Just as <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> mercifully spoke in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2017\/02\/thiruvaimozhi-4-5-9-vanaththum\/\">thiruvAimozhi 4-5-9<\/a> \u201c<em>vAnavar kOnaik kavi solla vallERku ini mARuNdE<\/em>\u201d (is there any enemy for one who is capable of singing paeans on the lord of nithyasUris?), <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">bhUdhaththAzhwAr<\/a> also mercifully speaks in this pAsuram.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>yAnE thavam seydhEn EzhpiRappum eppozhudhum<\/em><br \/>\n<em> yAnE thavam udaiyEn emperumAn yAnE<\/em><br \/>\n<em> irum thamizh nanmAlai iNaiyadikkE sonnEn<\/em><br \/>\n<em> perum thamizhan nallEn peridhu<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meaning<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>emperumAn \u2013 Oh my swAmy (Lord)!<br \/>\nEzh piRappum \u2013 in all births<br \/>\neppozhudhum \u2013 in all states<br \/>\nthavam seydhEn \u2013 carried out penance<br \/>\nyAnE \u2013 only I<br \/>\nthavam udaiyan yAnE \u2013 it is I who reaped the benefit of carrying out that penance<br \/>\nirum thamizh nal mAlai \u2013 beautiful garlands of words strung in great thamizh<br \/>\niNai adikkE \u2013 (to your) two divine feet<br \/>\nsonnEn \u2013 I offered<br \/>\nperum thamizhan \u2013 being an expert in great thamizh arts<br \/>\nperidhu \u2013 to a great extent<br \/>\nnallEn \u2013 being great<br \/>\nyAnE \u2013 only I<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>yAnE thavam seydhEn<\/strong> \u2013 only I had carried out penance. This is the difference between me and the people of this world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ezh piRappum eppozhudhum<\/strong> \u2013 It was I who carried out the penance, the benefit of which was to sing paeans about attaining <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, in all births and in all states. sIthAppirAtti said\u00a0 \u201c<em>IdhruSam puNyapApam<\/em>\u201d (puNyapApam (virtue and vice) are like this) \u2013 pirAtti said that there is reason for her unlimited sorrow. The sin (vice) for her is SrI rAma\u2019s anger. In the same way, this <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says that there is a reason for the benefit that accrued to him (in other words, he says that the reason is emperumAn\u2019s mercy). He affirms the reason based on the benefit that he obtained. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> too has mercifully stated in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/05\/thiruvaimozhi-2-7-6-madhusudhanai-anri\/\">thiruvAimozhi 2-7-6<\/a> \u201c<em>enakkE aruLgaL seyya vidhi sUzhndhadhAl<\/em>\u201d (emperumAn had to shower his mercy only for my sake).<\/p>\n<p><strong>yAnE thavam udaiyEn<\/strong> \u2013 it was I who attained the benefit of carrying out this penance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>emperumAn <\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 the reason for this is that he is my Lord. Hence, both his penance and the benefit are <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> only. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\">thirumangai AzhwAr<\/a> in his thirumozhi 6-3-4 calls emperumAn as \u201c<em>pOndhEn puNNiyanE<\/em>\u201d, saying that emperumAn is his virtue. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> asks whether there is anything for him to lose after emperumAn becomes his Lord. Only I have both the penance and the benefit of that penance, says the AzhwAr. The reason for this is that &#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>yAnE irundhamizh nanmAlai<\/strong> \u2013 there is a major difference between the garland of vEdha (sacred text) and the garland of thamizh words [dhivya prabandham] that AzhwAr had strung. The garland of vEdha could be learnt only by limited people [male members in the first three varNas) while the garland of thamizh that AzhwAr had strung could be learnt by everyone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>yAnE thavam uadiyEn yAnE irum thamizh nanmAlai iNai adikkE sonnEn<\/strong> &#8211; \u00a0only I had carried out the penance. As a result of that penance, only I had the fortune of offering to your divine feet, a great thamizh garland, made with superior words without any fault in either the grammar or the poetic metrics, and which could be learnt by everyone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>perum thamizhan<\/strong> \u2013 there is none who has immersed in the dhrAvida SAsthram (the sacred text in thamizh) as much as I have. Is it only that there is none to equal me in this?<\/p>\n<p><strong>peridhu nallEn <\/strong>\u2013 it is not because of egoistic bent of mind that <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> is calling himself as great. Just as nammAzhwAr had sung in thiruvAimozhi 7-9-4 \u201c<em>ennAgiyE thappudhalinRith thanaik kavi thAn solli<\/em>\u201d, AzhwAr says that <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, through AzhwAr, composed paeans without any faults, on himself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>nallEn peridhu<\/strong> \u2013Just as <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> said in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2017\/02\/thiruvaimozhi-4-5-8-namakkum\/\">thiruvAimozhi 4-5-8<\/a> \u201c<em>yAvar nigar agal vAnaththE<\/em>\u201d, this <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says that there is none who is his equal. He says \u201cnithyamukthars (the permanent dwellers of SrIvaikuNtam and those who reached SrIvaikuNtam after being liberated from samsAram) will worship <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> without any procedure and I too worshipped without following any rule or order.
