For us, involvement with emperumAn is something that we have to create in ourselves with effort. For AzhwAr, due to the knowledge that he had been showered with (by emperumAn) and the deep affection on emperumAn, these become the reasons for bewilderment.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>nalamE validhu kol nanju Uttu van pEy<\/em><br \/>\n<em> nilamE puraNdu pOy vIzha salamEdhAn<\/em><br \/>\n<em> vengongai uNdAnai mIttAychchi UttuvAn<\/em><br \/>\n<em> thangongai vAy vaiththAL sArndhu<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>salamE \u2013 with deceitfulness<br \/>\nnanju \u2013 poison<br \/>\nUttu \u2013 having come to feed<br \/>\nvan pEy \u2013 the cruel demon pUthanA<br \/>\nnilamE \u2013 on earth<br \/>\npuraNdu pOy vIzha \u2013 to fall down (as a corpse)<br \/>\nthAn salamE \u2013 he [<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>] also, with deceit<br \/>\nvem kongai \u2013 the bosom which was cruel<br \/>\nuNdAnai \u2013 kaNNan (krishNa) who suckled it<br \/>\nmIttu \u2013 drawing him away (from that pUthanA)<br \/>\nUttuvAn \u2013 in order to feed him (her milk)<br \/>\nsArndhu \u2013 approaching him<br \/>\nthan kongai \u2013 her bosom<br \/>\nvAy vaiththAL \u2013 kept it in his mouth for him to feed<br \/>\nnalamE validhu kol \u2013 it appears that this affection is very strong<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyanam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>nalamE validhu kol<\/strong> \u2013 Isn\u2019t affection stronger than knowledge! For yaSOdhA, affection towards kaNNan (krishNa) was stronger than fear which is natural for a woman.<\/p>\n<p><strong>salamE thAn nanju Uttu van pEy nilamE puraNdu pOy vIzha <\/strong>\u2013 making pUthaNa, who has a strong heart and who came in a deceitful form of a mother to give poisoned milk to kaNNa, to fall on the earth<\/p>\n<p><strong>vengongai uNdAnai<\/strong> \u2013 one who suckled the cruel bosom (of pUthanA)<\/p>\n<p><strong>mIttu Aychchi UttuvAn<\/strong> \u2013 to redeem kaNNan from pUthanA and as a remedy for that, to make him drink milk from her bosom<\/p>\n<p><strong>UttuvAn<\/strong> \u2013 in order to feed him<\/p>\n<p><strong>sArndhu than kongai vAy vaiththAL<\/strong> \u2013 as a remedy for the poisoned milk which he drank, yaSOdhA pirAtti offered him her nectar-like milk. As soon as she heard that he has taken milk from pUthanA\u2019s bosom, instead of falling down unconsciously due to fear, she walked all the way to where pUthanA lay on the ground [with krishNa on her bosom] and offered her bosom to him (If yaSOdhA\u2019s knowledge had gained primacy, she would have swooned out of fear. However, since affection towards krishNa was in the forefront, instead of swooning, she offered her bosom to krishNa).
