The divine abodes mentioned in the previous pAsuram still remain in his heart and continue.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>ivai avan kOyil iraNiyadhu Agam<\/em><br \/>\n<em> avai seydhu ari uruvum AnAn sevi theriyA<\/em><br \/>\n<em> nAgaththAn nAl vEdhaththuLLAn naRavERRAn<\/em><br \/>\n<em> pAgaththAn pARkadaluLAn<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>iraNiyanadhu \u2013 the demon hiraNya kashyap\u2019s<br \/>\nAgam \u2013 chest<br \/>\navai seydhu \u2013 to break it into many pieces<br \/>\nari uruvam AnAn \u2013 one who incarnated as narasimha<br \/>\nsevi theriyA nAgaththAn \u2013 having as his mattress thiruvananthAzhwAn who does not have separate ears as his eyes serve the purpose of both eyes and ears<br \/>\nnAl vEdhaththu uLLAn \u2013 one who resides inside the four vEdhas (sacred texts)<br \/>\nnaRavu ERRAn pAgaththAn \u2013 one who has in one part of divine form, rudhra, who has honey-like gangA in his body (alternatively, one who has in one part of divine form, rudhra, who has liquor in his hand)<br \/>\npARkadaluLAn \u2013 one who is reclining on thiruppARkadal<br \/>\navan \u2013 that <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u2019s<br \/>\nkOyil ivai \u2013 divine abodes are these which were mentioned in the previous pAsuram<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyanam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>ivai avan kOyil<\/strong>&#8211; the divine abodes mentioned in the previous pAsuram are his places of dwelling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>iraNiyadhu Agam<\/strong> \u2013 the body of the ill-tempered hiraNya kashyap<\/p>\n<p><strong>avai seydhu ari uruvum AnAn<\/strong> \u2013 Just as mentioned in SrI rAmAyaNam yudhdha kANdam 94-82 \u201c<em>chinnam bhinnam<\/em>\u201d (cut and split), <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> took the form of narasimha to split iraNiyan\u2019s heart into many parts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Agam avai seydhu<\/strong> \u2013 splitting the chest. He split one into two. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/peyazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says that the purpose of emperumAn taking residence in many different abodes is to destroy enemies [of his followers].<\/p>\n<p><strong>sevi theriyA nAgaththAn<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> has his mattress thiruvananthAzhwAn (AdhiSEshan) who carries out the activities of his ears through his eyes. Aren\u2019t snakes referred to as \u201c<em>chakshu: Srava:<\/em>\u201d (in thamizh, <em>katsevi<\/em>, having eyes as ears)! Has it not been mercifully mentioned in thiruvAimozhi 9-9-9 \u201c<em>thUdhu sey kaNgaL koNdonRu pEsi<\/em>\u201d (speak with the help of eyes and carry out a message) by which the function of one sensory organ has been appropriated by another!<\/p>\n<p><strong>nAl vEdhaththuLLAn<\/strong> \u2013 emperumAn has been identified by the four vEdhas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>naRavERRAn pAgaththAn<\/strong> \u2013 <em>naRavu<\/em> refers to the lowly arrack. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> has the characteristic of giving a portion of his divine form to accommodate Sivan who carries lowly arrack in his hand. This refers to his quality of Seelam (simplicity). <em>naRavu<\/em> could also be considered as referring to sweetness [like honey].
