He says that just as one cannot see a limit to his characteristics, one cannot see the limit for his narratives too.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>maNNuNdum pEychchi mulaiuNdum ARRAdhAy<\/em><br \/>\n<em> veNNey vizhunga veguNdu Aychchi kaNNik<\/em><br \/>\n<em> kayiRRinAl kattath thAn kattuNdirundhAn<\/em><br \/>\n<em> vayiRRinOdARRA magan<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>vayiRRinOdARRA magan \u2013 the child (kaNNan; krishNa) who cannot keep quiet with his stomach<br \/>\nmaN uNdu \u2013 swallowing all the worlds<br \/>\npEychchi \u2013 the demon pUthanA\u2019s<br \/>\nmulai \u2013 (poisoned) bosom<br \/>\nuNdum \u2013 drinking that<br \/>\nARRAdhAy \u2013 not being satisfied<br \/>\nveNNey \u2013 butter<br \/>\nvizhunga \u2013 as he swallowed<br \/>\nAychchi \u2013 yaSOdhAp pirAtti<br \/>\nveguNdu \u2013 getting angry<br \/>\nkaNNi kayiRRinAl \u2013 with a rope having many knots<br \/>\nkatta \u2013 tying securely<br \/>\nthAn \u2013 he, the omnipotent supreme being<br \/>\nkattuNdu irundhAn \u2013 remained tied (instead of trying a way to get out of it)<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyanam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>maN uNdum pEychchi mulai uNdum<\/strong> \u2013 eating generally, the world and lives of enemies. He did not get satisfied until he ate things which were touched by his favourable ones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>maN uNdum pEychchi mulai uNdum ARRAdhAy<\/strong> \u2013 when deluge came to take away everything, he kept all the worlds inside his stomach to protect them. On top of that, as if he were going to drink milk from the demon pUthanA\u2019s bosom, he drank her life too along with milk. Not being satisfied with eating these,<\/p>\n<p><strong>venney vizhunga<\/strong> \u2013 in order to get rid of all the faults that he had, he stole butter and ate it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>veguNdu Aychchi<\/strong> \u2013 Once the butter was stolen, yaSOdhAp pirAtti, looking at the fear in kaNNan\u2019s face, concluded that only he had eaten the butter and was furious (she was furious because if he ate so much of butter it would do harm to his physical form). She had as much anger towards kaNNan as she had affection for him. yaSOdhA had as much enthusiasm in protecting kaNNan as he had in stealing butter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>veNNey vizhunga<\/strong> \u2013 his acts of eating the worlds etc were to remove the concern of those entities while his eating butter was to remove his concern (he could not sustain himself without eating butter). Just as <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u2019s stomach is for the worlds, so is emperumAn\u2019s stomach for butter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>kaNNik kayiRRinAl kattath thAn kattuNdirundhAn<\/strong> \u2013 while yaSOdhA had tied him with a rope which had many knots, he remained tied as if he could not liberate himself from that.<\/p>\n<p><strong>kattuNdu<\/strong> \u2013 one who controls everyone, one who is the reason for binding everyone to samsAram (materialistic realm),\u00a0 stabilising them in samsAram and releasing them, was tied by a woman and stood being unable to untie himself and leave. One who binds everyone through his <em>sankalpa<\/em> (vow \/ will) stood bound. Other <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs<\/a> too have enjoyed this narrative, as in periya thirumozhi 8-3-5 \u201c<em>thAyeduththa siRukOlukku uLaindhOdi<\/em>\u201d, <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2017\/09\/thiruvaimozhi-5-10-3-peyyum-punguzhal\/\">thiruvAimozhi 5-10-3<\/a> \u201c<em>neyyuN vArththaiyuL annai kOl koLLa nIyun thAmaraikkaNgaL nIr malgap paiyavE nilaiyum<\/em>\u201d, perumAL thirumozhi 7-8 \u201c<em>muzhudhum veNNey aLaindhu thottuNNum mugizhiLam siRuththAmaraik kaiyum &#8230;<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vayiRRinOdu ARRA magan<\/strong> \u2013 he could not keep quiet with his stomach. He could tolerate hunger only if he grew beyond adolescence. Since he was a little child, and could not tolerate his hunger, he stole butter and ate. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/pillai-urangavilli-dhasar\/\">piLLai uRangA villi dhAsar<\/a> (one of the disciples of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/emperumanar\/\">bhagavath SrI rAmAnujar<\/a>), on hearing this pAsuram, said \u201ccould she not tear off his stomach and give it to the washerman?\u201d.
