AzhwAr tells his mind \u201cif you approach <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> and attain him, no shortcoming will come your way\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>thozhudhAl pazhudhuNdE thUnIr ulagam<\/em><br \/>\n<em> muzhudhuNda moykuzhalAL Aychchi vizhudhuNda<\/em><br \/>\n<em> vAyAnai mAlvidaiyEzh seRRAnai vAnavarkkum<\/em><br \/>\n<em> sEyAnai nenjE siRandhu<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>thU niR ulagam \u2013 world surrounded by oceans with pure water<br \/>\nmuzhudhu \u2013 totally<br \/>\nuNdu \u2013 one who kept in his divine stomach<br \/>\nmoy kuzhalAL Aychchi \u2013 yaSOdhA, who has dense locks<br \/>\nvizhudhu \u2013 butter<br \/>\nuNda vAyAnai \u2013 one who has the mouth which ate<br \/>\nmAl vidai Ezh seRRAnai \u2013 one who killed the seven plump bulls<br \/>\nvAnavarkkum sEyAnai \u2013 one who is out of reach of celestial entities such as brahmA et al, such <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a><br \/>\nnenjE \u2013 Oh heart!<br \/>\nsiRandhu \u2013 in a great way<br \/>\nthozhudhAl \u2013 if you worship<br \/>\npazhudhu uNdE \u2013 will there be any fault?<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyanam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>thozhudhAl pazhudhu uNdE<\/strong> \u2013 if you attain <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> will any fault come your way? If you do not attain him, what calamity will befall you? After telling his heart about the greatness of worshipping emperumAn, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/peyazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> is asking his heart whether there is any harm in it. He tells his heart to tell him if there is anything wrong in what he is saying. AzhwAr is asking his heart \u201cJust as emperumAn\u2019s stomach became the sustenance for the world and butter became the sustenance for emperumAn, isn\u2019t servitorship the sustenance for you?\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>thU nIr ulagam muzhudhu uNdu<\/strong> \u2013 Am I asking you to drink the bitter juice of neem fruit? Am I not asking you to attain the sweet <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p><strong>thU nIr ulagam muzhudhu uNdu<\/strong> \u2013 there is none who is considered as unwanted by emperumAn. Even after keeping the worlds in his stomach during deluge, he was not satisfied.<\/p>\n<p><strong>thU nIr ulagam<\/strong> \u2013 world having clear water. In other words, when emperumAn kept the world in his stomach, he ensured that the waters surrounding the earth did not get muddied. Since he was not satisfied even after swallowing the world, he ate the butter which had the fingerprints of his followers. He filled up the void created after swallowing the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>moy kuzhalAL Aychchi vizhudhuNda vAyAnai<\/strong> \u2013 only after eating the butter kept by yaSOdhAp pirAtti was his stomach filled up. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, who controls the entire worlds, was subservient to yaSOdhA. It appeared to emperumAn that when he did not eat butter, deluge had set in. He cannot sustain himself if he does not eat his followers\u2019 possessions (emperumAn has the divine mouth which ate butter kept by yaSOdhA who has beautiful locks).<\/p>\n<p><strong>mAl vidai Ezh seRRAnai<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> who killed the seven fearsome bulls. One who killed the seven bulls which were in exult, and which were a hurdle for him to be with nappinnaip pirAtti [incarnation of nILA dhEvi]. This implies that he removes the hurdles of followers who are special to him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vAnavarkkum sEyAnai<\/strong> \u2013 one who is far away from entities such as brahmA et al. This implies that he is far removed from those who try to attain him through their own efforts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>siRandhu thozhudhAl pazhudhuNdE<\/strong> \u2013 is there any fault in worshipping one who is simple to this followers?<\/p>\n<p><strong>siRandhu<\/strong> \u2013 if you [<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/peyazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a>\u2019s heart] make yourself qualified and worship him, is there any harm? After knowing the characteristics of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, you are wondering whether you are qualified to worship him; you are not above entities such as brahmA et al!
