He says that he removes our hurdles and gets rid of samsAram (life in this materialistic world).<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>imam sUzh malaiyum iru visumbum kARRum<\/em><br \/>\n<em> amam sUzhndhaRa viLangiththOnRum namam sUzh<\/em><br \/>\n<em> naragaththu nammai naNugAmal kAppAn<\/em><br \/>\n<em> thuragaththai vAy piLandhAn thottu<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>imam sUzh malaiyum \u2013 the himAlaya mountain which is covered with snow<br \/>\niru visumbum \u2013 the expansive sky<br \/>\nkARRum \u2013 vAyu (wind)<br \/>\namam sUzhndhu \u2013 (due to robust build, height and speed) lowering and pervading<br \/>\naRa viLangith thOnRum \u2013 coming in front, clearly<br \/>\nthuragaththai \u2013 the demon kESi who came in the form of a horse<br \/>\nthottu \u2013 touching him (with his divine hands)<br \/>\nvAy piLandhAn \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> who tore (his) mouth<br \/>\nnammai \u2013 us<br \/>\nnaman sUzh naragaththu naNugAmal kAppAn \u2013 he will protect us from entering\u00a0 hell which has yama as its Lord.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyanam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>imam sUzh malaiyum<\/strong> \u2013 in the (himAlaya) mountain covered with snow<\/p>\n<p><strong>iru visumbum<\/strong> \u2013 in the expansive sky<\/p>\n<p><strong>kARRum<\/strong> \u2013 in the wind<\/p>\n<p><strong>amam sUzhndhu<\/strong> \u2013 permeating in a widespread way<\/p>\n<p><strong>aRa viLangith thOnRum<\/strong> \u2013 permeating all these, due to his incarnations, the radiant <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> too has mercifully stated in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/06\/thiruvaimozhi-1-3-2-elivarum-iyalvinan\/\">thiruvAimozhi 1-3-2<\/a> \u201c<em>pala piRappAy oLi varu muzhu nalam<\/em>\u201d that emperumAn gains radiance due to his several incarnations. By mentioning mountain, sky, wind etc, emperumAn\u2019s <em>jagathAkAratha<\/em> (having the entire world as his physical form) has been indicated. Alternatively, if these words are taken as adjectives for the horse kESi, a form taken by a demon, we can construe the meanings as \u2013 the horse which came with these characteristics<\/p>\n<p><strong>vAy piLandhAN thottu<\/strong> \u2013 since kESi is an enemy for his followers, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> due to that rage, with his own hands, caught him, tore his mouth and killed him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>naman sUzh naragaththu<\/strong> \u2013 in the naragam (hell) which is surrounded by yama. We can consider the meaning for this as \u2013 the hell that we have surrounded ourselves with. Or, we can consider this as \u2013 this world (materialistic realm itself is hell) which is under the control of yama.<\/p>\n<p><strong>nammai naNugAmal kAppAn<\/strong> \u2013 he will protect us from approaching hell.
