AzhwAr indicates to him in this pAsuram, the proper order.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>anbAvAy AramudhamAvAy adiyEnukku<\/em><br \/>\n<em> inbAvAy ellAmum nIyAvAy pon pAvai<\/em><br \/>\n<em> kELvA kiLaroLi en kEsavanE kEdinRi<\/em><br \/>\n<em> ALvAyk kadiyEn nAn AL<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word for Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>anbu AvAy \u2013 one who is the epitome of affection (towards me)!<br \/>\nAr amudham AvAy \u2013 One who is like complete nectar!<br \/>\nadiyEnukku inbu AvAy \u2013 one who created for me (the experiencing of your) enjoyment!<br \/>\nellAmum nI AvAy \u2013 one who is all other enjoyment for me!<br \/>\npon pAvai kELvA \u2013 Oh the consort of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sri-mahalakshmi\/\">mahAlakshmi<\/a>!<br \/>\nkiLar oLi \u2013 (due to the union with mahAlakshmi) having radiant splendour<br \/>\nen kEsavanE \u2013 Oh <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> (my Lord)!<br \/>\nkEdu inRi \u2013 without any fault<br \/>\nALvAykku \u2013 for you who would take in a servitor<br \/>\nadiyEn nAn \u2013 I, the servitor,<br \/>\nAL \u2013 am a servitor<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>anbAvAy<\/strong> \u2013 you are the epitome of affection. Starting from \u201c<em>nAnmuganai<\/em>\u201d (1<sup>st<\/sup> pAsuram), <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirumazhisai-azhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> had been emphasising on <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u2019s supremacy. Once he starts expressing his experience, he concludes that affection is emperumAn\u2019s form. This is similar to those who said <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2014\/12\/thiruppavai-01-margazhi-thingal\/\">\u201c<em>nArAyaNanE namakkE paRai tharuvAn<\/em>\u201d<\/a> (he will provide us with kainkaryam towards him) in the beginning, called him as <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/01\/thiruppavai-26-male-manivanna\/\">\u201c<em>mAlE<\/em>\u201d<\/a> (one who is affectionate) when they approached him. Alternatively, this could be construed as AzhwAr who told earlier <em>AkkinEn anbu<\/em> (making his as well as others\u2019 affection towards emperumAn) realises that it is emperumAn who created affection in him, and hence calls him <em>ennudaiya anbAgavum AnavanE<\/em> (one who became by affection). Thus this could be interpreted as AzhwAr saying (1) one who created your love towards me and (2) one who created affection in me towards you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AramudhamAvAy<\/strong> \u2013 you are the supremely enjoyable entity for me. As epitome of affection, only you are the most complete nectar for me. Apart from creating affection in me, you offered me yourself as an outlet for that affection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ar amudhamAvAy<\/strong> \u2013 Complete nectar. This is nectar which does not have any admixture with salt, which was earlier given to the celestial entities!<\/p>\n<p><strong>adiyEnukku inbAvAy<\/strong> \u2013 For me, who is your servitor and a unique entity of enjoyment for you, you offered me the scope of enjoying <em>brahmAnandham <\/em>(supreme bliss), which is enjoyment in your matter. The word <em>inbu<\/em> refers to the supreme bliss of enjoying <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ellAmum nI AvAy<\/strong> \u2013 this refers to emperumAn granting <em>nithyamukthAnubhavam<\/em> (enjoyment of nithyasUris and mukthars) and <em>ubhayavibhUthi anubhavam<\/em> (enjoyment of both spiritual realm and materialistic realm). Just as <a href=\"http:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/7-19\/\">SrI bhagavath gIthA SlOkam 7.19<\/a> says \u201c<em>vAsudhEvas sarvam<\/em>\u201d (everything is vAsudhEvan) and <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2018\/03\/thiruvaimozhi-6-7-1-unnum-soru\/\">thiruvAimozhi pAsuram 6-7-1<\/a> \u201c<em>uNNum sORu parugu nIr thinnum veRRilaiyum ellAm kaNNan<\/em>\u201d it is emperumAn who is the sustaining, nourishing and enjoying entities for AzhwAr.<\/p>\n<p><strong>pon pAvaik kELvA<\/strong> \u2013 Oh the consort of lakhsmi who is of golden complexion! The implied meaning here is that emperumAn bestowed all the above because of the proximity of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sri-mahalakshmi\/\">mahAlakshmi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>anbAvAy \u2013 pon pAvai kELvA<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> who normally says as in <a href=\"http:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/16-19\/\">SrI bhagavath gIthA 16.19<\/a> \u201c<em>kshipAmi<\/em>\u201d (I push them (into demonic births)) and as in varAha purANam \u201c<em>na kshamAmi<\/em>\u201d (I do not forgive them), and who is hot similar to fire, became the epitome of affection due to connection with mahAlakshmi, just as hot water with cold water. Did not nammAzhwAr too mercifully say in thiruvAimozhi 10-10-7 \u201c<em>kOlamalarpAvaikku anbAgiya en anbEyO<\/em>\u201d (Oh one, who is the love of mahAlakshmi who sits on a beautiful flower,\u00a0 who became affection personified for me!)