loudly]. Praising totally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vEndhu kalandhAn en uLLaththu<\/strong> \u2013 one who is supreme, mingled with a very lowly person due to his desire.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Idhu oppadhu nalandhAnum uNdE<\/strong> \u2013 Is there any benefit which is equal to this?<\/p>\n<p><strong>alarndhalargaL . . .vittEththa mAttAdha vEndhu kalandhAn; Idhoppadhu nalandhANum uNdE<\/strong> \u2013 rudhra, brahmA et al worship emperumAn with just blossomed flowers and praise emperumAn on their own with the aim of attaining emperumAn through their efforts just like people pick up grains from fields with difficulty for their sustenance. On the other hand, emperumAn, of his own accord, enters AzhwAr\u2019s heart, head over heels.
