He says that his heart, without waiting for instructions, meditating on the quality of emperumAn by which he annihilates enemies, won over his [AzhwAr\u2019s] five senses, got rid of attachment towards worldly matters and tries to meditate on emperumAn.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>ninRedhirAya niraimaNiththEr vANan thOL<\/em><br \/>\n<em> onRiya IraingyURudan thuNiya venRilangum<\/em><br \/>\n<em> ArpaduvAn nEmi aravaNaiyAn sEvadikkE<\/em><br \/>\n<em> nErpaduvAn\u00a0 thAn muyalum nenju<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>ninRu \u2013 standing in front (without any shame)<br \/>\nedhir Aya \u2013 one who fought as an enemy<br \/>\nnirai maNi thEr \u2013 one who came riding on a chariot which had gemstones studded properly<br \/>\nvANan onRiya IraigygyURu thOL \u2013 the thousand shoulders of the demon bANa<br \/>\nudan \u2013 simultaneously<br \/>\nthuNiya \u2013 ensuring that they [1000 shoulders] got severed<br \/>\nvenRu \u2013 becoming victorious<br \/>\nilangum \u2013 (on account of that victory) being radiant<br \/>\nArpadu \u2013 having sharpness<br \/>\nvAn \u2013 being strong<br \/>\nnEmi \u2013 having the divine disc<br \/>\naravu aNaiyAn \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> who reclines on AdhiSEshan<br \/>\nsE adikkE \u2013 at the reddish divine feet<br \/>\nnErpaduvAN \u2013 to approach<br \/>\nnenju \u2013 (my) heart<br \/>\nthAn \u2013 on its own<br \/>\nmuyalum \u2013 will attempt<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyanam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>ninRu edhirAya<\/strong> \u2013 one who came as an enemy and stood. Since the demon bANAsuran had attained the thAmasa (ignorant) deity Siva as his protector, not knowing that kaNNan is the supreme being, he came to fight him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>nirai maNith thEr vANan<\/strong> \u2013 the demon came on a chariot which was studded with rows of gemstones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>thOL onRiya IraingyURu udan thuNiya<\/strong> \u2013 ensuring that all the 1000 shoulders got severed simultaneously. It is implied here that the 1000 shoulders were not equal to even one shoulder. The 1000 shoulders appeared to be similar to a tree which has one root and many branches.<\/p>\n<p><strong>udan thuNiya<\/strong> \u2013 severing them such that all 1000 shoulders fell at the same time.
