The reasons for reclining in many places were due to the tiredness of measuring the worlds and for entering the minds of devotees who have a desire for <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>nAgaththaNaik kudandhai vehkAth thiruvevvuL<\/em><br \/>\n<em> nAgaththaNai arangam pEranbil nAgath<\/em><br \/>\n<em> thaNaip pARkadal kidakkum Adhi nedumAl<\/em><br \/>\n<em> aNaippAr karuththan AvAn<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word for Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>nAgaththu aNai \u2013 on top of the mattress of thiruvananthAzhwAn (AdhiSEshan)<br \/>\nkudandhai \u2013 at thirukkudandhai (present day kumbakONam)<br \/>\nvehkA \u2013 at thiruvekka (in kAnchIpuram)<br \/>\nthiru evvuL \u2013 at thiruvevvuLUr (present day thiruvaLLUr)<\/p>\n<p>(in the same way)<br \/>\nnAgaththaNai \u2013 on top of the mattress of thiruvananthAzhwAn<br \/>\narangam \u2013 at thiruvarangam (SrIrangam)<br \/>\npEr \u2013 at thiruppEr (dhivyadhEsam kOviladi, near thiruchchi)<br \/>\nanbil \u2013 at thiruvanbil (near thiruchchi)<\/p>\n<p>(in the same way)<br \/>\nnAgaththu aNai \u2013 atop AdhiSEshan<br \/>\npARkadal \u2013 at thiruppARkadal (milky ocean)<br \/>\nAdhi nedumAl \u2013 sarvESvaran (lord of all) who is the cause for the worlds<br \/>\nkidakkum \u2013 is reclining<\/p>\n<p>(for what purpose?)<br \/>\naNaippAr karuththan AvAn \u2013 in order to enter the hearts of followers<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>nAgaththaNaik kudandhai &#8230;&#8230; nAgaththaNaip pARkadal kidakkum<\/strong> \u2013 sarvESvaran is reclining in the dhivyadhEsams of thirukkudandhai, <a href=\"http:\/\/thiruvekka.koyil.org\">thiruvehkA<\/a>, thiruvevvuLUr, thiruvarangam, thiruppEr, thiruvanbil and thiruppARkadal, at close proximity to his followers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>aNaippAr karuththanAvAn kidakkum<\/strong> \u2013 he is reclining in all these divine abodes in order to enter the hearts of those followers who say \u201cwe will embrace you in our hearts\u201d instead of saying \u201cwe will not allow you to enter our hearts\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>What is the reason for his waiting to enter the hearts of his followers at the appropriate time?<\/p>\n<p><strong>AdhinedumAl<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirumazhisai-azhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says that it is because he is like a mother to all creations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adhi<\/strong> \u2013 he is the cause for the universe, just like a mother is the cause for a child.
