He says that when the danger crosses limits, doesn\u2019t he protect everyone by keeping everyone inside him! Aren\u2019t the worlds existing merely by his <em>sankalpam<\/em> (will)!<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>sinamA madhakaLiRRin thiN maruppaich chAyththu<\/em><br \/>\n<em> punamEya bhUmi adhanai dhanamAgap<\/em><br \/>\n<em> pEragalaththuLLodukkum pErAra mArvanAr<\/em><br \/>\n<em> OragalathuL uLLadhu ulagu<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>sinam mA madha \u2013 being angry and having huge exultation<br \/>\nkaLiRRin \u2013 the elephant (kuvalayApIdam)<br \/>\nthiN maruppai \u2013 its strong tusks<br \/>\nsAyththu \u2013 one who broke it<br \/>\npunam mEya \u2013 being together with arable land<br \/>\nbhUmi adhanai \u2013 the earth<br \/>\ndhanam Aga \u2013 considering it as a gift<br \/>\npEr agalaththuL odukkum \u2013 one who protected by keeping in his expansive stomach<br \/>\npEr Aram mArvanAr \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, who has donned huge chains on his chest, his<br \/>\nOr agalaththu \u2013 in a part of his knowledge, which is in <em>sankalparUpam<\/em> (in the form of his will or solemn vow)<br \/>\nulagu uLLadhu \u2013 all the worlds are existing<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyanam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>sina mA madha kaLiRRin thiN maruppaich chAyththu<\/strong> \u2013 breaking the tusks of the elephant kuvalayApIdam which was angry, huge, in exultation and not knowing what is going on around it; snatching it effortlessly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>punamEya bhUmi adhanai<\/strong> \u2013 the earth which has arable land, which could be enjoyed by the sentient entities [by cultivating]<\/p>\n<p><strong>dhanamAga<\/strong> \u2013 considering it as a wealth<\/p>\n<p><strong>bhUmiyadhanaith thanamAga<\/strong> \u2013 did he not protect earth which has forests and streams [implying ups and downs or in other words, rough terrain] as a great wealth!<\/p>\n<p><strong>pEragalaththu uL odukkum<\/strong> \u2013 one who has the ability to protect it inside his stomach which [stomach] is so huge that even after keeping these worlds inside his stomach, it could be said that there was still a lot of space.<\/p>\n<p><strong>pEr Ara mArvanAr<\/strong> \u2013 even when he swallows all the worlds, he does it so capably that his decorations do not get disturbed. His qualities are also equally beautiful. It is implied here that even as he protected the worlds which were his possessions, it appeared that he had decked himself up with ornaments out of that happiness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Or agalaththuL uLLadhu ulagu<\/strong> \u2013 the worlds are in his incomparable, immeasurable <em>sankalpa<\/em> (will \/ thought). We can also construe that the worlds are in the memory of his knowledge which is in the form of his will.
