AzhwAr is present in archai thirumEni in many <a href=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\">dhivya dhEsasms<\/a>. So AzhwAr is parakAlan.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>vAzhi kali kanRi \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>pallANdu to AzhwAr known as kali kanRi (one who can rid of illness of kali yuga).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>kuRaiyalUr vAzh vEndhan vAzhi &#8211;<\/em> <\/strong>pallANdu to the king of, the one who was born in, and the one who protected, the place of thiruk kuRaiyalUr.<\/p>\n<p>Now emperumAnAr sings pallANdu to both AzhwAr and his spear by saying<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>mAyOnai vAL valiyAl mandhiram koL mangaiyar kOn thUyOn sudarmAna vEl<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>mAyOnai<\/strong> \u2013 AzhwAr got the thirumanthram by threatening emperumAn using the strength of his sword, the \u2018mAyon\u2019 who is in thiruvarangam (srIrangam) lying on the Adhi sEshan.<\/p>\n<p>As it says \u2018mAyOn\u2019 in \u201c<em>kadi arangathu aravANaiyil paLLi koLLum <\/em><strong><em>mAyonai<\/em>\u201d<\/strong> [perumAL thirumozhi 1-2], and as it says \u201c<em>vAzhi suzhi poriththa nIr ponnith then arangan thannai vazhi pariththa vALan vali<\/em>\u201d, it was arangan from whom AzhwAr got thirumanthram using the strength of his sword.<\/p>\n<p>AzhwAr stole thirumanthram from the mAyOn who steals all the belongings of those devotees that love Him!! (<em>kai poruLgaL munnamE kaikkoNdAr kAviri nIr sei puraLa Odum thiruvarangach chelvanAr<\/em>\u2019 [nAchchiyAr thirumozhi 11-6])<\/p>\n<p>AzhvAr got thirumanthram from the emperumAn who is mandhiram (manthram), like it is said in \u2018<em>andhaNar mAttu andhi vaiththa <strong>mandhiram<\/strong><\/em>\u2019 [thirunedunthANdakam 4].<\/p>\n<p><strong>mangaiyar kOn \u2013 <\/strong>AzhwAr is king of thirumangai, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n<p><strong>thUyOn \u2013 <\/strong>AzhwAr is having both inner and outer purity.<\/p>\n<p>ananyArha sEshathvam (no subservience to anyone else), ananya saranathvam (not using anything other than emperumAn as the means to attain Him), ananya bhOgyathvam (not considering anything other than emperumAn as enjoyable) are some of the inner purities of AzhwAr.<\/p>\n<p>Having undergone pancha samskAram, etc., are part of his outer purity.<\/p>\n<p>AzhwAr also gave all of his names in one pAsuram, and those names also show us his inner and outer purity: <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">angamalath thada vayal sUzh Ali nAdan, aruL mAri, arattamukki, adaiyAr seeyam kongu malar kuzhaliyar vEL mangai vEndhan, kORRavEl parakAlan, kaliyan<\/span><\/em> <strong>[<\/strong>periya thirumozhi 3-4-10<strong>]<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>sudar mAna vEl <em>\u2013 <\/em><\/strong><em>big <\/em>spear that is made of brightness; well qualified to be held by thirumangai mannan who is bright and great.<\/p>\n<p><strong>thUyOn vEl vAzhiyarO \u2013 <\/strong>thaniyan says that like AzhwAr his spear is also worthy of being sung pallaNdu. Didn\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/12\/16\/andal\/\">ANdAL<\/a> also sing in <a title=\"thiruppAvai \u2013 24 \u2013 anRu ivvulagam\" href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/?p=769\">thiruppAvai [24]<\/a>, \u2018<em>nin kaiyil vEl pORRi<\/em>\u2019? When singing pallANdu to kaNNan, they too sang pallANdu to his spear also.
