One can enjoy him at thirumalai itself.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>pArththa kaduvan sunai nIr nizhal kaNdu<\/em><br \/>\n<em> pErththOr kaduvan enap pErndhu kArththa<\/em><br \/>\n<em> kaLanganikkuk kai nIttum vEngadamE mEnAL<\/em><br \/>\n<em> viLanganikkuk kanRerindhAn veRpu<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>sunai nIr \u2013 in the waters of reservoir at thirumalai<br \/>\npArththa \u2013 looking down<br \/>\nkaduvan \u2013 male monkey<br \/>\nnizhal kaNdu \u2013 looking at its shadow reflected in the water<br \/>\npErththu Or kaduvan ena \u2013 confusing it for another (inimical) monkey<br \/>\npErndhu \u2013 starting to leave that place out of fear<\/p>\n<p>(again due to fickle mindedness)<br \/>\nkArththa kalanganikkuk kai nIttum \u2013 stretching out its hand in order to get a kaLA (Carissa) fruit<br \/>\nvEngadamE \u2013 the thirumalai hills<br \/>\nmEl nAL \u2013 once upon a time<br \/>\nviLanganikku \u2013 in order to obtain wood apple fruit (inside which a demon had pervaded)<br \/>\nkanRu erindhAn \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> who threw a calf, as a throwing stick, in order to fell the wood apple<br \/>\nveRpu \u2013 divine hill<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyanam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>pArththa kaduvan sunai nIr nizhal kaNdu<\/strong> \u2013 the male monkey, looking at its shadow in the waters of the reservoir, not realising that it is its shadow<\/p>\n<p><strong>pErththu Or kaduvan enap pErndhu<\/strong> \u2013 mistakes it for another monkey. Not knowing that it is its own shadow, the monkey thinks that it is an inimical monkey. Thinking that it is another monkey and another carissa fruit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>kArththa kaLanganikku kai nIttum<\/strong> \u2013 it will stretch out its hand for the black coloured Carissa fruit. A monkey is sitting atop a Carissa tree on the banks of the reservoir. It looks at the water and sees a monkey and a Carissa tree. Mistaking these for real ones, out of desire, it stretches its hand for getting the Carissa fruit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>kArththa kaLangani<\/strong> \u2013 this implies that the black Carissa fruit is contrasting with the reddish hand of the monkey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vEngadamE<\/strong> \u2013 such a divine hill of thiruvEngadam!<\/p>\n<p><strong>mEnAL viLankanikkuk kanRu eRindhAn veRpu<\/strong> \u2013 it is the mountain of the one who, once upon the time, threw a calf as a throwing stick, for getting wood apple fruit. Wasn\u2019t his (<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u2019s) ignorance similar to that of the monkey! The monkey, without realising that it is a shadow, desired for Carissa fruit which it saw in the waters. Didn\u2019t kaNNan (krishNa) too try to obtain a wood apple fruit by throwing something (a calf) not realising that a demon had pervaded it.
