Now, thinking of the union of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sri-mahalakshmi\/\">pirAtti<\/a>, he feels ashamed and says \u201cam I attempting to sing about them! What a courageous act did I try to enact!\u201d feeling repentence. Earlier, since he spoke about emperumAn who is greater than everyone else, he asked whether there is anyone who is equal to him. But since he has now seen emperumAn along with pirAtti, he says that he has not said anything appropriate to their greatness. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> too has mercifully mentioned in his <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/07\/thiruvaimozhi-3-1-6-odhuvar-oththellam\/\">thiruvAimozhi 3-1-6<\/a> \u201c<em>pUvinmEl mAdhuvAzh mArvinAy ensolli yAn vAzhththuvanE<\/em>\u201d (Oh one who has SrImahAlakshmi, who stays on a lotus flower, residing in your chest! How can I praise you?). He feels ashamed that he attempted to sing about emperumAn after seeing his greatness. Now it appears to him that what he did earlier (in pAsuram 74) and his desire to obtain benefit from <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> are inappropriate.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>kuRaiyAga venjoRkaL kURinEn kURi<\/em><br \/>\n<em> maRaiyAngena uraiththa mAlai iRaiyEnum<\/em><br \/>\n<em> eeyungolenRE irundhEn enaippagalum<\/em><br \/>\n<em> mAyan kaN senRa varam<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meaning<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>maRai \u2013 vEdhas (sacred texts)<br \/>\nAngu ena uraiththa mAlai \u2013 stating that <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> is like that (instead of like this)<\/p>\n<p>(I, with low level of intelligence)<br \/>\nkuRai Aga \u2013 having faults<br \/>\nvem soRkaL \u2013 with words which singe the eardrum<br \/>\nkURinEn \u2013 I spoke<br \/>\nkURi \u2013 apart from speaking (like that)<br \/>\nmAyan kaN senRa varam \u2013 with the mercy which is present in him<br \/>\niRaiyEnum \u2013 at least a little bit<br \/>\neeyum kol enRE \u2013 will give me (expecting the benefit)<br \/>\nenaip pagalum \u2013 for a long time<br \/>\nirundhEn \u2013 I am waiting<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>kuRaiyAga venjoRkaL kURinEn kURi<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says that these are the wrong actions that he had done: I spoke in such a way that there will be faults. I spoke harsh words. I spoke about <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> who is full in everything, with belittling words. On top of that, I spoke in such a cruel way that the ears of those who listened to those words would turn red.<\/p>\n<p><strong>kuRaiyAga<\/strong> \u2013 If a person sees an ocean, can he estimate its depth or the length of its shore? Looking at the greatness of emperumAn and his own lowliness, it appears to <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> that his words were belittling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vem soRkaL<\/strong> \u2013 I spoke in such a way that <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u2019s divine mind would have felt hurt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>kURinEn<\/strong> \u2013 I spoke about something which I couldn\u2019t have seen. I spoke of a matter which cannot be estimated, in a way which was limiting it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>kURi<\/strong> \u2013 not only doing the above. With the knowledge that I had, I did not even repent for my act. I felt that the act that I had undertaken was correct.<\/p>\n<p><strong>maRai Angu ena uRaiththa mAlai<\/strong> &#8211; \u00a0If the person who was spoken about by me were one who could be forgotten, all that I had done would have been without any fault. But emperumAn, who was spoken about me, is such that whatever he utters becomes vEdha. He is such a supreme lord. muNdaka upanishath 2-1-4 says of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> \u201c<em>vAgvivruthAScha vEdhA:<\/em>\u201d (whatever was uttered by him became vEdha); he is superior to everyone else. Alternatively, vEdhas which came to explain the true meanings would define him such that he cannot be estimated; he has such greatness. We can construe this as vEdhas saying that he is <em>Angu<\/em> meaning he is \u201clike that\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>iRaiyEnum eeungol enRE irundhEn<\/strong> \u2013 even though none of whatever I had composed on him deserved any present (gift), I waited in anticipation as to whether emperumAn would give some present for it. Not only did I say something with fault, but I was waiting for being complimented for it!<\/p>\n<p><strong>enaip pagalum<\/strong> \u2013 for a very long time<\/p>\n<p><strong>mAyankaN senRa varam<\/strong> \u2013 the grace which was present in that wondrous <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>iRaiyEnum eeyungol enRE irundhEn<\/strong> \u2013 after seeing the way he was giving gifts to those who sang about him earlier, I was also expectantly waiting whether he would not gift me anything.<\/p>\n<p>Will this <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> sing a hymn for getting a benefit?