<\/p>\n<p><strong>AramudhamAvAy\u00a0 &#8211; pon pAvai kELvA<\/strong> \u2013 just as <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\">thirumangai AzhwAr<\/a> says in periya thirumozhi 6-1-2 \u201c<em>amudhil varum peNNamudhu uNda emperumAnE<\/em>\u201d\u00a0 (Oh my emperumAn who took the nectar of woman who came from the nectar of thiruppARkadal!) emperumAn became Aramudhu (complete nectar) after consuming <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sri-mahalakshmi\/\">mahAlakshmi<\/a> who is the epitome of the essence of nectar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>adiyEnukku inbAvAy \u2013 pon pAvai kELvA<\/strong> \u2013 it is her nearness which gives him his own experience. Hasn\u2019t nammAzhwAr too mercifully declared in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/08\/thiruvaimozhi-1-6-9-tharuma-arum\/\">thiruvAimozhi 1-6-9<\/a> \u201c<em>tharuma varum payanAya thirumagaLAr kELvan<\/em>\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> bestows the supreme benefit as the consort of periya pirAttiyAr (SrI mahAlakshmi))!<\/p>\n<p><strong>adiyEnukku inbAvAy \u2013 pon pAvai kELvA<\/strong> \u2013 it won\u2019t appear to be appealing if given by brahmachAri (bachelor) nArAyaNa! The meaning conveyed here is that emperumAn is sweet to <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirumazhisai-azhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> just as he is to periya pirAttiyAr. nammAzhwAr too mercifully mentioned in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2017\/02\/thiruvaimozhi-4-5-8-namakkum\/\">thiruvAimozhi 4-5-8<\/a> \u201c<em>namakkum pUvinmisai nangaikkum inbanai<\/em>\u201d(the entity who is sweet to us and to SrI mahAlakshmi who resides on a flower).<\/p>\n<p><strong>ellAmum nIyAvAy \u2013 pon pAvai kELvA<\/strong> \u2013 AzhwAr implies that emperumAn\u2019s ability to sustain, nurture and to be an enjoyable entity for us is due to her connection. <em>pAvai<\/em> \u2013 the best among women as mentioned in the saying \u201c<em>nArINAm uththamAvadhU:<\/em>\u201d <em>kELvan<\/em> \u2013 one who is sweet to her.<\/p>\n<p><strong>pon pAvai kELvA kiLar oLi<\/strong> \u2013 due to his union with periya pirAtti, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> attained resplendent radiance. vEdhas said \u201c<em>SradhdhayA dhEvO dhEvathvamaSnuthE <\/em>\u201d (due to pirAtti, the supreme entity attains radiance). vAlmIki said in SrI rAmAyaNam \u201c<em>athIva rAma: SuSubhE\u2019dhikAmayA vibhu: SriyA vishNuriva <\/em>\u201d (just as the all-pervading vishNu is manifested by SrIdhEvi, SrI rAma is manifested by pirAtti). <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs<\/a>\u2019 pAsurams also bring out the same meaning, such as in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/06\/thiruppallandu-2-adiyomodum\/\">thiruppallANdu 2<\/a> \u201c<em>vadivAy nin valamArbinil vAzhginRa mangai<\/em>\u201d and thiruvAimozhi 10-6-9\u00a0 \u201c<em>thigazhginRa thirumArbil thirumangai thannOdum thigazhginRa thirumAlAr<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>kiLar oLi en kEsavanE<\/strong> \u2013 attaining radiance from SrI mahAlakshmi and being my Lord. One who has the bunch of locks which she likes and which is mentioned by vEdham as \u201c<em>hiraNya kESa<\/em>\u201d (one with golden coloured locks). <em>kEsavan<strong> \u2013<\/strong><\/em> one who has excellent locks \u2013 the locks which are praised by vEdhas and by those who follow vEdhas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>kEdinRi ALvAykku adiyEn nAn AL<\/strong> \u2013 one who makes me as a servitor without any hurdle for kainkaryam (service) and experience. adiyEn, who is a servitor, has to carry out service. The implied meaning is that you do not have to massage my limbs and carry out service (to me).<\/p>\n<p>Wouldn\u2019t <em>punarukthi<\/em> (the fault of repeating a word) be mentioned for <em>adiyEn<\/em> and <em>AL <\/em>since both refer to the same person (<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirumazhisai-azhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a>)? The word <em>adiyEn<\/em> refers to <em>SEshathvasvarUpam<\/em> (the basic nature of being a servitor) while <em>AL<\/em> refers to being the entity for whom servitorship is the refuge. Hence there is no fault of repetition. Is it required of him to indicate this to the omnisicient emperumAn?
