He did not go to any other place, deciding to remain in AzhwAr\u2019s divine mind. In other words, this pAsuram says that as soon as AzhwAr desired emeprumAn\u2019s inseparable place of SrIvaikuNtam, emperumAn desired AzhwAr\u2019s divine mind.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>manaththuLLAn vEngadaththAn mAkadalAn maRRum<\/em><br \/>\n<em> ninaippariya nILarangaththuLLAn enaippalarum<\/em><br \/>\n<em> dhEvAdhi dhEvan enappaduvAn munnorunAL<\/em><br \/>\n<em> mAvAy piLandha magan<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meaning<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>enai palarum \u2013 countless <em>vaidhika purushas<\/em> (those who follow vEdham, the sacred text) and <em>vEdha purusha<\/em> (vEdham itself); thus by all entities<br \/>\ndhEvAdhi dhEvan enap paduvAn \u2013 he is famously called as the lord of all dhEvas (celestial entities)<br \/>\nmA kadalAn \u2013 one who is reclining on the expansive thiruppARkadal (milky ocean)<br \/>\nmun oru nAL \u2013 once upon a time (when he incarnated as SrI krishNa)<br \/>\nmA vAy piLandha \u2013 one who tore the mouth of a demon who came in the form of a horse, kESi<br \/>\nmagan \u2013 a small child<br \/>\nmaRRum \u2013 more than that<br \/>\nvEngadhaththAn \u2013 one who, as simplicity personified, stands in thirumalai<br \/>\nninaippariya nIL arangathu uLLAn \u2013 one who is reclining in the temple which is sweet beyond anyone\u2019s thoughts<br \/>\nmanaththu uLLAn \u2013 he is permanently residing in my mind.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>manaththuLLAn<\/strong> \u2013 Just as <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/periyazhwar\/\">periyAzhwAr<\/a> had mercifully mentioned in his periyAzhwAr thirumozhi 5-4-10 \u201c<em>idavagaigaL igazhndhittu enpAl idavagai koNdanaiyE<\/em>\u201d (leaving aside all other dwelling places, you decided to stay in my heart), <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> left all other places and entered <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a>&#8216;s mind.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vEngadaththAn mAkadalAn<\/strong> \u2013 just before entering <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a>\u2019s divine mind, the places where he had taken residence \u2013 thiruppARkadal and thiruvEngadam (it is implied that he had taken residence in those places only to attract AzhwAr and through those places he entered AzhwAr\u2019s divine mind). Just as he had taken residence at thiruppARkadal before standing in thirumalai, in order to enter AzhwAr\u2019s mind, he stood in thirumalai.<\/p>\n<p><strong>maRRum ninaippariya nIL arangathth uLLAn<\/strong> \u2013 unlike thiruppARkadal or thirumalai, one cannot say thiruvarangam (SrIrangam) in one word. It is very sweet and very huge and suited <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u2019s reclining. He reclines in this place as if to tell everyone that he will not leave this place until he attains everyone and seems to be staging a protest! Just as it is mentioned in thaiththirIya upanishath \u201c<em>aprApya manasA saha<\/em>\u201d (the words returned with the mind, being unable to measure emperumAn), it may be possible to measure emperumAn\u2019s auspicious qualities, but it is impossible to measure the sweetness of thiruvarangam.<\/p>\n<p><strong>nIL arangam<\/strong> \u2013 very expansive temple.<\/p>\n<p><strong>enaip palarum dhEvAdhi dhEvan enappaduvAn<\/strong> \u2013 vEdhas (sacred texts) and vaidhika purushas (those who practice vEdham) say, as in SvEthAsvathara upanishath \u201c<em>thamISvarANAm paramam mahESvaram<\/em>\u201d (you are the Lord of all the Lords) and as in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/03\/thiruvaimozhi-1-1-1-uyarvara-uyarnalam\/\">thiruvAimozhi 1-1-1<\/a> \u201c<em>ayarvaRum amarargaL adipathi<\/em>\u201d (he is the Lord of nithyasUris who do not forget anything).<\/p>\n<p><strong>paNdorunAL mAvAy piLandha magan<\/strong> \u2013 earlier, when he incarnated as krishNa, he, as a child, had torn the mouth of a demon by name kESi. Or, one who incarnated as a human being. Since he destroyed kESi, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says that <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> removes the enemy who is a hurdle in emperumAn entering his heart. One who is called the Lord of all Lords, one who is in thiruppARkadal, one who tore the mouth of a demon, one who reclines in thiruvarangam which is beyond anyone\u2019s thoughts, one who resides in thiruvEngadam, entered my heart.
