He prays to emperumAn that he should not get the fear of thinking about worldly life which is the exact opposite of the former [carrying out service to emperumAn\u2019s divine feet]. He tells emperumAn to grace him by accepting him as his possession since emperumAn does not let go of any of his possessions. Is there any benefit for thinking of emperumAn forever without forgetting? <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/peyazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> tells emperumAn that he should tell him \u201cDo not fear!\u201d and grace him.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>vAy mozhindhu vAmananAy mAvalipAl mUvadimaN<\/em><br \/>\n<em> nIyaLandhu koNda nedumAlE thAviya nin<\/em><br \/>\n<em> enjA iNaiyadikkE Ezh piRappum ALAgi<\/em><br \/>\n<em> anjAdhirukka aruL<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>vAmanan Ay \u2013 in the form of vAmana [one of the incarnations of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>]<br \/>\nmAvali pAl \u2013 with mAhabali (going to him)<br \/>\nvAy mozhindhu \u2013 speaking a few words (like a child)<br \/>\nmUvadimaN \u2013 land with three steps (taking as alms)<br \/>\naLandhu koNda \u2013 measuring that<br \/>\nnedumAlE \u2013 Oh supreme being!<br \/>\nenjA \u2013 without any shortage (in beauty)<br \/>\nthAviya \u2013 the act of measuring the world<br \/>\nnin iNai adikkE \u2013 for your two divine feet<br \/>\nEzh piRappum \u2013 in all births<br \/>\nAL Agi \u2013 being a servitor<br \/>\nanjAdhu irukka \u2013 to be without any fear<br \/>\nnI aruL \u2013 you should grace<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyanam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>vAmananAy vAy mozhindhu<\/strong> \u2013 mercifully asking for land mass of three steps, as vAmana. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> went to the court of king mahAbali and in his gibberish language [as a child], making even mahAbali to be compassionate and not to refuse, played out an act.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vAy mozhindhu<\/strong> \u2013 emperumAn spoke a few words which were not consistent, such as mentioned in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/10\/thiruvaimozhi-3-8-9-kolvan-nan\/\">thiruvAimozhi 3-8-9<\/a> \u201c<em>koLvan nAn mAvali mUvadi thA<\/em>\u201d (Oh mahAbali! I will accept; give me land of three steps) [it is mentioned here as inconsistent since vAmana was a poor brAhmana and mahAbali was a great king and instead of requesting humbly, he was ordering the king to give him what he was asking for]. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> who is mentioned of as not speaking to anybody and is indifferent, as in chAndhOgya upanishath 3-14-2 \u201c<em>avAkyanAdhara:<\/em>\u201d speaks such words to mahAbali!<\/p>\n<p><strong>vAmananAy<\/strong> \u2013 even if his characteristics have to change, should the form also change? [vAmana means being a dwarf]<\/p>\n<p><strong>mAvalipAl mUvadimaN aLandhu koNda nedumAlE<\/strong> \u2013 Oh <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>! You measured three steps of land after accepting as alms from mahAbali. Did you measure something which did not belong to you? (were\u00a0 they not your own worlds which you had asked for as alms from mahAbali and measured!)<\/p>\n<p><strong>thAviya<\/strong> \u2013 measuring effortlessly<\/p>\n<p><strong>nin enjA iNai adikkE<\/strong> \u2013 at your auspicious divine feet which measured the divine worlds<\/p>\n<p><strong>nin enjA iNai adi<\/strong> \u2013 beautiful divine feet without any creases. Or, very broad divine feet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ezh piRappum ALAgi<\/strong> \u2013 carrying out service at all times<\/p>\n<p><strong>anjAdhirukka aruL<\/strong> \u2013 you should mercifully shower your grace on me such that I am able to carry out such service without any hurdle and without any fear. You should grace me saying \u201cWill I let go of my possession? Once I have redeemed you, my possession, I will not let go of you. Do not fear\u201d. You should say \u201cI will not leave your protection with you; I will not leave your protection with someone else too\u201d. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/peyazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> tells <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> to mercifully shower his grace on him just as he carried out the task which indhra wanted. Is it possible to remain without any fear? Does not one, who has the antidote for poison, put out his hand into the mouth of a snake without fear!
