In the earlier pAsuram he advised that we should worship <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> well. For that to happen, we should be there [alive] in the first instance.<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>thAmuLarE tham uLLam uLLuLadhE thAmaraiyin<\/em><br \/>\n<em> pUvuLadhE Eththum pozhudhuNdE vAman<\/em><br \/>\n<em> thirumaruvu thAL maruvu senniyarE sevvE<\/em><br \/>\n<em> arunaragam sErvadharidhu<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word for Word Meaning<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>thAm uLarE \u2013 chEthanas are already there (in order to worship <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> with their physical bodies and senses)<br \/>\ntham uLLam uL uLadhE \u2013 (to think about emperumAn) their minds are within themselves (without the need for having to search outside)<br \/>\nthAmariyin pU uLadhE \u2013 lotus flower (in order to offer to the divine feet of emperumAn) is available in plenty (in all water bodies)<br \/>\nEththum pozhudhu uNdE \u2013 the time required to praise emperumAn is available in abundance<br \/>\nvAman \u2013 sarvESvaran (supreme being) vAmana mUrththi (who kept his divine feet on the heads of all)<br \/>\nthirumaruvu thAL \u2013 beautiful divine feet<br \/>\nmaruvu \u2013 apt to be bowed to, in obeisance<br \/>\nsenniyarE \u2013 people with heads are available<\/p>\n<p>(thus, the chEthanas (sentient beings) are there in this world without any shortfall)<br \/>\nsevvE \u2013 directly<br \/>\narunaragam \u2013 the cruel hell<br \/>\nsErvadhu \u2013 to reach<br \/>\naridhu \u2013 very difficult task to carry out<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAKyAnam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>thAm uLarE&#8230;<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> has already created chEthanas, giving them physical forms and sensory perceptions. vishNu thathvam says \u201c<em>vichithrA dhEha sampaththi: ISvarAya nevEdhithum, pUrvamEva kruthA brahman hasthapAdhAdhi samyuthA<\/em>\u201d (Oh brAhmaNa! The physical body, with hands and legs, has been created in the beginning to be offered to <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>). Thus, emperumAn has already given the physical form to chEthanas. They do not have to create themselves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>tham uLLam uL uLadhE<\/strong> \u2013 once their existence has been granted, without the need for searching out for a heart, he has given that also, and has made it, his. Heart is not something that is outside of oneself. In order to hold on to the readily accessible, righteous <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, the readily available heart is sufficient.<\/p>\n<p>Despite these, is it difficult to worship <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p><strong>thAmariyin pU uLadhE<\/strong> \u2013 The lotus flower is available! Even if he does not want, these have been created already so that he does not have to seek anything outside. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> has removed all his short falls, so that the chEthana does not have to search out for the flower. The lotus flower is not outside his possessions!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eththum pozhudhu uNdE<\/strong> \u2013 The time required to hold on to emerpumAn is also there without any shortfall. Even if one feels lazy to pluck a flower, emperumAn has created sufficient time for worship!<\/p>\n<p><strong>vAman thirumaruvu thAL maruvu senniyarE<\/strong> \u2013 [for the sake of poetic metrics] vAmanan has been shortened to vAman. Isn\u2019t vAmanan willing to come even as a mendicant in order to accept whatever the chEthana gives! He has created the head [for the chEthana] so that the chEthana can bow his head at the divine feet of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>. The divine feet manifest the opulence of emperumAn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vAman<\/strong> \u2013 isn\u2019t he one who is elated, keeping his divine feet on everyone\u2019s head and is willing to come even as a mendicant in order to reclaim his possession! All that is required of us is to hold on to him (he doesn\u2019t expect anything else).<\/p>\n<p><strong>thirumaruvu thAL<\/strong> \u2013 As mentioned in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2017\/01\/sthothra-rathnam-31\/\">sthOthra rathnam 31<\/a> \u201c<em>Sanka chakra rathAnga kalpaka dhvajAravindhAnkuSa vajra lAnchanam<\/em>\u201d (divine feet which have as their identity the following: conch, disc, kaRpaka tree (wish fulfilling tree), lotus flag, goad, vajrAyudham (a weapon like a mace, made of diamond)) his divine feet are such that they manifest clearly that he is the Lord. Hasn\u2018t <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/periyazhwar\/\">periyAzhwAr<\/a> too divinely mentioned the same in his periyAzhwAr thirumozhi 5-4-7 \u201c<em>thiruppolindha sEvadi<\/em>\u201d (his divine feet manifest opulence)!<\/p>\n<p><strong>maruvu senniyarE<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> had already created the head which manifests the chEthana\u2019s servitorship! Aren\u2019t they (chEthanas) those with heads which will accept when emperumAn keeps his divine feet on them! \u201c<em>nAn<\/em>\u201d (I) denotes egoistic state like that of rAvaNa. \u201c<em>aham<\/em>\u201d (servitor) denotes the humble state like that of vibhIshaNa.<\/p>\n<p>When this is the position&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>sevvE arunaragam sErvadhu aridhu<\/strong> \u2013 to go directly to the cruel samsAram (life in the materialistic realm) is very difficult. When such is the difficulty, how do these people go, searching for samsAram? When <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> has given so many implements [physical form, senses, lotus flower, time, head etc] there is no scope for going to hell (Yet these people waste all these implements and take births in samsAram repeatedly, <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says mercifully, with sadness).<\/p>\n<p><strong>arunaragam<\/strong> \u2013 those who do not have knowledge will consider the dwelling place of yama as hell. Those with knowledge will consider taking birth in this word itself as hell. sIthAppirAtti says in SrI rAmAyaNam ayOdhyA kANdam 30-18 \u201c<em>nirayO yasthvayA vinA<\/em>\u201d (being separated from you is hell). Hasn\u2019t SrIvishNu purANam 17-63 said \u201c<em>dhEhE chEth prIthimAn mUda: bavithA narakEpi sa:<\/em>\u201d (that ignorant person will have desire for his physical form even in hell)!
